The house is on a corner lot, one house away from the Berg River and one of the few places in Velddrif that offers direct access to the water. A security gate provides quick access from the house through an alley to the river.
This property can accommodate a total of 6 guests at a time and comprises 2 interleading loft bedrooms with low ceilings giving the feel of being on a boat, 1 bathroom, as well as a guest toilet. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. To access the second bedroom, guests will have to enter through the first bedroom. These bedrooms share a bathroom located downstairs, fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
The open-plan living area features a kitchen fully equipped with a 2-plate induction stove, convection microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer, chest freezer, cutlery, and crockery, as well as a central 10-seater dining table. A washing machine and dishwasher are also available in the kitchen. Leading from the kitchen is a cosy lounge with an indoor braai, comfortable seating, and a TV. Board games and a dartboard are also available.
In addition, the property has an outdoor area with an enclosed boma braai area and a cement court for sporting activities. The home features an additional outdoor bathroom with a toilet and a wash basin. The location of this home is within walking distance of the Berg River, providing quick access to the water. Pets are allowed by prior arrangement and the property is fully fenced.
Guests can enjoy facilities such as kayaking in the river; there are 2 kayaks with life jackets available for guests to use; fishing in the river is very popular; fishing gear is available for use. Guests can bring their boats and use the dock which is close to the house.

It had been a lovely weekend. The Boathouse has everything you need for a fantastic break with family and friends. You can literally just pack your towels; otherwise there is everything you need. The owner has definitely thought of everything and more that is needed. The massive indoor grill is an absolute winner! We are already planning our next getaway there!

As a family of 5 adults and 3 dogs, we had an extremely enjoyable holiday at The Boathouse and relaxed over Christmas and New Year. The house is well laid out and equipped with what one needs for relaxing and visiting. The indoor and outdoor barbecue areas especially got a lot of discount during our stay. The owner, André, answered our questions in a flash and also gave us suggestions of activities that we could do in the area. He went out of his way to make it as comfortable as possible for us. Even all the equipment in the house, like the kayaks, was available for our use. And the access to the private jetty makes visiting around sunset something special. Although there was no WiFi available during our stay, there were signs that the installation of fiber in the area was underway. The Boathouse can be confidently recommended to anyone who wants to venture out in the Velddrif area.
Excellently equipped kitchen and lovely braai and living space. My dad, who is very tall, couldn't stand up straight in the bedrooms (all located upstairs), but should be fine for average height people. The bathroom is downstairs. Very close to the river to take long and relaxing walks.
Really enjoyable. The house is well-furnished. Darts, games, a lovely indoor braai and a big outdoor braai pit. All amenities are there, including a chest freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. We had a really enjoyable few days, including using the kayaks on the river. Would highly recommend it.
Had such an amazing time at this beautiful house which was well equipped with everything we needed, so peaceful and fully enclosed so our fur baby was free to explore without us having to worry about him getting out. Thank you so much to Andre who was a great host and very kind and accommodating. Really the most beautiful sunsets! We will definitely be back soon!
The owner of the house is really a lovely person. He is super organised and attentive and if we had any questions, he was always on WhatsApp to answer us. The house is lovely, has everything you need and more. The river is super close, the kayaking is awesome. The linen was new and clean. We loved our stay!

Host was very welcoming. All needs were catered for, from household appliances and utensils to entertainment (darts, games, TV, kayaks, fishing rods). The home was clean and comfortable and near the lagoon. Shops, Marina and restaurants in walking distance from the house. Great value for money.
The Boathouse is ideally located. Just a few steps and you are at the river. It has a lovely open-plan sitting area and outdoor barbecue. Ideal for a nice weekend.
The Boathouse welcomed us with open arms. The owner is really very friendly and made sure that everything was perfect. The place has everything and more that one needs and was very clean and tidy. We enjoyed every moment of the visit. A few meters from the river one could experience the most beautiful sunset and just take in the beauty on the bench. Definitely worth it.
