Perfect for a stay over. No cooking facilities are available if self-catering is required, besides a microwave, but for a short stay, the place worked very well.
Cottage 1 is not fully self-catering as offered in the ad, no cooking device! At first night, no hot water. We had to ask for it the next morning. It should have been checked before our arrival. Both issues were adequately addressed by the host.
We only traveled through for 1 day, and we were able to rest, stretch our legs. The area is quiet, everything is clean and tidy. Thank you very much .

Unfortunately, there was uncertainty about my reservation and I had to provide proof of the reservation on the 2nd morning. It was unpleasant to have to do that.

The room has the basics of what one needs for an overnight stop. There is only a microwave, so it's good for reheating food, but there's no option to boil or fry an egg, for example. Felt safe on the property.
We enjoyed our stay very much. All nice and clean. No coffee or tea and very little sugar. Luckily we took our own with us. Toilet paper was not enough.
The urinal fragrance in the room was overpowering, and there were no windows to open. I struggled a little to breathe.
The fleas ate me alive during the time we stayed there. I asked them to please put Doom Fogger in the rooms but they didn't want to. I did it myself and it helped a little but didn't solve the flea problem. As a result, we checked out early after booking another place to stay. They refused to refund me for the 3 nights we did not stay there. Less of a problem, but still an irritation, is the WiFi that appears to be picked up from the main house. As a result, we had WiFi in the lounge, which is closest to the main house, but not the bedrooms or kitchen. There were sugar and tea in the kitchen but the coffee jar was empty and no milk in the fridge.

Pictures are not what you get. The 2-bedroom unit had a very mouldy smell. The ceiling looks like it was burned; light not properly connected, cracks in the shower with very poor ventilation. I will not be staying there again. They advertise white bedding and you get grey sheets.

We must have waited in the street for about ten to fifteen minutes for the owner to come home from work and open the premises. Although self catering, there was no coffee, tea, milk or sugar. At all previous self-catering places where we have stayed, it was available.
Easily found and centrally located. Was delayed with travel program and then 19h00 arrived after 936 km. Told owner we would arrive later. Please put some ice buckets in the deep freeze, then had to drive to town first to get ice for a drink. On enquiry, I had to learn that they don't provide ice (not expecting a bag) and was then told that it's self-catering and they don't provide it, I just have to go and buy it in town. After we had unpacked and then it was already 19h45 and then just went to buy at a gas station.

It's very disappointing to arrive at a place that doesn't look like the pictures. I went to look at room 1's pictures again and how the place looks is not the same. I prefer a place with white bedding, because then you know it's clean. Bedding had a smell too. I was really nauseous.
The splash pool was a pleasant surprise in the December heat.

We were on our way home from Augrabies. Just a few items in the kitchen to make things more convenient. Double plug so kettle and microwave can work at the same time. Cordless kettle, so that cups and mugs do not have to be taken to existing cordless kettle. Plastic cup to fill kettle, kettle does not fit kitchen sink taps.
Was pleasantly surprised with the size of the place and it had been a pleasant experience. Had a great stay.

Everything was nice, I loved the backyard area for braais and fires. There's a bunny that is fun to pet and the host was great. If I had to point out something, there could be more than one bathroom for a cottage that sleeps 5 and the toilet has no window which can make a bit stuffy. Other than that everything was perfect.

I was there for my husband's illness, I had a wonderful stay. Near hospital, near mall, everything so nice. Being in hospital together and being able to help my husband with assistance was an experience for me. Everything was just perfect.
Just be careful. There are 2 places where tall or broad shouldered people may bump themselves.
We were kindly received in the afternoon. Neat garden with a tame bunny for the children to play with. Our room was very neat and modern. All fixtures worked. All I missed was a bar of soap for the shower, but otherwise I was very satisfied!

It's the second time we've stayed here, very well furnished and comfortable.
There is no hot water, only lukewarm water with very low pressure so showering is uncomfortable. Water in bath is already cold by the time enough has been poured in. The beds' mattresses will need replacing, but are ok for a night's rest. The WiFi is excellent.

