85 guests' feedbackThe place was perfect and even our dog enjoyed it very much in the nice big garden. If I could name something, there was no braai bowl. Other than that it was a beautiful place. Thank you.
A charming, spacious cottage with a lovely Karoo garden. We had a log fire as it was a very cold night. Tasteful traditional decor in keeping with the history of the cottage.
A really lovely cottage with a gorgeous view and garden. We will be back for longer.
We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful cottage, which was equipped with everything we could possibly need and more! The space was generous, featuring a stunning fireplace stocked with plenty of wood to last the entire stay. The bedroom was separate from the living room and kitchen, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it. We'll definitely be returning. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, and the cottage is within walking distance of town.
The cottage was just perfect. Beautiful, comfortable furnishings with everything you need.
The accommodation was in a perfect condition, the reception friendly and efficient. We loved the interior decorations.
We had a great time. It was a nice cold day and the fireplace was already lit on our first day of arrival. Everything was perfect. Thank you very much.
Very practical place to stay. There is everything you need. Stayed there for two nights and it was lovely!
Very pleasant stay. Kindest welcome. Nice quiet old fashioned place. I would love to stay longer.
We loved our stay at the cottage, situated in a lovely quiet street close to town. The cottage shares a large garden with the Farmhouse, which is perfectly pet friendly. The cottage has a fenced-in area off the verandah, which makes it very private, and you can keep the dogs out of the garden. It is very comfortably decorated in a very eclectic style, and it had everything we needed, including air conditioning! We will definitely stay again.
When in Prince Albert, you have to stay in a place with history and character - and the cottage is exactly that! It's built in the 19th century and has so many interesting historic books and antiques. The house is big and has everything you need. The kitchen is gorgeous and it looks out onto a charming garden (which our dog loved). Also within walking distance from shops and restaurants.
Pleasant stay for a family of three. The kitchen is very well equipped with rooibos 'sticks' tea which is a favorite in our family.
There are places where you get a week's rest in a day or two, this is one of those places.
The cottage was one of the best self-catering places we have ever stayed in. Spacious, mosquito-netted bed, aircon, a real blessing, and a lovely stoep. We'll definitely stay there again, maybe in cooler months though!
We had a great time in Prince Albert and thoroughly enjoyed The Cottage. Everything you need was there and more. Quiet and peaceful almost farm atmosphere. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
Had a great time, good location.
Everything we needed for a pleasant stay was there and in good working order.
Nice to be able to walk to the main street from the cottage. Some amazing old history to be seen.
Beautiful tasteful fully equipped cottage.
One feel very safe even in the evenings. The people are very friendly.
The location is quite central, the cottage is comfortable and beautifully decorated, with perfect taste and care. We loved the outdoor shower (water quite hot, so even on a cool day it was lovely!), and the charming kitchen. Even the playlist was just what we liked!
Quiet environment with everything you need.
See stars.
Spacious, but not clean. Dust and cobwebs everywhere and lots of flies. Cemetery right next door.
We enjoyed the stay which was very pet friendly with a massive garden and lovely interior.
We had a lovely stay in The Cottage. This historic building has been beautifully maintained and offers quality equipment. We were surprised by the quality music our host loaded on iPod. We could sit on the veranda and look out over the large garden, field and the mountains in the background. I would love to stay there again.
Will definitely return for a longer stay. Highly recommended and good value for money!
Beautiful place, would like to visit longer.
The place is very comfortable with all the necessary facilities and plenty of warm clothes for a cold winter evening. Lorna is an excellent hostess.
Beautiful unit. Fully equipped. Very clean and tidy. Real country hospitality. Friendly staff.
We were very kindly received by Lorna Botha. We will definitely stay there again.
We booked The Cottage to use as a base to explore Prince Albert and do the Swartberg Pass nearby. The cottage is very comfortable and quaint. We loved the old kitchen and bathroom fixtures and all the memorabilia. The outside shower was nice as it was hot, but I'm not sure about winter when it's cold or in the rain. Our only recommendation to other visitors is to bring plenty of mosquito repellent and Doom. There are many mosquitos around in Prince Albert.
Lovely rural village feel, very friendly reception!
