Deliciously delicious. Cute little place, perfect for our girls weekend.
Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The place was the perfect destination where my wife and I could end our honeymoon on our way back home.
House is nice and close to town and restaurants.
Our stay was great. The accommodation is within walking distance from all the restaurants and shops. The unit was very clean and comfortable. The sunroom was a cool spot to spend the afternoons. A few things to note: The shower doesn't have a door, but the toilet does. Note the water restrictions, and the shower does get a bit finicky between hot and cold. If you are booking the downstairs, you will be able to hear footsteps from upstairs. Overall though, an amazing stay and will definitely return.
Very well equipped unit and ideally located with just a 3 minute walk to the town square. The unit was also very clean and tidy on arrival and would stay there again anytime.
Yes, it was delicious!
The unit is neat. Conveniently located within walking distance of the square. Our inquiries were dealt with promptly. The only downside is our visit was too short. Hopefully we can visit Clarens and The Attic again soon.
We had a great stay, yes - the shower was just disappointing. Very faint and warm water disappears after a few seconds. TV didn't work either. But that didn't stop us from having a great weekend. The accommodation is located very close and allows walking.
We stayed in the Attic and enjoyed it as there is a good view of the surroundings. The Attic is adequately equipped for self-catering and we lacked nothing. The place is extremely hot and a ceiling fan or two will go a long way for the discomfort. The access is by a set of stairs and this may be a problem for elderly/disabled persons.
Hot water in the shower was a problem. The upstairs unit's water was dripping through the ceiling into our downstairs unit's kitchen. The water at the shower has been sorted out. The unit was also not serviced in the five days we stayed there, such as changing towels. We did sleep wonderfully warm.
We had no water and place was dirty. The owner was rude with us and did not want to help us when we told her that we accidentally left the laptop.
Good Morning,. We got to the unit and found out that the bathroom did not have a door. We were 2 x adailts and two 15 year old kids. The kids did not feel that they have thier pirivat space at all, and so did we.
Adequate in every way, everything one needs and more.
It was very comfortable and well-located. We could not get the TV channels to change so it was an early night for all as we were all in the 1 room.
What I can say is, please sit down. a sliding door or a screen or just a curtain in front of the bathroom entrance. We have been hanging out with friends there and it can get awkward. There is not enough privacy when it comes to the bathroom.
My wife could sit and paint very quietly, would recommend The Attic & Below anytime.
Really enjoyed the accommodation, it is very close to the local shops and entertainment.
The kitchen is impractical. It needs work space. We had no loadshedding, but still there was no water between 9pm and 6am.
The lower unit's large glass doors that open and integrate the exterior with the interior are a winner. Two irritations: The sleeping place is for four people in an open plan situation. For a teenager looking for privacy, it doesn't work. Immediately next to the Attic (virtually on the same plot) leather products are produced throughout the week. The workers' music and production sounds are disturbing for people who are looking for the tranquility of a holiday atmosphere.
Walking distance from everything. Clean and tidy. Safe. Lovely visit, beautiful garden. Everything you need is there and Valerie is so helpful and friendly! We will definitely visit there again! Pocket pass prices too.
Lots of space and fully equipped self-catering unit.
The Attic was nice and clean, nice beds, very cute place. Close to the village. It was nice to park your car for the visit and be able to walk all over the nice location. The cleaner was so friendly and helpful and made everything just perfect and comfortable. Thanks for the nice place.
We had a very nice stay. When there were problems with the water in the town, the hostess informed us immediately. Parking is a bit of a problem, because our Toyota bakkie couldn't really fit under the canopy. Also, both residential units were rented out, so in order to get in and out, the person who stood in front and wanted to drive had to embarrassingly ask the other tenants to move their vehicle each time. Furthermore, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay.
Beautiful place, very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Everything you might need, including emergency lights etc. which helps if the power goes out. Walking distance from the village's interesting shops. Directly opposite a beautiful little church, where we could hear the church bells ringing on Sunday morning. We were there with a motorbike and would only suggest a lockable gate to the carport, but with a vehicle it wouldn't be a problem. Had a great time and definitely value for money.
Close to the village in Clarens.
The Attic is very nicely located. Walking distance from everything. Everything you need for a weekend away. However, we had a bad experience with the restaurant/hangout right below the sleeping area. They hung out and played loud music from 00:00 until after 02:00 in the morning.
Very cute apartment, well furnished with a nice view. Nice walking distance from everything. Owner was very helpful with a reservation at the last minute. The covered parking just doesn't feel completely safe and the entrance is terribly narrow between stairs and lots of flower pots, it was difficult with a big car. The noise from the restaurant below the apartment was also very disturbing when we wanted to sleep early, you could hear every bump and push. Other than that quite pleasant.
Very well situated and neat accommodation. Well equipped with everything you need. Welcoming and friendly owner who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was very enjoyable.
What a lovely place! The Attic is centrally located. Safe, comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend it.
Spacious and clean. Has every thing you need. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Far enough to have peace and quiet after shopping. Beautiful lookout over mountains on stoep. Loved the sound of church bell. You must take a drive to Jackal's Hill for a relaxing lunch. Amazing cheese platters from a variety of award wining products made by owner Valerie. Thank you Valerie. Was highlight of our trip.
We were within walking distance of everything.
After booking the weekend for our first wedding anniversary and then having to postpone it due to lockdown, Valerie was very accomodating with our date changes and then again with an impromptu change when we heard there might be snow (there wasn't). The Attic is amazingly located, a mere block from the main square, and well kitted out for a weekend away. Valerie was once again very accommodating when we managed to lock ourselves out due to the door being able to be locked without the key and managed to get a spare key to us within an hour, even with it being after 7pm on a Saturday. Thanks for an amazing stay and for making our (belated) first-anniversary special.
