The Country Garden is on a working farm so there is an opportunity to get to know the farm animals which includes pigs, sheep, rabbits, geese, ducks, chickens and goats. The kids will love it.
This is also a botanist's paradise with an incredible variety of flowers and plants. There is always something blooming. And for avid bird watchers, there are more than 80 bird species, including Black Eagle, Spotted Eagle, owls and the European Beecatchers, which the farm is named after.
A breakfast basket and braai pack is available and can be delivered to the houses. The costs are available upon request.

Clean, tidy, functional accommodation.
The place of residence is very neat, but they can easily provide a better braai place. The woods around the cottage need to be cleared more to be able to appreciate the valley. There is no mobile reception.
Unfortunately, we experienced the place as small and cramped. In the kitchen there are also soft sofas that make movement around the table difficult. There is also only a small fridge and that for 6 people! For all practical purposes there is no hanging space in the rooms. The third room in particular is very small.
Here children can experience the farm at its best and you can also take the dog along. You should also try the jam that is made on the farm from their own fruits and vegetables. Nice!
Thanks to Gerda for asking in advance if she could move us to Aloe Cottage as Sunflower Cottage was being painted. We enjoyed Aloe Cottage. Everything you need Curly the one dog visits us every night.
Our visit was short, but it's very beautiful there. Friendly hostess and neat, clean accommodation. Would definitely recommend it. Gasteplaas is a bit remote so we would have appreciated some milk and of course lamp oil as it was load shedding too.

Had an overnight stop. Lovely farm style accommodation. A little bit off the main routes if you use it for an overnight stop, so I would recommend a longer stay to fully appreciate the serene location and farm atmosphere.
This family-run guest farm is the perfect place to stay if you treasure the peace and beauty of remote areas. My cottage was simple but comfortable and the hosts very welcoming.

I felt a bit like Heidi, in the mountains with the animals and the incredible silence. Perfect getaway. And our 1 year old almost played herself to death.

The children really enjoyed the animals and the friendliness of the family's children. We could also take our dog with us. It was a lovely weekend very good for the soul. We really enjoyed the silence of nature. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. Everything you need is there.
Very good host and hostess. We enjoyed the farm animals and fresh air and beautiful scenery so much. Would recommend the accommodation to anyone who needs a good break.
It was the ideal place to relax and unwind. The children had the time of their lives feeding the animals, milking the cows and goats and collecting chicken eggs in the afternoons! The stars at night are a sight to experience!
Thank you for the hospitality. Even though we arrived early, we were warmly received. The cottage is well equipped. We came specifically to watch birds and were not disappointed. Their jams are recommended.
