This well established guest lodge is situated on one hectare of land and it offers 18 chalets and one Suite which sleep 38 guests in total. There is also a pub and grill restaurant and a conference venue. The restaurant is open from 07:00 in the morning and operates from Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 08H00. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, only the accommodation is open on a Sunday.
Our swimming pool area for our guests is also suitable for small functions or other activities.
Our newly established lounge has been designed with a warm and contemporary feel, carefully planned to enable space yet intimacy. Here you find peace of mind while enjoying the finest drinks & food with soft & relaxing background music. With our first stay at Tapologo lodge everything was good and in order. It is a beautiful and well maintained site. We stayed there a second time on our way back from our holiday (booked with our first stay). It was during the Easter weekend, there was no one on the premises receiving the guests. After a person arrived, we were given a unit - which was still dirty and unserviced after previous guests. We had to wait again for the person to come from elsewhere to give us another unit. It was a disappointing experience, the power plug for the boiler wouldn't work and there was only 1 towel in the unit.
Nothing was inordinantly wrong with my stay and must add that the lodge managers went the extra mile. For example, I received a discount on my dinner for not eating in the morning. The location overall is good and on the N4, making access simple and continuation of a person's journey hassle-free. The room cleanliness was good, yet suffered some shortcomings: a) The microwave did not work - not that I planned to use it. b) On arrival, the fridge is switched off, and thus takes long to cool down items placed in it. c) One of the major deficiencies was the lack of WiFi. I had to resort to my own WiFi, and it also meant that Star TV entertainment channels were not available. As for the lack of WiFi, I will give this lodge the benefit of the doubt. However, I do expect this while travelling, particularly from outside South Africa. A final more mundane comment is that I had to use my own insect repellent to eradicate the room of mosquitoes, but this is also something that I have learnt to travel with and not to expect lodges to provide, particularly at the overall reasonable charge and the managers accommodating me with forgone breakfast charges.

Nice setup, nice pool and braai area. Room was big and bright because of big windows. You can see if something is coming for a visit, for example baboons, but staff always there to chase them away. Very welcoming staff.
The lodge is situated in prime area, and is clean.
Even though we were there only for a night, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the place is gorgeous and clean. Even their breakfast was on point, what I loved the most is the fact that they catered for me as a vegetarian. Me and my husband are planning to go there again.
Enjoyed the few days very much and rested. Looked for silence and found it there.

Large, neat playground for the children. Nice getaway if traveler doesn't mind day visitors. Day visitors until 5 o'clock there - very noisy and busy. Lovely swimming pool but with day visitors who are many you can only enjoy it after 5 pm. Restaurant food is off the books. Breakfast was also really nice. Place is very neat and clean and service is great. Power going out was no problem either - generator worked immediately. Security guards patrol the place so you can sleep with peace of mind
No telephone to contact reception. No free WiFi as stated. Could have listened to the radio online. Rude breakfast service by the waitress who attended us. She wanted to serve us on a dirty table: when I asked her to wipe she said it was still early and they haven't cleaned yet. Until I insisted that she should wipe the table before serving us. Coffee was terrible. They kept knocking on our door (don't disturb sign not provided) while trying to have private time. No shower caps available. Plugs not enough and not easily accessible. Side lamps not working. Had a hard time switching the TV on, and had go to reception for help.

The reception was friendly and informal. The room and the bathroom is spacious and the linen is clean. The dinner was pleasant and our dog was welcome everywhere.

I saw a few problems there. Your head rest is made of stone I think it's quite dangerous. We had a kettle but no utensils or tea or coffee. It was quite puzzling.
The Breakfast times can be improved to start at 6am or at least 7am. Closing the pool at 5pm for residents is also not on. Its ok to close out for outsiders but not residents.

We recently spent the night at Topologo on our way to Botswana. Very clean and everything you need. Adri welcomed us very kindly and made us feel comfortable. Just take a picnic basket with plates, knives and forks if you want to barbecue, we forgot, but Adri came to our rescue. Will visit there again.

Friendly reception, helpful and the whole site quiet and tidy. Very relaxing atmosphere. Restaurant staff friendly, food very tasty and reasonable prices. Breakfast is also nice, but could improve if fresh fruit, cheese and filter coffee or coffee in "plunger" are offered. Will definitely go again.
Tapologo is ideal as a stop when you’re going or coming back from Botswana. The staff was great and we received a warm welcome at the reception as well.
The hospitality was very nice to receive. The rooms are nice and big and the white bed 2 plus points. The reception people are very helpful, with the fact that we flew from the Middle East and could only check in after 10 pm. The pool is very nice. Was very nice to be able to spend a weekend there.
I didn't like that we couldn't use the pool since there was a private function .
The service was ok and their customer service was ok. The check-in was hassle free. However, it is next to the road where trucks past by so the truck noises is a little bit disturbing in the morning while we still sleeping. I wish there could be a variety in their breakfast menu.
We traveled from Johannesburg to Swartruggens for a family gathering. I called during lunch to inform the Lodge that we would not be able to be there until after 8pm. I was told that I should just make a plan to pick up the key earlier. This meant an additional 150 km and R140 (toll). We had to drive the next morning already at 07:00 and therefore could not eat breakfast that started at 08:00, but there was no one to receive the key at that time.
Restaurant is top class. Best T-bones in town.

No comment. Been there. Contacted the booking agent. My experience was as bad as my tenant next door. Maybe a start would be wiping their fridges down, and that's just a start.

Strategically located, very neat and friendly helpfulness. Possibly located too close to the main road as the heavy vehicles sometimes rumble too loudly.
Daily service very good and staff who clean rooms effectively and friendly. The resort is very well maintained. High quality food and very friendly staff. Resort managers go out of their way to provide assistance and share information. Breakfast can be served as early as 06:30, especially for business people and persons who come to do business. Otherwise we had 3 fantastic days.

2nd time we stay here and it is very convenient for us on the road. Just remember that the restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings and if you are not aware it can catch you badly because there are no places to eat in Botswana on our route.
