Very hospitable welcome. Very neat and clean. The silence was incredible. Had a good night's sleep and the cottage has everything you might need, even barbecue packs and wood on request.
Friendly reception, good communication, clean, tidy and unique. Our dog Mia frolicked in the fenced yard and enjoyed staring through the wire at the horse, Thank you very much, Louise. We'll see you again!
A beautiful starry night capped off an evening of excitement for our Scottish Terrier who met horses for the first time. A truly peaceful and wonderful stay.
A lovely stopover en route from Gauteng to the Cape. We loved the time in the garden watching the horses visit the fence and all that space for the dogs to unwind. The garden is fenced and good for medium to big dogs but smaller pups will probably be able to easily get out. We all really enjoyed our stay.

We had a very nice stay. The service is excellent and the lady who received us on our arrival was very friendly and helpful. However, the air conditioning could not be set to warm, and since it is a large living/sleeping area, it was very cold and we could only use the fireplace, which by its nature could not burn throughout the night. The road to the property is also very bad.

We had a lovely stay at the Farmers Cottage. The house is spacious, tidy and a lovely aria if you are traveling with dog children. We immediately felt welcome after the friendly reception.
Very nice stay. Beautiful house! Very calm and quiet. Clean, tidy and well equipped. Safe site for dogs. On arrival, however, I was a bit unsure. My recommendation would be to pay attention to the reception and first impressions.
Great place to chill, especially with dogs. Enclosed area for them to run around and explore lets you worry less. Neatly kept garden area and cottage. Aircon wasn't cooling things down, but otherwise a comfortable space. Good bed, gas stove. Road in was a little rural, but only for a couple hundred meters. Will probably stay over again.
The Farmers Cottage has everything one needs for a self-catering stay. Our Border Collie loved the cows in the field next door, and we were at complete ease as the entire large yard is fenced in. Some feedback to improve the stay would be the addition of 2 comfy outside camping chairs for around the braai at night, or to relax in during the day, or even to provide cushions for the wire set of chairs that are available.
The lovely cottage is located in a quiet part of Bethulie. It was spotless and very tidy. We were received kindly and helped quickly. We cooled off in the main house's swimming pool after a long day on the road. The perfect place to stay overnight, especially if you want to explore the back roads and avoid the busy N1. A snap on the long Bethulie Bridge is a "must"!

The place is incredibly neat and safe and has everything to stay comfortably for humans and animals. Very quiet and friendly host. Our human dog also had a lovely playground with the yard fenced and safe. Lovely place and would highly recommend it. Thank you.

2nd time we sleep here. Very nice and comfortable. Bethulie is a cute little town.
Decorations are very authentic and interesting. The lounge furniture is very wobbly and we were scared to sit on it. The house is very cold and not comfortable. Don't use aircons due to tinnitus. Bought wet wood from Louise and when requesting other wood Louise asked my husband to fetch it. After a debate she delivered it with her car.
The Farmers Cottage was a comfortable overnight stay and was clean and tidy with plenty of play space for the children around.

The cottage is very nicely equipped. Very warm welcome at the cottage and immediately felt at home. If I can make a representation for the cold winter months, maybe just have a gas heater available.

Was a nice place to stay overnight. Everything is clean and tidy. Place is fenced but preferably for large dogs. Our little dogs could go through the wire. That would be the only negative. But will stay there again for sure.

If you are looking for froufrou and luxury, carry on driving to Bloemfontein and good luck. However, if you are looking for a charming, comfortable and quiet place where you can relax, switch your brain off and have your pet travel companions run around to get rid of their pent up energy after a long drive, this cottage is perfect. It is clean, spacious and and very well equipped with everything you need. We loved making a fire outside whilst chatting on the big verandah till late at night. Louise is a great hostess - welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We stayed for 2 days and could easily have stayed for another 2 or more if we didn't need to get home. Will definitely be back again next year and every time we need to drive back from Cape Town to Pretoria.
Very nice, modern farm experience. Our brat really enjoyed it. He stared at the horses who devoted themselves and also used the fountain to its fullest. Nice swimming. Very beautiful and peaceful!

The accommodation was peaceful after the long journey and we were able to prepare our own dinner. There was enough space for our Shepherd Dog. We were very comfortable and would recommend the accommodation.

Ek het ongelukkig 'n paar van my goed daar vergeet en hulle was meer as bereid om my te help om dit aan my terug te besorg. Binne 2 dae het iemand my goed in my tuisdorp afgelaai, en ek sal my gasheer vir altyd dankbaar wees. Nogmaals dankie! Die moeite werd om tyd daar deur te bring.

Owners with smaller adventurous dogs should know that the enclosure is of such a nature that your four-legged friends can easily take the road and explore/escape if you are not keeping an eye on them. Larger dogs are safe in the yard. It's a shame the air conditioning didn't work because it was really, really hot. The alternative "mobile air conditioner" didn't work for the whole house.
Karoo Pandok's Farmers Cottage is definitely one of the places we come back to again and again. No matter how far we were from here, we always make a stop at the beginning of our holiday, or as a last stop on the way home. The cottage is well laid out and is far enough away from other dwellings to be really private. Louise, the hostess, is always friendly and helpful and genuinely happy to see us. Clean, tidy and safe, and of course far enough away from everything that you know you're getting a proper rest. Bethulie and its people are close to the heart and Farmers Cottage is a favorite destination.
The owner treated us like royalty, despite poor arrangements on our part, she was more than willing to help and exceeded all expectations. The house itself was incredibly neat and nicely equipped for a peaceful visit!

The only negatives, with regards to this accommodation is the quality of pillows and the bed being a bit creaky. More than one toilet roll needs to be supplied. Perfect for travelers with pets, decor is quirky and there is a lovely garden.

One was made to feel very welcome and I was impressed by the friendly welcome. I felt safe and my accommodation was very comfortable.

We couldn't fault the accommodation! The pet-friendly cottage is fully fenced and our dog could run free and play ball on the yard. The cottage is neat, clean and the decor is unique to the farm environment where the cottage is located. We had a very nice stay.

We arrived on the Thursday late afternoon and Louise received us with a big smile. Service and courtesy to our hostess was always very good. The cottage is equipped with most essentials for self-catering and is fairly accessible from the main route through town. The roads in town are generally not in good condition, but I was able to get around without too much trouble in a sedan car. Take mosquito nets with you and if you are fussy about food, especially fresh meat and vegetables, take your own food supply with you. If not, try the local eateries of which there are few.
The cottage is to one side and has a nice big porch. Accommodation is comfortable. Louise is friendly and hospitable, and served us a delicious breakfast!
We arrived there in the late afternoon and Louise warmly welcomed us and showed us everything. The place is really beautiful and very nicely decorated. However, it is terribly cold and one has to buy firewood at R30/bag. We then ordered two bags which were delivered with matches and a tiny piece of 'firelighter'. There were no small sticks or anything to help the fire and it soon died. If it hadn't been for the electric blanket on the bed, we would surely have caught cold. However, I think in the summer it would be lovely to stay there and hang out on the nice patio. I would recommend that the owners start a fire for travelers as a courtesy. It will make the world of difference.
We had a very nice overnight stay in the small, quiet town of Bethulie. It was our first time here and will definitely use the facilities again. Thank you very much.
