Vanzylsrus was a "must see" on our "sloor tour" through the Northern Cape and a bit of the Western Cape. The accommodation at Tevrede Lekkerus was first class and its decoration is a pleasant surprise; colorful and interesting. Marius took advantage of the crisp, clear, star-studded night sky of the Kalahari by taking the most beautiful pictures of the Milky Way. When we drove away from Tevrede Lekkerus in the morning, it felt to me as if I was saying goodbye to friends with whom we were visiting and not as a guest who was only staying there for one night. Gerda and Kobus, thank you for your hospitality. It was nice to meet you.

What an amazing location in the Kalahari to spend two nights. The room has everything you need and we really enjoyed it. Being able to view the sunset from one of the red dunes was truly an experience. We didn't meet the host, but after a short phone call we were truly made to feel at home. "Please get yourselves wood and ice" were Kobus' words when we contacted him. The springboks and waterbucks just walked between the houses with the wheatear birds that often come to beg for a sandwich when we barbecue. Just a warning for future visitors, we found the R31 (dirt road) very rough and also lost a tyre. We did come from Askham's direction, so drove much further on the dirt road than we would from Van Zylsrus's side. We will still recommend the accommodation to friends and family. We will definitely stay here again if we go in that direction in the future.
Beautiful surroundings, neat accommodation, good value for money.
Located between red dunes. Very neat with the best ablution facilities. Power available. Safe and quiet. Wild goats grazing around you. Water clean and drinkable. Very good facilities. Definitely worth a visit.
Road signs are poor. Difficult to find the place. No clear signs and cellphone signals are weak, so GPS cannot work.

A pleasant surprise on arrival. The cottage we were allocated was neat, clean and you felt welcome. We were offered wood, but did not braai the evening. Tevrede Lekkerus is definitely recommended.
Campsites may need to be marked out.
The host was there to welcome us and offered wood for a barbecue upon entering. The chalet was neat and clean. The air conditioner worked well and was a necessity that particular afternoon. Will definitely visit there again.

We had a lovely evening at Tevrede Lekkerus cottage. Kobus made sure we had lots of braai wood and there was everything we needed in the cottage, including fresh rusks, tea, coffee and sugar. The cottage is peaceful and comfy.
I am a single person traveling with my dog. Units are new, modern, neat and well planned. Ideal place to clear your head. Surroundings are beautiful, with amazing sunrises and sunsets. It had been a full moon and the field looked so beautiful in the moonlight. Although it's on a farm, there was wildlife to be seen without any difficulty: springbok, waterbuck, ground squirrels (think they're called fantails), meerkats - all right in front of the units. Also saw an aardwolf for 2 nights, which is rare. I could also go for a nice walk with my dog during the day. The hosts were wonderful, friendly and helpful, and you could have a nice chat with them. They also helped and explained a shortcut to Upington. I will stop by again anytime I'm in the area.
The arrival at Tevrede was indescribable. The warmest reception from two people flat on earth. It made our journey of 12 hours completely forgotten and we felt energized. That welcome coffee was very special. The accommodation itself was a luxurious well planned unit. From the upper seats. You will definitely see us again in the future. Hope you get a lot of rain.
Place was beautiful, clean and neat.
We were on our way back from Namibia to Kimberley, Northern Cape. We booked 1 night at Tevrede Lekkerrus. Upon our arrival on Friday evening, we enjoyed the nature and silence and simply decided to stay an extra night. The places are very nice clean and tidy with no mistakes. I would recommend anyone to stay there. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Great little house on stilts between the Kalahari dunes with piece and quiet and stargazing evenings. Little cottage as all you want with great walks around the farm area on sun set.

Very clean and all necessities were provided, included coffee, milk, rusks etc. Each unit is far apart enough to provide a feeling of space and privacy. We had a fully equipped safari vehicle but did not need anything other than our food and clothing. The unit is also air-conditioned which was nice as we were there in 40+ temperature.