The cottage is very well equipped - everything has been thought of. High quality fittings and very clean and tidy!
This cottage is absolutely stunning. We could not have asked for better accommodation in Prince Albert. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, but it won't happen again! Three nights minimum next time.
We appreciated our host's concern about our late arrival due to some heavy rain on the way.
What a wonderful stay-on-the-farm feeling, with the lovely veranda on which you can relax. The house is fully equipped and with all the beautiful interesting things on shelves it feels wonderfully homely. The outdoor shower is a total winner! We will stay there again and again!
Perfectly chosen decor. Friendly atmosphere. Great hosts. The base from which to explore the area.
The Cottage is a warm, cozy place. The detail in decorations attracted my attention and was appreciated. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Thanks, we will come again.
The old building has been beautifully renovated, with interesting decor and all the accessories one needs to comfortably visit and experience rest. Neat and clean and friendly reception.
Had a wonderful stay in the cottage. Quality bedding - enjoyed the outdoor shower. Will stay there again. Thank you very much!
Conveniently close to amenities and attractions.
We and our 4-foot children had a great stay! Beautiful and neat place with everything you need to relax and appreciate the tranquility of the town.
The Cottage is beautiful, tidy and really a place to rest. Thank you, Simon, for the delicious fresh lettuce and spinach from the garden. We really, really enjoyed the visit. We can confidently recommend The Cottage, and have indeed told all our friends about it.
The cottage met all our needs and we enjoyed the pretty view of the garden with many fruit trees. Thank you!
Good location and privacy.
Many lost memories.
We enjoyed the charm of the cottage and the outside shower. Kitchen floor got wet during thunder storm, but we will excuse it as Prince Albert is not used to thunder storms and the houses are not geared for it. Very glad to experience a thunder storm and a lot of rain in the dry Karoo.

Most wonderful space. Comfortable sleeping place. A huge kitchen and dining area with everything you could need. A large selection of books. Very good value for money.
The Cottage is very well equipped with everything you need to stay over for a few days. It is a quiet haven, just what we needed to switch off after a hectic December.
We had a wonderful stay. The Cottage is beautiful and has everything you need and more. There was even a container of fresh milk in the fridge for us. The outdoor shower is a winner. Estelle was there within 5 min to unlock for us upon our arrival. My husband forgot his patches and cap there. Before we knew it, Elma contacted me and arranged for it to be couriered. Prince Albert is a gem with real country charm!
Excellent, tasteful and luxurious. Friendly reception. It's the place to stay!
We were pleasantly surprised with the place and the special way in which it has been restored - the thick poplar roof beams with the reeds give it a very authentic character. The place is very well equipped and the back porch, outdoor shower and beautiful garden make it a really wonderful experience to stay there. The driver's service is something to experience - you'll look far for better! Thank you very much Elma for your advice, input and kindness - we want to visit again soon!
This is now our third time since June that we have been to Prince Albert and the second time we have stayed in the Cottage. It is truly idyllic and you just fall more and more in love with the place every time, it is my home away from home. We will see you again soon, will definitely go again before the end of the year. Thank you for your hospitality, Elma, you are an asset to any establishment!
The cottage was clean and comfortable. Our bed slept well. The fireplace and garden give character. Most beautiful music selection and interesting books to read.
Everything was perfect. Evertyhing in the cottage was like a fairytale.
The Cottage is artfully and tastefully furnished and has all the necessary equipment for self-catering. The location is excellent and it is within walking distance from the main street and all the restaurants and shops. We can highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again in the future.
The photos do not do the place justice. It's fairytale beautiful. Old world style with modern finishes. The unit has little surprises like Tabard, fresh milk from the local dairy, an iPod full of music with a stereo, a fireplace, Jamie Oliver pots/pans, good knives, exceptional wine glasses and cutlery, good quality ground coffee, tobacco, a outdoor shower, a tea garden, a watering hole... Oh I could go on! I wanted to stay a week. The kitchen begged you to cook, play music and drink red wine. We will go again!
Please see. the stars for an indication.
Enjoyed the evening at the Cottage with my son. Next time will be with my wife and we would hopefully be able to spend more than one night there. Location is tranquil and resonates with the soul.
