My partner and I started our annual leave in the Blacksmith's cottage and oh my! We were so happy. It's absolutely stunning and the most cosy stay. It really exceeded all of our expectations. We would love to come back again to experience it in the winter. I can only imagine how perfect it would be then! The hosts were very understanding of our situation when we arrived later than anticipated and were very responsive. Would recommend this stay for anyone who needs a cosy breakaway and would also like to explore the little town of Hopefield.

Very nice stay. The silence is exactly what the soul needs.
Nice quiet place. Quietly furnished with beautiful yellow wood floors et al. A lot of effort has been put into the cottage to comfortably equip it for guests! The turtle, sheep and chickens made us feel like we were living on a farm!
The cottage is comfortably furnished, and there are delicious treats such as fresh milk and tasty biscuits. The owners make an effort to make the visit pleasant. A big problem was the so-called 'wood burner' which simply kept smoking with hours and hours of attempts and calls between me and the owner (they were away for the weekend). It was very cold, and later I had to open the door and all the windows to try to get the smoke out. This unfortunately spoiled the visit for me - my chest was tight and it smelled strongly of straw inside.
Been there before and will always return.

We will refer friends to the Blacksmith's Cottage in Hopefield anytime. It's idyllic, it's quiet and gives a fantastic opportunity to rest after any business season. Within 15 to 20 minutes' drive you will come to the most incredible stopping places such as Dwarskersbos, Jackobsbaai, Riebeek Kasteel and Langebaan. If you feel your battery needs charging this is the place to be. There was so much effort and attention to things like coffee, sugar and milk in the fridge was excellent. Will definitely return there.
