17 guests' feedbackSix of us rested at Syringa Sands' Rest Camp this past Women's Day long weekend. This was my second visit to this farm, and again it was an unforgettable experience. The Rest Camp offers people who don't really like camping the opportunity to work out with 'real campers'. There are two bedrooms for those who prefer not to stay in a tent, and then there is also enough space for a tent or forest caravan. Because you bring all your own things with you (like you do when you go camping), it's as comfortable as you want it to be. There is a lovely pond at the rest camp and a lot of game on the farm. We could also go mountain biking. The best part is the fact that there is no cell phone signal. That's all you can really do to get away from your computer and your phone. The owners are very nice and it is wonderful for me that they share their land with us. I would love to visit Syringa Sands again.
We recently had an amazing experience at Syringa Sands Rest Camp and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and tranquil getaway. The host, Alex, was very friendly and helpful, and we immediately felt at home. Her hospitality made the whole experience very pleasant and easy. The beautiful surroundings and scenery of Syringa Sands took my breath away. The view was breathtaking. We could enjoy the peace and quiet while barbecuing, swimming and relaxing. I can say with certainty that I will definitely come here again. Syringa Sands Rest Camp exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to be here again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly destination. Thanks Alex, see you again.
We really enjoyed the tranquility and the solitude and silence was special. The environment with the animals and the pond and the birds is something special.
We spent a lovely weekend at Syringa Sands Rest Camp. Walked a lot. Saw sables, moose, kudus, red hearted cattle, impala, hybrid chamois, nyala and giraffes. Also 57 different bird species including the white-crested eagle and the brown eagle. The Rest Camp is well equipped. Ablution building sufficient and hot shower delicious. Not luxurious. It was nice to take your own bedding with you. Will go again!
The dirt road was really bad because of the rain, but it's worth braving it. The campsite is neat and clean, the solar lights on the porch and kitchen were effective. Remember flashlights, the ablution does not have lights, but does have hot water. The plants cause the water to be brown, but completely drinkable. So feel free to pack your own drinking water.
The owners, Sean and Alex, have designed the campsite in such a way that nothing has been left out to ensure that it is as comfortable as possible when you stay there, and should you think of anything you might need, it is there . You have thought of everything for sure, we will for sure come back again for a longer time. The nature is well looked after and the biggest plus is that there is no mobile phone reception, what a pleasure. Sean and Alex, thank you so much for the wonderful place you provide to relax and get away from everyday life. Thank you very much!
Wonderful to camp in nature with only silence everywhere and wildlife within walking distance. The facilities are clean, tidy and friendly assistance is close by. Highly recommended!
We really enjoy it. Swam in the pond (water very clean). The ablution was very clean. Have fun camping!
This is an amazing forest folder with nothing. But it's the nothing that's so nice. Large lapa for shade in the heat of the day. Clean ablution. But the views and the absolute silence are the reason why we booked again.
Recommend it for anyone who likes the forest and wants to escape from the city lights. No cell phone reception makes it so much more fun to get away from it all and forget about it. Syringa Sands definitely see me again
Place is perfect for someone who wants to get away remotely without other hustlers around them. Perfect for beginner campers.
If you like silence, peace and quiet, nature and lots of space for walking, bird watching and cycling, this is the place for you! We really enjoyed it and look forward to our next visit!
The place is breathtaking. From forests, wild animals and mountains to water and fish and the milky way. It's definitely the ideal break away from the city's noise and hustle and bustle where you find rest for your soul.
We had a wonderful time. My little one really enjoyed the boat rides and the fishing. If you are ever looking to getaway and feel like you are in the middle of the African bush, try Syringa Sands. We will definitely be back.
If you need peace and quiet, this is just the right place. Sean went out of his way to make it as pleasant as possible for us and did little things that we didn't even ask for, such as specially bringing a bike for my little girl to ride around, gas bottles with hob and gas light. He went to great lengths to take us on a delightful adventure-filled game drive. Will stay longer next time for sure.
Very nice place to camp with no one around you.
Enjoyed the stay. Ablution facilities excellent and clean, and lapa definitely made things easier. Tables and chairs made it extra convenient and the braai area was neat. Can suggest wood that's already chopped, especially since there was no space left in the car to transport wood and there was no wood available nearby.