Het heerlik gekuier, veilig en netjies, die houtkaggel is 'n absolute plus en 'n plesier, Simon baie betrokke en hulpvaardig.
The Cottage was absolutely beautiful inside and out and the garden was also so lush. Peaceful and relaxing surrounding. Elma was a lovely hostess. We had a great stay. Wish we could have stayed longer (like forever)!
Everything was beautiful, and clean, the only problem was a lot of mosquitoes.
Clean with quality self-catering equipment and charming, artistic decor. A comfortable large bed, indoor bath and a lovely outside shower. A shady porch looking onto a large garden for pleasant evening braai and drinks. Quiet neighbourhood with shaded treed streets for walks. Perfect for a couple and one other.
The decor of The Cottage was so beautiful to me. Everything you need at a very reasonable price. Everything is spotless. Will go again for sure.
We arrived very late. Got up early, then only had a little time to look around. Drove on again from there, so didn't have much time to drive extra turns and explore the village, Prince Albert. What we did see was very impressive.
We were three adults and would have definitely preferred more private sleeping space. Blitz or similar fire starter will help a lot. If you stay longer you can of course go shopping. Other than that everything is perfect, would definitely recommend it.
The houses are beautifully furnished and neat.
Thanks Estelle for a warm welcome and a clean, neat house. The outside shower was lovely.
The Cottage is a beautiful little house that offers everything you can expect in a place to stay. Elegant with quality and style. I can definitely recommend it.
Elma immediately made us feel welcome. Beautiful place.
26B De Beer Straat is a comfortable house with everything you need. The fact that the additional bed actually shares a room with the master bedroom can be better described and that it offers no privacy. Very large plot, but is shared with another property - this may also be mentioned. Mosquitoes ate us up - mosquito nets around the beds don't help at all. Mosquito nets in the cottage would be much appreciated. Furthermore, everything was very nice, tidy and comfortable. Many thanks to Elma for the reception and the cleaning.
Beautiful, clean cottage in a quiet area. Lovely garden where our 3 dogs could play. We will be back.
Our two nights at The Cottage were fantastic! The house is very nicely decorated and excellently furnished. It was perfect for us and the three dogs. Unfortunately we didn't have the whole garden to ourselves the first night, because there were guests in the other house, but we and the dogs really enjoyed the garden the second night. Big and beautiful. The beautiful house, garden and town were a pleasure and a highlight of our trip. Elma received us in a friendly and professional manner and was very helpful during our stay. The milk, tea and coffee are much appreciated, as are the recommendations for things to do in town. The Cottage's location is perfect for exploring the pretty town, just a block or two and you are on the main street with galleries, restaurants and the museum. The WiFi didn't work well, but that's a minor thing in this paradise.
The Cottage is one of my favourite places we have stayed. The rich history and beautiful decor were heavenly. Definitely worth another visit.
Lovely, just needed a small aircon in the bedroom, was an incredibly warm weekend and it would've made getting dressed for the wedding easier. Otherwise, the house was lovely and nice to receive guests.
The cottage is located in a quiet street. It's spacious, has beautiful old fashioned decor and modern essentials and kitchen accessories. Despite the cold front, we slept wonderfully warm under cuddly and good bedding. Beautiful garden with many flower bushes, fruit trees and birds singing in the trees. Truly a garden to enjoy in the summer! Elma received us very kindly and we were able to use free WiFi. Would love to stay there again.
We had a wonderful overnight stay and wished that we had stayed longer. Lovely clean premises with very thoughtful touches throughout. Nice quirky interior. Everything functioned easily. Our stay was very comfortable. Elma was a lovely hostess and gave us plenty of information on the area. We will be back for a longer stay and have recommended it to friends and family
The Cottage is very nicely furnished and comfortable. The stove/fireplace in the living room was a winner.
We really enjoyed staying at The Cottage. Simon was a great host. The cottage was very comfortable and clean.
Everything arranged when we got there. Clean and neat. Cottage and interior fits in with the town and its character. Had everything we required. Peaceful and private. Could easily have stayed longer!
See stars.
The Cottage was much more than I expected and we will definitely visit again.
