Such a treat for the weekend. My sister and I got to relax and got the break we deserved. The host is amazing.
Yes, we had a wonderful stay. The host and hostess were really friendly and helpful. Thank you Janine and Darryl. Thank you also for the Christmas presents on Christmas Day for the children. Even though it was raining, the house was wonderfully large and even the children could be kept busy inside.

Quiet, and beautiful location. Unit has everything you need. The gas grill in particular came in handy for a late night arrival's sausage grill, thank you.

Aloe House is well maintained and neatly furnished. The veranda overlooking the river is also a nice bonus. We would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful accommodation with exceptional river views. The friendly owners went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel at home. Very convenient to order meals there.
Owners are focused on customer comfort and satisfaction! Accurate route directions, friendly reception, facilities delicious, neat and all perfect, delicious breakfast.
The guesthouse is luxurious and value for money. The owners quickly made us feel at home and we were even able to order dinner at a very reasonable price, which saved us the trouble of going out for dinner again.
Was very nice. Only (constructive) criticism is that there is no fan or air conditioning. For the two nights we were there (15 and 16 February 2019) it was quite hot. We slept with open windows / sliding door, but there is no air flow in the room. I didn't ask for a fan - maybe one was available on request.
We were generously received by the hostess, Janine. Our self-catering unit was shown to us and the operation of the Aloe House was explained to us. When I booked, The Aloe House didn't have a restaurant yet, when we arrived it was a welcome thought that we didn't have to buy loads of food to be self-sufficient. We only kept the basic supplies like milk, coffee and soft drinks. The view from The Aloe House over the river is breathtaking. The self-catering unit is neat, spacious, full DStv, own deck that offers a breathtaking view of the valley and river. The unit has coffee, sugar, tea and milk. We saw the osprey sitting in the tree by the river every day. Game, such as warthogs, kudus, ibex were visible on the adjacent lands. Binoculars are available in the unit to spy on the wildlife. But I must tell about Daryl, our host's cooking genius. The breakfast was never the same every day. Daryl makes breakfast as the craze takes him. It was nice. Bacon and eggs are getting so trite. We just had to inform him which meals we will be there so he is prepared. The Aloe House is not that close to the beach but this was not a problem for us. We relaxed so much in the unit with its spacious windows and view of nature that it didn't matter not to go to the beach. You can request that your laundry be washed and ironed for an extra fee.
Daryll and Janine are excellent hosts it actually made the visit. Will definitely return due to the scenery and the facilities. It is superb.
Incredibly hospitable owners who really thought of every possible little detail. We were only in the area for one night, but The Aloe House made us rethink our holiday destination.
It is hard to explain in a review how incredible or stay was. Janine was warm and welcoming upon our arrival, as well as during our contact beforehand. The view from the deck is amazing and you notice the different birds (including eagles), different kinds of bucks and warthogs. Lovely and tranquil environment. We will definitely go again.
