This was our second time at Thaba Lenaka and once again we really enjoyed it. The place is very well equipped and the silence in the forest is refreshing.
Tranquility at its best.
Very nice please. House has everything needed. There is an outdoor barbecue as well as a gas barbecue on the deck. Great view from the deck where you can sit and read for hours or just hang out. We enjoyed the walk where you could see the blesboks, zebras, impalas, duikers and wildebeest grazing. Rest for your soul where you truly experience soul rest.

We really enjoyed the large deck. The noises of the quad bikes from an adjacent farm were a bit annoying. I think it is necessary to add in the description of the property that it is not totally secluded. One can see lots of properties all around.

Thaba Lenaka 1 is a fantastic chalet. Lots of space, well equipped and gives you a feeling of being deep in the bush.
We had a great time, the stoep remains a winner, the view is very beautiful! We were also lucky not to get any 'load shedding'. When you walk in, you already feel at home. Everything was also in working condition and it is exactly how it looks in the photos. This was my fifth time at the accommodation and I would go back again anytime, maybe only when it's cooler.

Thaba Lenaka 1 exceeded our expectations and is really very comfortable, spacious accommodation with everything one needs. The location of Thaba Lenaka is ideal for things to do.
This is a great place to spend a weekend to relax and unwind within easy travel distance from Joburg and Pretoria. Unit 1 is very spacious fully equipped and has great views out over the valley. Bird watching and walks on the farm being two of the things we enjoyed. We saw Zebra, Impala and Blesbok while out walking.

Upon arrival, Marie came to greet us as if we had known each other for years and immediately made us feel welcome. We were pleasantly surprised to see that spacious unit one wash and everything is top notch. If you are someone who sets high standards when it comes to places to sleep, we can recommend this with confidence. The bird life is something very special with the Southern waterfowl and tiptolls that visit around and on the stoep all day. The badger pair were so tame that they even went inside the house looking for something to eat. We slept with the sliding door to the master bedroom open and could hear the calls of the distant night owls throughout the night. We may go there again.

The house's interior is unbelievably beautiful and the wooden patio in front is the cherry on top. Beautiful view and early in the morning you can see game next to the river all the way from the patio. Enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go back.
My sister and I had a very special time. We basically sat on the porch the whole time and hung out. The view was beautiful! The house is well furnished with everything one needs. And the interior decoration is very tastefully done and we felt like we were out of Africa!

Looking for a place away from everything and everyone? A place to find yourself again? Explore the world safely on foot? Listen to the sounds of nature at night like you can only do in the bush? The management is super hospitable and the place is super neat, clean and fully equipped. This is the first place where they welcomed us with the necessary things for coffee. It may sound stupid, but everything to the finest detail, even toilet paper and ice blocks ofr a glass of something cold, if coffee is not your speed. If you are looking for a place to rest far from the city, this is a must!

Close to Pretoria for a getaway with the kids. Not big enough so that you can drive around and see game at all. You see a few buck and zebra walking distance of a about half an hour from the farm. As keen birders it was wonderful to visit Nylsvlei and surrounds.
There isn't much to do on the farm. We walked across the whole farm within an hour, so birng enough to do and to eat.
Had a wonderful getaway at Thaba Lenaka. It is close to Johannesburg, very neat and clean. Very peaceful place and we really enjoyed it. A true gem of a place and I am so happy we discovered it. Quiet, peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. View wildlife from the balcony of Cottage or go for a walk among the wildlife, especially the zebras are used to people and it was wonderful for me to be able to go so close to them and walk with them. I was looking for some peace and quiet and found it in abundance at this unique place. If people want to be more active the location is ideal, next to Klein Kariba which people can visit as day visitors and about 8 km from Bela Bela for more to do and see and shopping etc. I highly recommend Thaba Lenaka there are two smaller chalets also available and the spacious, luxurious Cottage which can accommodate 6 (we were only 2 and the payment is per person) was good value for our money.

Beautiful and everything is tasteful, even the cutlery and corckery. Tranquil, quiet, and stunning nature despite the drought. The hosts were very friendly. A few large casseroles are advisable in the kitchen and maybe a large fraying pan for eggs. We were 5 adults (mom and dad, married son and spouse, and daughter 30). We had to buy aluminium casseroles. Otherwise - highly recommended!

Als was 100% - we had a good rest, als was clean and tidy. The house was very well equipped with everything one could possibly need. We just wouldn't have minded if there was air conditioning because it had been incredibly hot - but the fans in the house helped a little.
We were warmly welcomed and delighted beyond expectations with our accommodation. It was spotless with lovely linen, and fragrant soaps and lotions in the bathrooms. Was a treat to find lots of ready-made ice in the freezer, tea coffee sugar and creamer, bin-liners, washing-up liquid and cloths, lots of coat hangers, and a special gift of Thaba Lenaka coasters. When load-shedding occurred we were immediately SMS'ed to ask if we had everything we needed. The unit has a good indoor/outdoor flow with a pretty bush and river view from the large comfortably-furnished verandah. Lovely to walk freely in the game area and I would enjoy staying there again.

We had a fab time at Thaba Lenaka. This is more than just a place to stay ... you will feel spoiled staying in comfort in the Bush. The owners did not spare any expense when arranging the house unlike other places where cheap has been marketed as luxury. Do note this is self catering and includes everything upside is you have privacy. Your own little piece of the Bushveld.

The place is very nice and quiet. I would suggest if you can build a swimming pool since many people like to swim and would prefer to avoid going somewhere else to take a dip. Other than that, perfect!

Refreshing and for the kids it was dream land as there were so many animals to see and the cleanliness of the apartment was welcoming.
It was a fabulous weekend away from the cityâ??s hassle and bustle. We had a beautiful view of the surrounding area from the veranda where we also had most of our meals. We spent most of our time relaxed on the veranda where there is a nice sitting area and table. Just chilling with a drink in the hand or entertaining ourselves with board games and conversation. It was a girl weekend only and we enormously enjoyed ourselves with no outside interference of any kind. The nature is close by and night noises is so relaxing that you just wish to sleep outside on the veranda. The only thing missing was a pool, but with Forever Resort only 8km away it was not a big inconvenience but would have been nice on those days that you do not want move from the lodge.
Its a very safe place with all the neccesary equipment required.very well kept,clean and very friendly service
