"I booked the place well in advance but on the day of my arrival at the house I had to find out that it is occupied by someone else. "

I was packed with trailer and luggage ready to start the first leg of my holiday but it went all up in smoke right in front of me. I was offered a place which did not meet my criteria. My stay was a disappointment!

"OK, but not clean and a bit expensive."

Received friendly enough, the floor and bedding were clean. It's an apartment on the south side of the house - so it's cool in the winter. Slight sea view. Security is good (anti-theft, garage, alarm, solid gate that locks on the street front). However, the equipment in the kitchen was not acceptable at all. From the cupboards inside very dirty, all plates, glasses, cutlery etc. still had obvious food/beverage residue on it - extremely dirty. We had to wash everything we wanted to use first. This is really not how you want to start a getaway weekend. Luckily brought my own grill - wouldn't recommend using their grill! Price per night (4pax) of R1200pn is also too high. In my opinion R800 is a more faithful reflection of what you get (size/location/etc. ).

The photo on the website is a bit misleading as we only had a portion of the house and not the whole house as pictured. The accommodation was fantastic, but the website should mention that we would only be able to use the section behind the garage. The website also mentions that the accommodation is wheelchair friendly, but I (who can't walk properly) struggled to get in and out of the shower.

The following will make the kitchen even more consumer-friendly, but it is not a necessity - a tray (for serving grandma's tea in the living room) and a pan in which eggs can be baked more easily.

The house is spacious, very neat and well equipped. The owner has also made a special effort to ensure that the residence is safe. Thanks also to Alet who made sure that the house was ready for us to use at short notice.

The whole process from booking to our departure went really smoothly. Had a small problem with the TV which was fixed immediately by Aletta. The accommodation was comfortable and neatly furnished with everything needed. Can recommend the place.

Upon our arrival we were received by Aletta, not friendly at all. A large set of keys was handed over with "sort out for yourself which key fits where". In a hurry, the operation of the alarm and remote from the garage door was explained with the words "any problems just call me". Mats black from the garbage and filthy. Bathroom shower messy dirty, hand sanitizer bottle broken. Kitchen: We had to disinfect the marble top ourselves, the stove was dirty and the oven even dirtier, as was the oven tray (full of grease). Casserole burnt black inside and out, couldn't use it! The cupboard door handles in kitchen very dirty and full of grease. Glasses: All the glasses are odd, for example only one champagne glass, all glasses dirty. Only one steak knife and fork; 4 people can sleep here! Indoor grill: The steel brush used to clean the grill is just a piece of black burnt wood with a blade. Master bedroom has only one bedside lamp in working order. Saturday morning when I turned on the TV the DStv service was interrupted, I called Aletta, very curtly and actually unfit "I turn your TV on". My wife called her on Friday night about the operation of the stove, very unhelpful! When I called on Saturday about the TV I got the following comment "You don't know how a stove works, it's winter now and carpets are not washed now" The curtains in the braai and TV room were very dirty. The furniture throughout the house is of very good quality, as are the mattresses and duvets. The fitted sheet for the double bed is too small and shoots loose from the mattress, frustrating and annoying. Security gate between premises and the street: There is 1 lock with 1 key. Family of the owner was at home in the adjoining house on the premises, they had the lock and I had the key, was a logistical nightmare. It is a very nice house and we had a great time, would love to go back if there is another agent and the place is clean. For now it's a definite no go!

Received very kindly by the hostess. The apartment is very neat and well equipped for a nice holiday experience. There is even a garage where your car can be safely locked. Would definitely recommend staying there.

Neat, modern house/apartment with all the necessary facilities. Luxurious with good furniture. All the cutlery and necessities. Owner lives in the rest of the double house on the weekends. Very safe with a safety alarm linked to a local security company with a quick response time. Go and visit the Waenhuis Kombuis at the harbour for delicious meals, or the well-known Muisbosskerm, just 3 km outside town to Elandsbaai with delicious fish dishes by the beach. Those who love to braai can visit Pietie se Vleiswinkel.

We were 3 people, but I'm sure if we were 6 we still wouldn't be in each other's way. The 2 bonuses were the toilet spray in both toilets and the ice in the freezer. The beds sleep wonderfully.
