We were welcomed by Mark and Vannesa. Really accommodating and gave us a rundown of the various restaurants in Yserfontein. Their recommendations were spot on. Already booked our next trip taking the whole house for a family trip.
What a beautiful stay, with the most beautiful view of the beach. Not very big but well equipped and perfect accommodation for a couple traveling alone. Could cook a meal, coffee and tea in the kitchenette, milk in the fridge, WiFi available. The owner was wonderful.

We were 9 adults (4 couples and one single) and the house offered great space and views. Would have liked the windows to be cleaned prior to our arrival to enjoy the view even when the doors are closed due to wind. Given manager the following feedback - all related to bathrooms: towels had mouldy smell, one bathroom flouded due to blocked drain. I am sure he will sort these niggles to ensure following visitors don't experience these.
Asked to stay an extra night, payment was quick and easy.
We booked the entire guest house, for a family of 10, as self-catering for the weekend. We had a great time and on the last morning Inge served us a feast of a breakfast.

The hosts went out of their way to make our stay a home away from home.
However, we had no hot water to shower with, all weekend. Inge offered on Saturday evening that we could take a shower in another room on another level. The only TV channel was Universal and reception was poor. The WiFi also very bad. We really enjoyed the location and view.
Lovely accommodation in Yzerfontein. We got to enjoy the town and flower season with added suggestions from our host.
Inge made a good effort to make a baby cot available for us and welcomed us very kindly. She is full of stories and talks nicely without overwhelming you.

A guest house with an incredible view from the common area. All the rooms are not so tidy and the furniture is a bit tired. It's comfortable, but not luxurious. No direct access to the beach. Towels are stained, but soft and clean.

We were warmly welcomed, the house was neat and use of a communal lounge, patio and even kitchen was offered and used over the weekend. Swept Away's location and views are incredibly beautiful. It is a very nice guest house with a beautiful view of the sea. We had a nice time with family, barbecued meat in the garden. Inge spoiled us with breakfast every morning.
Also would have liked a key to the outside door leading to the wooden deck as we had a small dog with us. We had to go through the main house every time we needed to go out.
Insufficient DStv channels for guests - only 3. Room sometimes not cleaned by 17:00 on return from day out. No communication regarding facilities available to guests. Was never told our room door key fits the front door only to return at night to a locked door.
Unfriendly German lady, Inge, didn't even greet us upon arrival. More interested in how many people booked and paid. Didn't even apologise after confirmation of booking produced and they advertise B&B, but we were charged for breakfast. One way of making sure they get their money in. We brought our own bacon and salami but were charged. Universal key opens front door and room meaning anyone staying there has access to your room. Worse place I have ever been. Go somewhere else, not worth wasting your money.
Inge is a kind and friendly hostess who gave us a warm welcome. The breakfast was delicious. The view of the sea from all angles is breathtaking. It was peaceful and quiet. The type of break one needs to get rid of all the stress. Thank you very much Inge - Swept Away will never be the same without you!

Highlights are fantastic sea view from bedroom and friendly and helpful service. Only downside is that the room does not have an en-suite bathroom, but for the price we paid it was acceptable. All the other rooms do have en-suite bathrooms, so next time we will make sure we book such a room.
It was pleasant to spend the night at Swept Away. The view over the sea is fantastic. If you do not want to share a house with other people, I would suggest that you prefer not to spend the night there. Although each room is private, it can still get a bit 'crowded' if there are still people staying the night. Just my personal opinion.
It will be nice if every room had its own decoder and you can watch what you want on TV. More detail on the available rooms will be nice so that you know everything about a room before you make the reservation.
We stayed in the self-catering unit. Even though the view is stunning you can't get out from the unit. Impossible to braai.

Really enjoyed the stay.
Safe off street parking of our motorcycle did materialize, no lighting in the common parking area, safety concerns. The access to our room was via an exceptionally steep flight of stairs, we feel that this should have been flagged as many may have not been able to cope. Only two channels on the DSTV, TV. The room seemed/appeared to be used on a permanent basis as the bathroom cabinet contained used toiletries and personal items. No additional pillows or blankets. Taken into consideration the latter the asking price per night was a little steep. I personally prepare accommodation in our home town for guests and was disappointed in respect of the surprise booking for my spouse. Knowledge of restaurants was helpful. Find of the 'Beaches' restaurant and bar on the Saturday evening was by pure luck, Andrew Browns' hospitality made the night and softened our initial feeling regarding accommodation. The advertising picture of our room did not correlate with the room we stayed in, somewhat like a Wimpy Breakfast, what one sees is not exactly what one receives. We have deliberately held back our response, not wishing to upset any person. Certainly trust that comment here will be considered in a constructive manner.

Swept Away Guesthouse has a beautiful sea view, whether you're in the room of having breakfast. We were warmly received and the room was neat. A few things bothered me: there is no space to put one's bag down or hang one's clothes - except for a coat hook. The pillows are definitely worn and should be replaced - on request they replaced ours.The convenient shower has a curtain that lets quite a lot of water through and could be replaced with a door. Sorry there is no secure parking for cars. Must park on the street. The clear 2 TV channels are in German and the rest are unclear. We had to ask for soap and toilet paper which was fixed the next morning. Otherwise it was neat and clean and Inge's breakfast was delicious and we were received very hospitably. Would definitely recommend it.

Very nice stay, Inge is a friendly and polite hostess who welcomed us with open arms. We stayed in the self catering unit but asked for her famous breakfast in the morning, best idea ever! So nice to eat. Also, she really meant that one can look out at the sea everywhere. It was peaceful and quiet, exactly the type of getaway we had in mind and needed. She can definitely expect us again for a nice visit!

Wow! Wow! Again Wow! Inge is an excellent hostess. We really enjoyed her company and her kindness. We encountered adversity when we entered the village with our car, and she lovingly assisted us and helped us to get back on our way. Her breakfast is amazingly laid out and she lets you face the day in a good mood. Swept Away would not be the place it is without her, she is a special person.

On the website it advertises that swept away has DStv. That is the reason we booked to enjoy our stay and at the same time catch up on sports and for my daughter to watch TV. Swept Away only has one German channel and the local channels wasn't tuned in. I feel this should not be advertised on the website as it is misleading.
Swept Away is value for money. Beautiful view and very quiet. The room was well equipped. It's home away from home. Breakfast was very nice, typically German. We will definitely come again!

Excellent breakfast! The view is unbeatable.
The indication of how to find Swept Away was unclear and the location was also disappointing. The rooms were not specially decorated and the photo on the website does not match what was offered. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and the whole place seemed to have died out. Not a single cafe is open to eat a trifle. The hostess could have alerted us to this. Luckily the fir appeared to be open so we could do some shopping. The breakfast was good.
The one bedside lamp's screen was in tatters. The manner in which the manager kicked out the 'handy man' in front of us was disgraceful!
I have never slept in such a pathetic place and I stay all over the country in at least 4 guest houses in a month. The place was dirty and there was no soap and shampoo; I should have gone shopping at the Spar. I only had one duvet on the bed and it was very cold. The curtains were wet and could not be drawn because they had been hooked in the window. The place was dirty and someone is sleeping in that room because they packed all his clothes to one side.
Very peaceful and the view was fantastic! Would recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed the view and Inge went out of her way to accommodate us. Nothing was too much to ask and we really appreciated it. The facilities in the self-catering unit were minimal and could be expanded. However, we feel that we got value for our money and will consider staying there again if we visit South Africa in the future.