Just what is needed for a lovely weekend getaway. We did just sleep there and mostly browsed around the town and visited the restaurants. Only negative is that there is no fan or air conditioning in the place.
Safety is improved by not having the accommodation serviced but guests should be advised up front that there is no servicing. Was not a problem for us but would have been good to know.
Lovely accommodation in the heart of Clarens on the main road, close to shops and restaurants. Clean and comfortable, extra comfy beds!
It's on top of a restaurant and small sounds can be heard. Will still recommend as it's a comfortable overnight stay.
All good. Will stay here again when I’m in the area.
Service was great, good value for money. Have recommended this place to several friends. Will definitely visit again for longer. Place is well-equipped and has a lovely, homely atmosphere. Ten out of ten.
We will definitely be visiting again.
We had a very nice stay at The Attic. If I can only make one negative comment, it is the fact that the place is above a restaurant. Unfortunately, the bedroom is above the kitchen and of course there is the usual noise from a restaurant kitchen till about 12 in the evening. Other than that, our stay at The Attic was very nice. Is walking distance away from town and it is not necessary to drive anywhere in Clarens.
Very cute place. It's in a safe area and definitely value for money.
We were three people and there were only two beds made. This was the only negative. It is situated in town and you could walk to all the shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.
The Attic in Clarens has a great location and is within walking distance of all the shops and eateries in town. The unit is very nice inside and functional, however there were some points of the place that were not up to standard. 1 - There was no complimentary coffee, sugar or milk in the unit, only tea bags. The staff of Addo's were so kind to provide us with milk and sugar. 2 - The unit was not very clean, there were used sugar packets and dust lying on the floor next to the fridge and there is a sherry container in the unit which was empty but the inside of the bottle had the last few sticky drops stuck to it sat 3 - The power plugs in the room went off more than once and the power box is not in the unit but in Addos located under the unit. Very inconvenient. 4 - The geyser was not set to hot, so the hot water was only lukewarm and not hot at all. 5 - There is covered parking (which does not lock and is very narrow) on the premises, but there is no fence so the parking is not safe. I would like to visit the establishment again as the location is so convenient, but first all the problems will have to be looked at and improved.
They are very accommodating and there was someone that received us at arrival. Communication was on par but the best was the comfortable accommodation. Thank you for a very clean and safe environment. Just loved the stay.
Very cute place and will visit again, thanks for hospitality.
It was a great, clean, safe place to stay, friendly and helpful owner who made us feel so at home. It is within walking distance of the business district. Would happily recommend to anyone without children or older people, the stairs could be a problem for older people.
Very nice stay. Could walk where we wanted to be. Slept well, wonderful view and car safely under cover.
The accommodation was top notch. Very well located, walking distance from town. Was always clean and tidy and the people were always helpful.
We had a nice 2 night stay at The Attic. It was neat and clean, with everything you need (except in case of no power!). Great for 2 people. Brilliantly located, 2 minute walk to town square. The parking space, though off street, is not enclosed (so not a lock up space) and a very tight spot for a large vehicle to fit in! It seemed safe enough. The power went out 2 times during our stay. The Attic is not geared for power outage at night (please correct me if I'm wrong!) No additional lights or candles that we could locate, using cell phone flashlights, 2 tiny candles on table) and the fire lighter provided in the kitchen for the gas stove does not work (must have been previously broken). The coffee shop downstairs is now a restaurant, open in the evenings. You do hear the noise (people talking etc, not music), especially at closing time when staff are cleaning up. All in all it was a good stay. We will stay again, given the location and that it was clean and well looked after.
Very big and neat, close to restaurants.
There was just no air-conditioning and the place got quite hot.
Very cosy and warm. Had a great stay!
Very nice and pleasant place, neat and clean.
Recommend The Attic with confidence!
It's a fantastic place for a weekend (or longer). We had a sports event at the stadium and it was walking distance and still a safe location. I would definitely book my place for next year's event at The Attic again.
My husband and I with our two sons spent one night in Clarens at The Attic. Valerie, the owner was friendly and helpful. She and LekkeSlaap gave us excellent service. The unit is very comfortable, clean, tidy with everything we needed. The Attic is on the main street a few steps from the shops and restaurants. It was so nice and quiet in the evening, we slept very well. We will definitely stay there again. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Highland Restaurant, just down the street.
The attic is located above a coffee shop, approximately one block from the centre of Clarens. Very neat and clean accommodation and spacious enough for a family of 4 people. The owner, who also owns the coffee shop, and the manager went out of their way to make us feel at home. Across the street is the NG church and every hour it announces the time. Parking is a huge problem in Clarens and the Attic is within walking-distance from everything. So it was never necessary to look for parking. There is a small Weber braai on the balcony, we used it every night and enjoyed working with such a small braai for a change.
Baie netjies en gerieflik. Ligging was perfek en alles was binne loopafstand.
Sal beslis weer The Attic besoek!
Well equipped kitchen. Especially suited to a family of 4 for a weekend in Clarens, if they want to prepare their own meals. For them it would be good value for money. For just two people it's a bit expensive. The attic could be very hot/cold in midsummer or winter, but there is a fan and heater.
Nice close to everything, walking distance and just out of the very busy center of the village. The house is very cozy and well furnished.
Although only 1 night's stay, it met the basic needs of cleanliness, safety. The location is excellent, within walking distance of everything, places to eat etc.
Well located, neatly furnished and very comfortable. Would have appreciated safer parking.
Very comfortable spot in Clarens. Well situated in Main Street. Extremely clean, spacious and well equipped. We had a real good time. Wonderful hostess/owner - Valerie, you are great! We will be back!
It was very nice. The place is perfect for a couple looking for a getaway.
