What an unforgettable experience. From the natural beauty to the most delicious meals, hiking trails, horse riding and much more to do or just sit back with a good book and enjoy the view.
From the time you arrive until you leave, it's a vacation experience. Staff very friendly and helpful, facilities excellent, the meals very tasty and the room neat and spacious. (Although the thatched roof helps a lot, on a very hot day an air conditioner might be more handy than the roof fan.) We forgot stuff in the bathroom and were contacted to let us know it was at reception - it just might "disappeared". Luckily we were still at the spa and could pick it up later.
Enjoyed the short walks and of course the meals and tea time were a treat.

All I can say is wow, the Cavern exceeded my expectations, the location was amazing, I love that it feels remote but you are provided with all the luxuries at the same time. I simply loved my stay there, the service provided was exceptional. I have food intolerances and I really appreciate the very kind chef preparing me a special plate. My birthday in the dining area was also made special with the singing, decorated table and menu provided, I really felt special. The massage at the forest retreat was also amazing thanks to our super-talented therapists. Thank you The Cavern Drakensberg Resort & Spa, I hope to be back soon.
A family run retreat for the past 80 years who pay attention to service, well-tended facilities and accommodation. A getaway for the bird-enthusiast, mountain cyclist, hiker or for quiet relaxation. The spa treatment in the Fern Forest Retreat was a highlight as was the well-stocked wine cellar. A value for money stay.

Rest or roam as much as you like in this beautiful, graceful hotel in the heart of the Drakensberg. Staff are well trained, the service and food are great and the gardens a loop court. Various walking routes and other activities are offered for the energetic while the spa ensures delicious pampering sessions.
Rooms very nice with a nice view. Food nice but not as good as other famous hotels lower down in the Drakensberg but good value for money nonetheless. The waiters can know a little more about our country because there are many tourists. Funny when a German asked what kudu steak was and told her it was "a bird with red meat".

The stay was pleasant and quiet. There were a variety of walking routes to suit different needs. The meals were excellent. The evening's entertainment could suit every taste.
Beautiful location with exceptional service and character. Staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. There are so many activities, things to do and places to rest on site. Ideal for singles, couples, groups of friends and families with children of all ages. Will definitely visit and recommend The Cavern Drakensberg Resort & Spa again.
Couldn't have asked for a better place. Staff extremely competent, food was excellent, rooms beautifully new. Everything was an excellent stay. Spa something special!

All meals included in the rate add to the convenience. There are many activities to participate in. The surroundings are picturesque and it is very peaceful. We will definitely return, especially for the "spa".
This is our third time there. If the Lord spares our lives, we want to go every year.
The standard room was neat and very comfortable. Unfortunately we were unable to participate in any activities, but would definitely recommend The Cavern for families with and without children. The meals are very tasty and of high quality. The service excellent! Wish we could have stayed longer! Note that the road to the resort is very bad...
We enjoyed it so much at The Cavern, people are friendly and very helpful and the food is top notch. Will definitely go back there again and recommend it to anyone to relax there.
