Reception was the one positive item. The front door is broken and cracking apart. You can stand inside and look through the cracks (can be fixed for under R100.00 with brown painters mate silicon and a caulking gun - 5 minutes). Went out to supper and got back a bit late. Children wanted to shower - no towels. Fortunately, we had swimming towels with us. Wanted to relax, no DSTV operational, rebooted and tried all the normal tricks, nothing. The following morning wanted to wash dishes - no sponge, dish cloth or drying cloth. Really not the service I expected.
The single rooms only have a bed and a small fridge. There is no place to work like a small table with a chair. Perhaps other rooms were equipped with it, but it was not offered. Otherwise everything was good.

We were only looking for an overnight stay, but have never experienced such a limited space, yet the hospitality was exceptional.
You cannot work in your room. Too small.
The lodge looks particularly stylish and very neat from the outside. Inside one big disappointment. Rooms so small that there is not even room for suitcases! No bedside lamp is connected because contact wires do not reach contact points. For 4 guests, only two towels are provided, too little toilet paper. Only 3 seats in living area for 4 guests. Two glasses for 4 guests, too few teaspoons, etc. That said, upon inquiry some of the things were corrected, but I feel it's not up to the standard one would expect. Not the website's fault, just poor management. Also only one mirror in living area with none in bedroom or bathroom. So beautiful from outside, but inside poor although clean and tidy.
Better information can be provided on arrival such as about the wireless network. Housekeeping staff should stock up on consumables that need refilling (soap and toilet paper). If you are an early mover and late returner, services such as car washes do not really apply to you. If you prefer to drink wine from a wine glass, bring your own.
Very small rooms! There was no ashtray in the room. Not suitable for more than one person! There was only one large bath towel and one small bath towel. Only one roll of toilet paper! Is on the main road and was very noisy! Parking also a problem! Would not recommend for more than one person!

We enjoy the location, cleanliness and safety of The Cape Lodge. We were so looking forward to the delicious breakfast they always make, but to our disappointment there was no breakfast available. We had to drive out if we wanted to enjoy breakfast. It was really a disappointment because their breakfast is top notch.
Very quiet area, although it sits on the main road there is some noise. Our apartment had everything we needed and there were also braai facilities available.
My daughter used Cape Lodge in December and recommended us to sleep there, was not disappointed. Thank you very much.

Room way too small, no place to put luggage. Hand basin pathetically small. Blinds and curtains inadequate - outside lights illuminate the room and it remains dusky. Sharp red and blue lights from TV shine directly on one's eyes and are very disturbing. Lodge too close to N14; cars and especially the trucks make noise throughout the night and it's hard to sleep.
Our family spent the night at The Cape Lodge on the way back to the Cape from the Kgalagadi. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The guest house is neat and nicely laid out but it is a great pity that the site is located right next to a major main road and the cars and trucks make an enormous noise until late at night which is very disturbing. We wanted to be well rested for the previous day's long road route, but the noise bothered us quite a bit. The guest house staff also needs to do a little better quality management because of a number of small things that were wrong such as e.g. it is a self-heating unit and there is a 2-plate stove but no pots or pans. Only 1 teaspoon for 4 persons. No soap or cloths in the kitchen. No hand wash soap or body wash soap for guests. No reception of free WiFi and the DStv didn't work - although the staff replaced the decoder after I reported it. These are all small things that bother people and which I believe the management can easily fix. It's a shame the guest house is next to a main road - because of that our family will most likely not stay there again.
Then one small request at the sink in the bathroom, we tall people would like to be able to use the mirror.

We were received friendly and helpful and were able to sleep well without inconvenience after we went to buy food elsewhere. Parents with children should rather avoid pocket-sized rooms and book the larger self-catering units. The rooms are located near the main road, but our two units did not experience much noise from trucks. Walls between units have only moderate sound attenuation. Fortunately there is a bathroom in between.

Room is advertised with a queen size bed. Bed was double and room was cramped I assume that's why there is no longer a queen size bed. It is advertised as a detached unit which was not detached. Shower does not have shelves for soap etc. Breakfast was delicious!
The overview for the unit we booked and paid for gives the impression that it is a luxury unit with two rooms, one with two single beds and the other with a queen size bed. It also claims an en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is only a double bed and no en suite, only a bathroom with shower in the unit. This unit is so small and cramped that there is not even room to put a single suitcase down in the rooms. There is room for 4, but only seating for 3 in the small living room. There is no mirror of any kind in the bedrooms and only a mirror in the living room. It's located right next to the busy N14 and very noisy. It was very uncomfortable and unpleasant to be 4 people in this "luxury family unit". There is also no breakfast or dinner offered in the dining room of the reception room.

Was pleasantly surprised with friendliness and how clean and tidy unit was. The air conditioning was a plus in the very hot weather. Unfortunately could not eat breakfast which was recommended due to load shedding, so I can recommend that the resort acquires a gas stove. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The house we stayed in was very neat and clean. The lodge is very clean outside and has a nice atmosphere. There was plenty of space for us 3 adults. The beds sleep comfortably. There is a mini stove, but no pots or pans were provided so we had to go for breakfast at their restaurant. They forgot to provide toilet paper and we also had to ask for dish soap.

We were travelling to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and arrived at the lodge after 20:00. We were welcomed by a very friendly and professional lady, after which she accompanied us to the unit. The chalet was clean, linen and towels white, fitted with the necessary crockery, coffee station and a small fridge. Secure parking for vehicle. In my opinion, good value for money. The Cape Lodge can be recommended for a good night's sleep.

The Cape Lodge was our last stop on a 9 day tour. It is simply a bed with a shower. Very small and no self-catering facilities. There was only one towel, and no door or shower mat. It simply cannot be compared at all to any of the other places we have stayed. We were really very disappointed.

It is very nice to be able to unpack in a cozy destination after a long and tiring drive. The private outdoor garden makes the stay even more enjoyable. Thanks to the diligent car washer, we were even able to continue our journey in a clean car - that was definitely a bonus!
