This is an absolutely stunning house located at the top of the mountains with amazing view over the town.
Our group was on a Swartland wine trip. The house is close to most of the attractions in Riebeeck-Kasteel and surrounds. The kitchen needs some more pots, serving dishes and small utensils for proper self-catering. Hot showers were a problem (probably due to loadshedding while we were there) as well as slow drainage in the showers. I would definitely stay there again. Moses was a gracious host and Jose was an unexpected extra who serviced the house daily.

A shy girl welcomed us. She was very helpful and friendly. It felt a bit impersonal because the owner lives elsewhere. The wi-fi does not work in the rooms, only in the living room. There was power (battery, inverter) when the outage kicked in. Thanks for that.
The house is very neat and nicely decorated. Layout is fantastic and it has a beautiful view. Beds are very comfortable. Knives and forks etc. is not sufficient, very little, old and not one sharp knife in the kitchen. Plates, bowls, glasses are new and more than enough. Provision for wood and matches would be appreciated as there is a fireplace and barbecue. Please also provide guests with a note with the WiFi code. The weekend at Die Kasteel was lovely! Would 100% recommend if the above is addressed.
The room that we were in did not have a dressing table or any table to put things like a coffee table. The tea tray in the cupboard was very awkward. There was nowhere to put rubbish.
When staying alone at Die Kasteel, as we luckily found, it is a good accommodation option. Personally, we don't think it would have worked for us if we had to share the common areas with other strangers.
There were 2 problems. For 1 I asked for an honesty fridge and as per the owner confirmed it was not available and then there was no hot water on Saturday morning even though we were only two couples in the whole house. Otherwise we will very very definitely stay there again.
Only overnight but can definitely recommend it.
It's a very beautiful place.
The house has a nice view over the village. The balcony runs right around the house. The neat garden is in four terraces. There is also a swimming pool for the summer months. The house is very well maintained and Jimmy received us kindly. Would definitely recommend it.
The bathroom of the middle room we stayed in had a bad sewage/mushroom smell. More can be done to clean the house.
Moses was extremely friendly and accommodating. Very nice rooms, views, clean and neat.

The Castle's location was beautiful, the rooms and house were very neat and beautiful. The lady who helped us was also very friendly and helpful.
