The historic Nagmaal Huis is a national monument. This quaint cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and contains 2 bedrooms, both of which are en-suite. Each bedroom is furnished with a double bed. The lounge area offers a fireplace to keep things cosy on chilly winter evenings. The cottage opens to a private courtyard with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.

27 guests' feedbackWe had a very friendly contact. The house is functional, very well furnished and decorated. This is our favourite ex aequo in Philipolis. And the wood-burning stove is efficient and much appreciated in winter .
We were able to rest wonderfully in the beautiful spacious three bedroom house on the corner. The house was clean, the service very friendly, the atmosphere creative and inspiring. The house is authentic with antique and modern furniture and art very tastefully chosen, and the house has been beautifully renovated with very good taste. The beds were comfortable, with crisp linen.

It was incredibly pleasant to spend the night at The Dusty Vine Communion House. The hostess was very hospitable. I can recommend it. Will definitely spend the night there. People from the area were also very friendly.
What a gem, suitable for 2 or 4 people (additional room for 2 separate from main unit), super clean, super cute, lovely fireplace and everything you need for overnight or even extended stays! The host is super helpful and always available.
Our stay at The Dusty Vine Nagmaal Huis was truly enjoyable. Carin is a super host and most kind. I can highly recommend this place as a place that will satisfy the most discerning traveller. My one regret is that we did not plan to stay a few extra nights - but we will be back in the near future to do so.

We loved our short stay at the Dusty Vine. Stephanie was extremely helpful in giving us directions and getting us set up for a comfortable stay. The house itself is small but absolutely gorgeous; we loved the attention to detail in the design and felt thoroughly spoilt. A great overnight stay for travellers, but spending a few nights here is also recommended as there is a lot to explore in the town.

Most enjoyable 3-night stay.
I enjoyed a night in this beautiful and comfortable house in the centre of Philippolis. We were greeted and shown in promptly despite our late arrival. Comfortable with full self-catering facilities including a gas stove, kettle, sink, and full-size fridge-freezer. Table and chairs in a small backyard shaded by fruit trees.
Great accommodation. Somewhat tight, but well-appointed. Great fireplace but we had to park in the street. No wi-fi during loadshedding.
The wi-fi did not work after loadshed and another bout of loadshed affected the water supply to the house. The place is well equipped and comfortable for a short stay. It would be nice to have an option for single beds for families with teenagers.
We would like to come back soon.
We really enjoyed the place. Everything you need to make you comfortable overnight or longer. Can definitely recommend it.

Must see destination.
Don't just stay for 1 night but at least 2 to 3 nights! Beautiful and quality eclectic interior. The inner garden is nice and private with fantastic old fruit trees - at least managed to steal a ripe fig or 2 from the birds. We had a great time sitting there and visiting and barbecuing. Much better option than Colesberg or Gariepdam.

The fireplace is a winner! The bed was wonderfully cozy and warm (it was cold), very tidy and everything you need.
All that is lacking is safe and secure parking. The house is awesome and owners hospitable.
