Have stayed there a few times, always nice, and the owner is always friendly and helpful.

The management of the guest house was great and friendly. There was no trouble with anything, everything is convenient. Preparations were made if it is load shedding. Very neat and beautiful guest house.

Nice stay. Clean and very tidy. Shower floor is a bit slippery. Maybe put in a shower mat. People might slip there and injure themselves.
Accommodation is clean and tidy, deluxe pool room is very spacious and was suitable for a camping cot. The only suggestion is to see if the water pressure in the shower can be improved a little, as well as to look at the air conditioner; it works but is not very powerful. Otherwise no complaints. Bed slept very comfortably. The pool was a plus for the 40 °C heat wave we experienced. There was noise and loud music playing until the morning hours from surrounding houses, but this is beyond the owner's control and unfortunately just the environment.
Ordinary place, no DSTV as advertised, owner did not even know I was arriving even after paying in full on the website. I moved rooms after day 1 for the next 5 days. Wouldn't go there again, but nothing terrible. Was ok - nothing to really moan about, but nothing great at all.
Host is very accommodating and I will stay there again.

We were very comfortable and the environment is very peaceful. Any problems were immediately resolved and attended to.
Thatchers Guest Rooms are very clean and tidy. We stayed in the detached room next to the pool and there was everything we needed for one night's sleep. We liked the self check-in.

Gas or generator is a great need these days. This accommodation has no form of aid during load shedding.
The location was perfect from our destination. The gate arrangements were honoured, strictly closed at 22:00 as communicated. The key was accessible. The swimming pool area was available, even though a private function was held. We were advised on advance of it. But we had no noise complaints. All in all, excellent accommodation.

There is no house number or signage on the property, so despite GPS, it was problematic locating the exact house. Most annoying though, is there is no remote controlled gate to access the property. So I had to jump out my car to push the gate open, drive through, jump out again, push gate closed, jump back in car and drive on. Have to do this every time I exit/enter. Was the first one to leave in the morning and still had to unlock the chain tied around the gate. Extremely inconvenient and annoying. Had it been raining, it would have been even more irritating. I don't see how a women visitor could ever appreciate this inconvenience and a safety risk to have to get out your car to push open a gate, especially if dark. Although a comfortable room, this gate is a deal breaker.
The place you stayed in was very neat but the guest house is not in a safe location.
Will definitely book there again should I go back to Welkom again. Lovely and peaceful.
We enjoyed our stay at Thatchers Guest House. We were welcomed by Leonard on arrival and shown to our room, which was spotless, airy and comfortable. A beautiful bathroom, amazing shower, comfortable bed, and much-needed aircon on a hot weekend. A really great place at a great price!
