Tau Self-Catering is situated in Marloth Park nature reserve on the banks of the Crocodile River with stunning views of the Kruger National park and its wildlife.
The house offers 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and can accommodate a maximum of 10 persons. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
There is a large well-equipped kitchen available with a gas stove, electric oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, ice maker, dishwasher and all other equipment required for self-catering.
Meals can be enjoyed in the indoor open plan dining area, upstairs breakfast area overlooking the Kruger Park or in the downstairs lapa featuring a built-in braai. The braai area flows into a large garden with a sparkling pool. Sun loungers are available to enjoy the warm African sun in the private pool area.
The main feature of the lodge is the large upstairs patio with various seating options. This patio offers the best views of the Crocodile River and the Kruger park with its Big 5 in Marloth Park. Hours can be spent here watching the herds of Elephant and Buffalo coming down to the river to drink. Lions are regularly seen following these herds while several hippos have made the river in front of the house their home. Upstairs also features an indoor lounge flowing out onto the patio. This area offers a library and a TV with full DStv channels as well as comfortable couches to take a break from the game viewing. There is a solar backup power system so this property is not affected by load shedding.

Very nice, comfortable and well equipped house. View of the best in Marloth. Can definitely recommend the house to more than one family. Very spacious and different rooms to visit. The daily cleaning services were a very big plus. Nelsie was so helpful and very friendly.

It was nice, the house was clean and neat. There were animals to see. A lot of space. Just had trouble with the WiFi, it didn't have a lot of signal and we had a little problem with the air conditioners the second night as they were not working, but further there were no problems. It's a lovely house.
We were a group of 7 and the house was perfect. It was clean and had all the amenities. We saw several animals every day and was a great experience for all of us. The caretaker was friendly and helpful and the house is cleaned every morning. We booked a day trip to Kruger National Park through our home booking as advertised, but will definitely not do it again. The vehicle was not up to standard and the tire was worn. There was no equipment to change a tire and my husband had to jump in to change a tire. Book directly with SAN Parke instead.
We celebrated my 80th birthday at Tau, with all the family. Everyone was so comfortable with the place to sleep, five star, cutlery very good quality, the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. It was the most wonderful time we were privileged to spend in the beautiful, comfortable home. We will definitely do it again.
The only down side was a huge red ant problem all over the place. We were getting bitten quite a bit. Other then that we will definitely be back.
It was the second visit to Tau Self-catering House and nothing has changed. It is absolutely perfect. Only a small problem with hot water in the main house, but overall excellent service from all the staff.
For my son and his wife and two daughters who live in the USA it was necessary. It is also close to the Wilde Krugertuin where the children see animals that are not possible in the USA.

We were without power for 2 days of our stay and had to struggle with fridges that weren't quite cold and no WiFi. You may not use the generator all day and night. The lady in charge is lovely and tries her best to help. I feel I should be compensated for the inconvenience.

Fantastic stay, we wish we could have stayed longer. Accommodation was superb, staff were friendly and helpful, we appreciated the air-con in the bedrooms. Upstairs deck offered great views and we sighted elephant, rhino, hippo, zebra and a number of antelope species. Giraffe roam around the house! We highly recommend this establishment.

Beautiful spacious rooms with bathrooms. Unit is large with plenty of equipment as well as a place to hang out. Lovely lapa and deck view over the Wildlife Park. Elsie and the site staff are very friendly and helpful.

We were kindly received by Nelsie. Everything was ready and tidy for our arrival. She and the other 2 staff members were always friendly and helpful. Place is well equipped, offers everything and more than required. The view of the Wiltuin is beautiful.
Everyone enjoyed themselves. The pool was clean. Excellent view of the river and managed to see some lions with their catch. The beds are comfortable and clean. We managed to watch some soccer on the Saturday night, which was great.
Thank you very much Abri, we had a great stay, only one concern was that the DB board would overheat and pose a fire hazard, could smell wires burning/melting, would definitely recommend the property to my friends.

We were 3 families with our 4 teenagers and 2 little ones and we really enjoyed it. Everyone was properly accommodated and everything was very comfortable.
We just had a problem with the hot water. The gas geysers were problematic and need checking.
Great house at a great location. The house is very good for a big family. We travelled together with another family that was located in the attached apartment. The comfort and cleanliness of this apartment was unfortunately a lot worse than the house.
Only negative point was that on the first night we ran out of gas and could only bath/shower the next morning which was not nice. Cleaning service and assistance was great, overall a very nice stay. Thanks.

Totally exceeded our expectations! The staff were fantastic. Location really awesome.
We were 9 people and the house is definitely equipped to accommodate that many people without people being under each other's feet all the time but: 1. The Swimming pool needs attention - it was spotless but the "marbalite" is making bubbles . The waterfall is not working so it definitely needs attention. 2. Refrigerator-freezer must be looked at, the "door seal" is loose and therefore the freezer leaks because the door does not seal properly. 3. The electrical wiring needs to be looked at.
The house was clean and neat. We had more than enough space. We saw hippo and elephant from the house. Only problem is that the fridge wasn't very cold and the power kept going off and we were told it happens often. We had no power from the Friday night till Saturday mid morning and due to that some of our food went off and had to be thrown away. Maybe need to invest in a generator. I would really recommend this place to anyone. I enjoyed my birthday weekend. Thank you to the staff who were very friendly.

Staff very friendly and efficient. Accommodation comfortable and clean. Only problem we had was there was no gas for hot water on first night, had to get the staff to connect a full bottle which was on site. Shower door downstairs, off the passage needs to replaced as water spills onto floor and also needs towel rail to hang towel on. Had a great stay and a great holiday, would recommend them.