Unfortunately I can't recommend anyone to stay here - we definitely won't be back! And photos can be very deceiving. Cleanliness: I can give credit that the unit was clean. Parking: I had to park next to a large bus with barely enough space to pass between the wall and the kombi. The owner had to move the garden pot away so that I could pass. Electric blankets: when I asked if there were electric blankets here, the owner indicated that it is self-catering and that people steal the electric blankets, so they don't provide them. The single duvets are so thin that I had to throw the extra double duvet over the bed for adequate warmth. Meals: I inquired in advance via WhatsApp about the meals that can be ordered. My query has been ignored. Microwave oven: I made sure in advance that there was a microwave oven - mercifully we decided not to heat the meal we had planned because the microwave oven was not working - I couldn't even heat a hot bag in the cold - after 2 minutes he was still cold. Electricity: The power trips when the 2 heaters in the room and the boiler are equal. The bedside lights on the bedside table don't even have space where they can be plugged in. Luckily we had a multiplug or we wouldn't have been able to charge our cell phones. Bathroom: The shower is a freezing cold cement shower - unfinished. I was the only person (of 3) who showered that night and the water was freezing cold (and it's winter). The next morning the other 2 persons also had a cold shower. On the shelf is an old, half-used bottle of shower soap.

The room I stayed in has no ventilation (windows), bathroom has no door and blinds in front of window in sort are totally broken, and privacy when using sort and bathroom is a big challenge. Owner was informed that our room was found dirty with cobwebs and dirty cutlery. Then had to sanitize it on our own. He mentioned that he would attend to it, but for the four days the towels were only changed once and room cleaning (cobwebs) was still there. Wow.

We were not considered at all with load shedding. No information and no schedule to warn in advance. As if the drivers just shrugged when the power went out Saturday morning with coffee, shower, breakfast. One would think they would at least give advance notice. Power tripped twice (not from load shedding) and driver had to go into adjoining cottage twice to start. Had to wait. Very cold space: "unfortunately we don't have a heater". There is no hanging space or closets! Not even a wall hook. Had to put coats on bed and then floor to go to sleep. No additional blankets: "if you still need them, we will bring them from the main house". The so-called modern floor finish of epoxy cement was unapproachably cold, unhomely, unpleasant and dirty looking. You wanted to lift your feet off the floor all the time. The fees per night's stay were fair and not overwhelmingly expensive, but we left with the feeling that the managers only minimally looked after us and really didn't care about customer service. This is an honest opinion and we cannot give a different report.
The pics were deceiving, beds were not comfortable, shower was not pleasant to small, light switches were confusing would not recommend.

We were in Kimberley to visit a friend in the hospital, and the hospital was within walking distance through a very safe neighbourhood. There was also a good mall en-route and fast WiFi at the cottage. All we could possibly need.

Parking can be a problem. Vehicles must park behind each other. We have a small car and were able to park next to the other guests' vehicle, but almost in the back door of the house. May be inconvenient for owner.

Plekkie is very well furnished, it has everything you need, it was clean and tidy when we arrived. We were welcomed by the owner, he was also very helpful where we needed help. The Cottage is situated in a very quiet decent area, and there is secure parking behind steel gates. We had a great time there, there is also a fantastic braai area for a nice visit.

The lounge and kitchen were spacious and all rooms were clean. Complaints: Struggling to find destination. Simon / Simons Road / street. Shower's result is slow, causing water to accumulate at your feet! DStv didn't work.
The cottage was large enough to easily accommodate 4 adults, with nice decor and linens. The kitchen however was not clean, and all the dishes and cutlery had to be washed before use. Our host was really great, and the place was secure.
Definitely short of new beds, we only had cold water even after they came to check. The shower is only for people who are 1.7 m tall, otherwise you cannot fit under the roof. Kitchen has dangerous corner cupboard right where you walk in which almost hit my husband in the eye. Finishes in the bathroom in particular are not finished, raw cement etc. The doors and walls could be cleaned a little better, especially on corners and near tiles in the bathroom. It ruins the place.
Hadison Park accommodation is an apartment on a stand-alone plot and you don't have to worry about noisy people on the same premises. The apartment is beautiful and all necessities are available. Thanks for the availability of extra blankets in the cupboards for a cold Kimberley. On our trip you were the only accommodation where there were extra blankets available, at our other accommodation we had to ask for blankets. Will not stay anywhere else if we travel through Kimberley again.

