The cottage can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and the second bedroom contains a queen-size bed. Both en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Each bedroom has a walk-in closet and leads out onto a wooden deck where guests can relax in reclining deck chairs while enjoying views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The kitchen features a breakfast bar and is equipped with a combination fridge-freezer, an electric oven and stove top, and a microwave. The lounge area is equipped with a TV with a DVD player and full DStv. Hairdryers and bath towels are provided, and guests have access to a laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, a washing line, an iron and ironing board.
The outdoor deck is furnished with a dining table and chairs, as well as a small bar fridge, and guests can enjoy the outdoor braai area, designed with practicality, aesthetics and ocean views in mind. Take a stroll down to the beach or up to the lighthouse, or enjoy a sundowner at Dop en Kreef or breakfast at Sam’s Restaurant. Guests can also explore the unspoilt beaches close to the Aristea Shipwreck, or visit the Namaqua National Park outside of town.

85 guests' feedbackWe were blown away - literally and figuratively - by this extremely well-appointed cottage. Everything, and more, is supplied in an intuitively organised space. Lovely views, good walking opportunities and two surprisingly good restaurants within walking distance. Host checked in daily. Given the number of visitors that are hosted, we were most impressed with the upkeep and cleanliness of the cottage.
Wonderful stay. Small coastal town, very safe and quiet neighbours. Hondeklip Baai is a lovely place to stay over, would have loved to stay longer.

If I had known how nice this was, I would have adjusted my trip to stay longer. Everything you want from a self-catering is there, friendly host, great view. Even if you are not staying at the cottage, come by at sunset to watch the birdlife at the garden bird bath.

First time in Hondeklip Bay, although there is not much to do. If you want to rest well with an exceptional view, this is the place. Everything is so neat and Sharon is so hospitable. House has everything you need and more. Such a nice warm feeling when you walk in.

Hondeklipbaai is a little gem on the West Coast. Nothing really special, but just nice, calm and safe.

Apart from the bad road, the accommodation is very good. Few flowers.
Need to have gas available for power cuts and make a plan to have water available when power is off. Water availability when no power is an issue. Need a plan for guests when no power for water and a small gas cylinder with kettle. Pot and frying pan to cook when no power. The accommodation is lovely.
The unit is very well equipped with everything you may need for self-catering; it's within walking distance of the sea and a place to eat.

Awesome facilities, super comfy, very clean, well decorated, a beautifully looked after home with wonderful views of the bay. Unfortunately our check out experience was unpleasant and unaccommodating, despite us leaving 13 minutes late. Sadly we won’t recommend or return.

The cottage is very well situated with a very nice view over the town and the sea. We were welcomed so kindly and Sharon was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a lovely cottage with everything we need, we didn't lack for anything, and there is a wonderful atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and we enjoyed every moment there. There you can wind down and relax and sit on the porch and watch the sun go down. One can drive far along the sea on both sides of the village. There is a shipwreck on the rocks and you can grill some meat at many nice barbecue spots by the sea. The cottage is very well furnished. Two families can hang out together and then have privacy in the evening.

This is our 2nd time at Dogstone Cottage and I hope we will be able to stay again in the future. The house has everything you need for self-catering and is perfectly located with an unobstructed view of the bay. Also a nice sheltered braai next to the house and a garage; maybe if roll-down blinds can be placed along the sides of the deck, one can also sit there at any time of the day. Between Sharon and Salome, one could not ask for better service; lovely people. The place is perfect for 2 pairs of friends or a parent couple with children, as each of the 2 bedrooms is en suite. And the place is super-tidy with extras like electric blankets on the beds; also spacious with enough natural lighting. I definitely recommend Dogstone Cottage and Hondeklip Bay!

The house is beautiful, very nice and warm and particularly well and nicely furnished. Beautiful sea view and close to the sea. Large porch. Everything was in excellent working order and very clean. The electric blankets were a great treat in the cold evenings. Large garage that even our 4x4 vehicle could fit and lock up. The braai place is also nicely furnished. Salome was an excellent hostess and communicated in advance and relayed information which was very helpful. We are happy to recommend the accommodation. Sharon also received us kindly.

The owner kept us informed about the location. There was a lady who received us and gave us all the necessary information. The cottage itself was a surprise, it's all modern and tidy inside. Both bedrooms overlook the sea.
The stay was very nice. Just a pity the South East blew us away but the well stocked bookshelf made up for staying inside.

My husband and I arrived late afternoon. The weather was a bit cold when we arrived, but the welcoming sherry in the cottage was just perfect to warm up. It is a very neat, cosy cottage with a perfect sea view. We were surprised to have everything we could possibly need for a self-catering 5-day stay.
