30 chalets are spread out in a U-formation on either side of the lodge, offering excellent views of animals approaching the waterhole from the opposite bank. The lodge has a 5-star rating and chalets are equipped with both air-conditioning and ceiling fans, mini-bars, tea and coffee facilities, en-suite bathroom with open-air shower, and each has its own private deck, allowing one to experience the bush in privacy.
The main body of the Lodge has an impressive reception hall, swimming pool, dining room and a comfortable lounge and bar (all partially outdoors).
Our state-of-the-art convention centre offers specialists equipment designed with a simple plug in and play option for all presentation needs.
Families with children are welcome at Tau Game Lodge. Although children under the age of 6 years are not allowed to join adults on the standard game drives, a shorter kiddies’ safari of approximately an hour is offered and the Tau Cubz Club programme is in place for their entertainment.
Madikwe Game Reserve is currently the country’s fourth largest game reserve, comprising 75,000 ha, and situated in the North West Province, boasts year-round game viewing. It is one of the few reserves where one can view a wide variety of fauna. Breeding herds of Elephant, White and Black Rhino, Lion, Cheetah, Spotted and Brown Hyena, Buffalo, Leopard, Zebra and the endangered Wild Dog, Giraffe and Warthog, are amongst the animals that roam the reserve.

3 guests' feedbackI find it is a lot of food, but not 5-star food. I found the staff very friendly and kind, but they seem too interested in tips. I think the owner needs to pay their staff more, they do deserve it. Found the rooms too crowded. The other guests also complained and like I said, as for the quality of the food I found that we paid too much for what we received. The staff was great, the guides were great. I feel if it's raining, for that price, they should have card games or bingo as well.
As always the whole experience was wonderful. Staff look after your every need. Rooms are spotlessly clean with patio overlooking the water hole. Great value with all meals and game drives inclusive. Great to have the added temptation of a spa as well!