It is a single unit for only one group behind a residential home. The renovations on the shower was not finished. Other than that it is comfortable accommodation with a very friendly owner.
The Cottage is a neat guest house. It satisfies all basic needs. The only thing I would changes is to have fresh milk in the fridge for people how do not like powdered milk. The people are friendly, the place is lovely and modern is there is enough warm bedding and kitchenware.

Die badkamerpype is nie reg gekoppel nie. Nadat ons gebad het, het al die water uit die stort op die badkamervloer en kombuisvloer geloop. As ek my geld kon terugkry, sou ek dit graag wou doen. Dit was belaglik om na 8 ure se ry en bietjie na die gat in Kimberly te gaan kyk en dan terug te kom om 'n lekker bad te vat en dan in stink water te staan en droogmaak.
They need to learn what is customer service. There's huge difference between free accommodation and paid accommodation, they are treating the guests as if they had no other options and one must just settle for what they are offering. The place is so not clean, old furniture and services is not there at all.
Construction not yet completed. Not at all practically furnished. Not enough crockery and linen. Bath faucet not working. Boiler not working. Power plugs don't work. Didn't feel welcome at all.

We traveled from Bloemfontein to Kimberley for a school performance and decided to stay at The Cottage. We had a wonderful stay. We were kindly received, the unit is safe, clean, comfortable and very beautiful. The best thing was to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee after a long, busy day in the peaceful garden with beautiful trees. Would love to recommend it to everyone.

'The cottage' was everything we needed and more. People were very friendly. In a very safe and neat suburb which is only about 2 km from 'the big hole' so very convenient. Spur and shopping centres were very close as well. So all in all the best location one could wish for. As for the actual establishment, it was neat, clean and very nice. Very warm duvets - extra blankets if needed - comfy pillows with wall heaters in each room. Nicely furnished and we will most definitely return again if we ever have to stop by in and visit Kimberley. Were were very pleasantly surprised and thank you for the two days we spent with you.

Good beds.
The bursting of a water pipe in Kimberley initially put a damper on our visit until the owners of the place went out of their way to make everything as pleasant as possible for us. At the end of the day it was a particularly pleasant stay.
But we were disappointed that there was a DStv decoder but no DStv access. The owner simply said "sorry" when I wanted to know what's up with it. I reckon DStv is a general requirement for accommodation.
The place has a lot of potential, especially because there are not many affordable self-catering units for families in Kimberley. Unfortunately, they may have to look at a few things: the geyser that is only turned on when guests arrive is a no-go! The water takes at least an hour plus to get warm enough and if you come in late you may have a very late bath/shower. The step by the bath is hopelessly too high for an elderly person and even for us too. Water pressure to bath faucet very weak and there is a very limited DStv package. Furthermore, we were received very kindly and the decor is very nice. A few changes as recommended will make the place very popular.

Place is clean, but not well finished or planned - can clearly see it was an "after thought". Switches are in the wrong places, no ventilation in the kitchen, or bathroom.
We had such a nice stay and there was enough space for us, the children and grandparents. Everything was very neat and clean.
The Cottage was very neat and beautiful. Beds are comfortable and comfortable. The interior is very nice and there is plenty of storage space. It is close to most attractions and centers. Also experienced it as very safe. Can definitely recommend as an overnight stop, and even a few days stay. The only advice is that guests (who are light sleepers) preferably bring earplugs - the neighbour's dog barks non-stop throughout the night and by 04:00 his rooster starts crowing! This was the only annoyance of our stay.
We had a great stay at The Cottage. We are a family of five and there was plenty of space for everyone. The Cottage is very nice and tidy.
It is a beautiful place. The master bedroom does not have a door that can close. Bathroom lacks hooks for robe and towels. Living room curtains beautiful, but not private. Friendly people and everything else very pleasant.

