This is a very nice place to stay. It is clean and the lounge area makes it so cozy.
Perfect house for family with children. Large open lawns, beautiful views, nice patio and fireplace inside for the cold days. There is also a winery around the corner that is open on Saturday.
The house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The lawn was ideal for smaller children and the river literally on the front porch. There are nice braai facilities on the veranda overlooking the river and the kitchen with the dishwasher was a bonus! The road is quite steep to the bottom and WiFi would be recommended. Other than that, everything was great!
Very child friendly as we could take long walks along the river and there is more than enough space for bicycles.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, as we always do at the Breede. Our stay at this property was marred by the fact that there is an active business next door (gardening, cleaning, and possibly more, including what appears to be a boat repair service) with consequent noise and traffic (the business and the holiday house are only meters apart). We found the incursion of the business staff onto the property on foot and in vehicles (to render services to all the properties along that stretch) intrusive, but the owner has indicated he will address this with the business.
Disappointed. Many lights off, plates in cupboard dirty full of hard food, house was not very clean and prepared for our arrival. We just had to sweep and move buckets around, wet lick spots. For the price it was quite a disappointment for me upon arrival. Otherwise had a great time.
The house was comfortable and and plenty on offer, 2 fridges were a win! Especially if you a big group. 4 bathrooms ie. an en suite for each room, was awesome! Great lawn in front of the house to hang out on a hot day. Ticks many boxes! And not much to improve on, besides maybe a sign board at each turn for the house, some of our friends got lost.
We stayed at The Breede River Getaway House in early Jan 2019 as a family. The house has all necessary equipment and facilities for a great holiday. The house is positioned for peace and tranquillity on the water, and offers fantastic slipway and private jetty and docking facilities on the property for boating/fishing enthusiasts. The house is laid out nicely with a wonderful balcony area with built-in braai overlooking the water which really created a good gathering spot for us in the warmer part of the day when shelter was needed and our gathering spot in the evenings for great braai's, conversation and games evenings. Highly recommended!
Ideal for groups and families with children aged 5 and over due to stairs. Beautiful lawn. Lovely patio with a view of the river. Comfortable beds and lovely that each room has its own bathroom.

What a wonderful, cosy and comfortable house. We loved the view of the river from the deck. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer!
One of the best weekends spent in the most serene setting. The Breede River Getaway Home exceeded our expectations. We will certainly be coming back to this perfect spot. Had a most fantastic family weekend. Thank you.
Cleanliness needs attention, spectacular view!
Will definitely stay there again. Just a pity about the house next door which poses a health risk and is dilapidated with children who might wander there. But realize it has nothing to do with the owners, but maybe just trying to camp if possible so children can't get in there.
It really is a lovely, clean living house with everything you need. Wish the weekend was longer...
Location of house next to river is good. The only inconvenience is that the water is not potable, and garbage has to be carried quite a distance to be disposed of. It would be even better if the units were equipped with air conditioners. Otherwise, our time there was good and we will definitely go there again.
