33 guests' feedbackThe cottage looks the same as in the pictures and was equipped with everything we needed. The people are friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will most definitely visit them again.
Great vibe and authentic farm stay! Kids loved being part of the farm and helping out with the animals. Great hike which our 2 kids (3 + 5) coped with up to the water source.
It was awesome. Great weekend.
It was a special weekend for me and my wife. Thank you very much for the service and hospitality. Cutest farm I have ever visited. Even the chicken was just too expensive. And for those wondering, donkey milk isn't too bad.
Very nice and peaceful.
My mother and I had a wonderful stay.
Wow! Once again one for the books, already had to promise the children to come visit again soon. If you drive away from a place and your children cry for almost 15 minutes then you should know, they enjoyed every moment. Jesse, Martyn, Amanda and all the other staff, thank you very much for a wonderful time with you on the farm. Children again could not get enough of all the animals, nor of all the dog children.
Living the farm life! What a wonderful stay, I will be going there again. The staff made it extra special by being so welcoming during our stay.
A wonderful and very comfortable stay at The Donkey Dairy Kothuis - Plaaswerf Verblyf. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The premises are well-suited for all the activities on offer. We felt like VIP guests. We will absolutely be back for another stay.
It was very peaceful and nice. Will definitely go again.
Cottage is comfortably furnished. Bed comfortable, bedding neat. Water heats up quickly. Minor renovation work needed here and there. Interaction with the animals so special. Staff particularly friendly and hospitable. Walking route breathtaking.
Very nice weekend for us and our children. Will definitely go again.
Quiet wonderful place with the best donkeys.
It was special. My mum has MS, so she struggled a bit with the stairs, which are not many. However, for anyone with access issues, the cottage has two steps down to the kitchen and bathroom and one outside the front. The cottage has character and a good rustic feel. We had friendly peacocks and farm dogs visit, which made us feel right at home. Our host was an angel and ever so accommodating. She very kindly went on standby to keep an eye on my mum while I hiked up the mountain at the back. We dipped into farm life for a day and it was wonderful. All farm staff were really helpful and friendly. Our host even arranged for his maintenance man to fix our car. On our drive there, the plastic under the engine popped loose in one corner, which has happened before to this car. We drove a bit on a dirt road which loosened it, so if you don't have a 4x4, drive carefully through the game park where we saw zebra, springbok, kudu and a huge legavaan. P.S. The donkey milk tastes great with rooibos and we highly recommend the farm rusks and donkey ice cream. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you, our hosts, for a well-needed and revitalising break at the accommodation.
It is very safe, peaceful relaxation and the most beautiful views with the hiking trails.
The tranquility on the farm is just what one's soul needs from the busy city life. The farm is beautiful and the cottage is well appointed, neat and clean. The workers and owner are so friendly and helpful and you immediately feel at home. There is plenty to do on the farm and in the surrounding areas to keep you busy. The animals are so tame and every interaction with them, whether it is the dogs, donkeys, cows, alpacas, horses or goats, is a moment that is an incredible experience and only brings total fulfillment and love to one's heart . Would definitely recommend the Donkey Dairy cottage!
This was our second visit to the Donkey Dairy Cottage. Very good value for money, nice privacy and a peaceful getaway. Our two teenagers also enjoyed it, especially the dogs that come to visit and all the animals on the farm. Would highly recommend it!
Everyone was so friendly, kids had a great time! Will definitely go again!
The peace and bliss that one experiences here is good for the soul. There is plenty to do on the farm and in the surrounding areas to keep you busy. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The animals are very tame and every interaction with them brings total tranquility. At night, you can have fun around the boma and look at the stars while taking in the soundtrack of the night. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Wow! What can we say about our stay with you guys at The Donkey Dairy Farm. 13-16 of July 2023. You guys were so accommodating from the word go. We had no complaints, everything was clean and neat, the animals well looked after, and Lucas the dog stole our hearts from the first moment he came to greet us, love at first sight. The whole experience and the stay definitely one for the books. We had a photoshoot with Natasha, to capture memories on your beautiful farm. Our kids had a ball, and when we left on Sunday both of them were in tears, and we had to promise them that we will come to the farm again. Zac, Jesse, Zelda, Martain, Jacqueline and all the rest of the friendly staff keep up the excellent work you do, you really have a piece of heaven on your farm. See you again soon the Potgieter Family all the way from Nigel.
Pleasant stay with friendly staff. The cottage and braai area need some TLC.
We had a great time and will definitely organize a visit again! The staff were so friendly and helpful. A quiet weekend getaway in nature.
Very nice stay. A recommendation from my end would be to put a full size fridge/freezer in the cottage. Because it is far from everything and is a dirt road, you have to take everything with you, but the small fridge is not at all sufficient to keep meat frozen and perishable food cold.
The people are very nice and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We really enjoyed it. It's something different and people should check it out, especially if you love animals.
Wow, that's all I can say. We and our children enjoyed it incredibly much! It was a special experience, all the animals and the hiking trail. And the best of all is the silence. We are definitely going back again!
We had a wonderful stay. Top notch hospitality. Nice to be able to see and hear all the farm animals. Very much enjoyed walking route with the most beautiful view.
A great farm experience with actual close interaction with the animals in their own environment.
Almal is vriendelik en gee 5-ster gasvryheid. Ideale plek om net te gaan rus en weer te kan asemhaal, 'n belewenis tussen al die diere! Sal vir seker weer gaan.
Lovely place to just relax and have an amazing farm experience. Road there was easy driving and scenic and Zak and Jesse was very very friendly and helpful. The animals are just lovely to see and adorable. Loved the baby goats. Communication from start to finish fantastic.
Lovely area, wonderful people, tranquility and animal sounds. What more could one want?
Absolute picturesque farm with the most beautiful, happy, healthy, much loved animals. The donkey products are heavenly and a definite must to purchase. The hikes are magnificent. Jesse and Zak where the ultimate hosts. I will definitely be back!
A child's dream weekend.