The venue exceeded my expectations. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. I am looking forward to use it again when I travel to Kimberley next time.
Both the host and wife are very friendly. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and clean. But the cookie soap in the bathroom was full of hair (we don't use previous guests' soap). When I opened the one window in the one bedroom, I was standing with the clip in my hand (it's good to check beforehand if everything is in working order). We were requested to turn off the hot water device at night and turn it on again in the morning. We agreed, but really guests should not be asked to do such a thing. Furthermore, the dishwashing liquid was hopelessly short for the time we booked. (Another case of something not being pre-checked.) We wanted to mention these things to the people, but didn't see them again after check-in.
The cottage is nice and roomy, but the service was poor in that there was no one to meet us - had to phone twice. It hadn't been properly cleaned and had a high water grease ring around the kitchen sink. We had to ask for more towels - only two for 5 guests, and for more toilet paper. Small things that make a big difference to your stay. It should also be noted that there are no card facilities, so cash payment is necessary. On the positive side: lots of hot water and a lovely bathroom.
We couldn't find the guest house due to the GPS not showing the location, and there are no street names in Kimberley. We called the guest house twice for help where the phone was not answered. After a while the guest house called me back and they came to pick me up. The place was neat, but I was just upset that they are pet friendly, but dogs are not allowed in the house. It is also bad that there is no shower. The hand soap was empty and there was no small shampoo or soap. The TV could only pick up SABC channels which I feel for the amount I paid there should have been at least 1 DStv channel and the SABC channels were so bad I could only watch one channel. On a positive note, the place was nice and very tidy and I liked the courtyard which was partitioned off for the animals.
Very nicely furnished and well equipped. Comfortable and all that is needed. Great.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay as it was convenient to the place we had to be. The host was very welcoming and very polite.
These are ideal overnight facilities. The owners are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The unit has everything needed and is well located in terms of shops and the attractions.

Normal shower instead of one in bath would have been good. Also missed hair dryer. Otherwise absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay there again.

The fans help, but air conditioning is really essential for Kimberley's summers. The kitchen needs some attention. The place is really neat, clean and spacious. Parking is safe.
The Cottage is spacious, tidy and safe, but the small television high up on a cupboard did not work so well for older people who wear glasses.

The only "strange" thing was that the toilet and bath exited from the kitchen.
There was no one home when we arrived. The step inside the unit is very dangerous (to trip/fall), they should maybe make it slanted instead, like for wheelchairs. The bathtub is also uncomfortable, and not at all user-friendly, especially for older people. There was no coffee that we could find. Otherwise it was pleasant.
Everything is very nice and tidy in the cottage. We were able to check in a little earlier to drop off luggage. Would recommend the cottage but also recommend installing an electric gate as indicated on the web page.
We were disappointed with the accommodation. Dark, cold bedrooms, uncomfortable beds, no carpets or rugs, safety an issue as plugs positioned right above the bed (above your head as there are no headboards), bath difficult to get into, no shower. Doesn't appear to be a registered establishment as no signs anywhere (no name boards or anything). Good for the pets as there is an enclosed garden out the back. Had to compromise safety and comfort for a pet friendly option.
The Cottage - Hadison Park was very clean, spacious and cool in the Kimberley heat.
Clean and spacious! No shower, but the corner bath makes up for that (the water just drains in a bit slowly). For the rest, I can only testify to hospitality and excellent value for money. I would recommend any traveler to stay here. The rooms are practical and really suitable for a family with up to 3 children. It is more of a modern apartment than just a room. I would book there again anytime.
Just what we needed for one night's sleepover! It was a spacious cottage where 5 people could move around with ease. It has a nicely equipped kitchenette with oven and stove that work as well as a microwave oven. The cottage therefore also has a lovely demarcated backyard with a drum grill and lawn for children to play on. Would recommend the stay to anyone.
The Cottage is very comfortable, especially when you are a family with kids. It is located in a very nice and safe area. Great hospitality.
We suggest that fans should be purchased as Kimberley can get extremely hot. Furthermore, we suggest that the second bedroom should get a door (just a sliding door is perfectly fine). It will also work better if the coffee and tea are stored in airtight containers. I do have to say the furniture and cleanliness are great. A further plus was the lovely courtyard and the fact that a spreader was installed to cool the place down nicely.

The fact that there is no remote control on the gate makes it restrictive and also unsafe when you arrive late and have to get out to unlock the gate.
