Host was extremely rude due to a misunderstanding about the deposit payment. Breakfast definitely is not up to standard. They offer coke, coffee and tea. And then charged us an additional R25 for the coke. After we already paid separately for the breakfast. No juice? Overall service 2 out of 10. I have received much better service from guesthouses than half the daily rate.
The room felt crowded and the bathroom was not as per the pictures.
Only area of improvement is to include a small fridge in each room. Otherwise it was outstanding.
We used to sleep there but in the garden unit. This time we stayed in the main building. The place is very old with very old noisy air conditioning. The shower in the tub is very uncomfortable especially for older people (having specifically mentioned that one couple is 91 and 85 years old). On Saturday night, guests were sitting in the garden right in front of our windows drinking and making a lot of noise (and also occasionally talking loudly in the corridors and slamming doors) until after 11 pm. They were just late, none of the staff thought to silence them. The breakfast was well prepared. The gardens are beautiful.

Friendly service. Was very helpful when I lost my room key/card and it was 00:00 when we got back. Was really nice, will stay there again next year for sure.
Elegant Lodge is very central. The staff were great and helpful. Furthermore, we felt safe. We attended an amateur wrestling reunion about a 5 minute journey from The Elegant Lodge. The price was fair.
We were a large group that booked 5 rooms, and it was only bad for us that the aircons did not work well in all the rooms. We would also recommend small fridges in the rooms. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

The guard at the gate who was supposed to open slept when he was supposed to be on duty.
My room was next to the workshop/storage room. There was a tremendous pungent chemical smell - reported it. Rooms are not soundproof nor smoke-free. People smoke right on the porch which is extremely unpleasant. Rooms do not have refrigerators which is inconvenient. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
I just wasn't aware that the booking didn't include breakfast. Apart from that everything was good.
You immediately feel at ease, the room is comfortable and everything you need is at your disposal. Will definitely stay there again.
Very neat and comfortable. Reception was very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice stay. The only problem we encountered was that one room did not have a key for the front door and we had to use the door at the back of the garden. Will definitely use Elegant Lodge again.
Everything as expected and they remind you about your reservation.
Rooms are neglected, carpet was very dirty, air conditioner old fashioned and shower in bath inadequate and leaking on floor.
From arrival the friendly staff, clean tidy room as well as good security made our stay comfortable and satisfactory. Will be back in future. Thank you!
