Very pleasant stay, quiet with a lovely view. Was food for my soul. Nyala, the cat, comes to visit often which makes it feel like home.
It was delicious. Although we didn't stay in the hotel, but in the unit next to the hotel, it was still beautiful with an amazing view. Breakfast was top notch. Clean and friendly, we will definitely go back.

We experienced a very warm welcome and time at The Farmhouse Hotel - we can definitely recommend it to anyone. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is fantastic with the most beautiful views, the breakfast was very high quality and delicious. We also used the restaurant at the hotel one night and it was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately there was not enough time to make use of the Spa, but definitely next time.
I was disappointed in the room. It felt like a laundry room, with a dingy and unpleasant entrance. We booked way in advance, and just because we had a small dog, we were allocated this room. If you advise that pets are allowed, then don't discriminate.
The view is breathtakingly beautiful. The staff very friendly. Had a wonderful stay. Our little dog was very welcome and there was even a small bed for him in the room. We did bring our own cot with us, but it was a nice gesture. Many thanks to the chef who went out of his way to cook our woof's ostrich meat perfectly rare for us. We were afraid we had packed too little. I would only recommend that they eventually replace the carpets with tiles or laminate flooring.
Over R1700 for one night in a back room - overpriced!
We spent one night of our "honeymoon" at Farmhouse 23 years back. The service, cleanliness and value for money made us book there again. Unfortunately this time (coincidentally the same room) we did not have the same experience. The entrance to the rooms stuck dirt, feathers and dust behind the door. One of the couches' armrests was dirty. In the bathrooms, it looks like no changes have been made since we were there 23 years ago, where some of the nice hooks were missing, other hooks were placed casually. The decor clash. We also got regular size towels instead of "bath sheets". We were very excited that we were offered breakfast packs due to the West Coast Marathon taking place, but the packs were wrongly packed and arrived mixed up, as well as a rotten banana. The restaurant, which according to knowledge is private, but does provide breakfast for hotel guests, did not have room for us for breakfast on Sunday morning. After we objected, they made way for us. On check out the deposit on the account was also incorrect and the person helping us did not understand how to make the sum after I provided proof of my deposit. It was just one thing on the next.
This hotel is so much more than I expected. Value for money, rooms are beautiful, with friendly 'staff'. The morning free breakfast was a winner. Will not choose any other place to stay for my next visit.
Couldn't ask for better: Good service, beautiful and comfortable room with a fireplace and a view of the sea. Will definitely come again.

I didn't complain about our room, but it wasn't shown in any of the pictures. Have stayed there previously in a far better room. Had I known what the room was going to be like, I would have stayed elsewhere or happily paid more for something else. The hotel, facilities, food, staff, views, lounges, were great. Love the venue.
We have stayed at Farmhouse four times and really enjoyed it. The Farmhouse atmosphere is old hotel cosy. Decided on the same experience, what a disappointment, when we checked in we were taken to the house next door to stay in a room there. When I made the reservation it was never mentioned that you book a room in the house next door, if I had known that I would never have booked. You guys are sweeping Farmhouse under the rug. Future guests be warned.

We had beautiful lagoon views from our second-story window. The hotel is close to great restaurants and the West Coast National Park. Loved the complimentary tea & scones, and the breakfast.
The restaurant's French chef and spouse served wonderful cuisine. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Wonderful visit!

Hotel and breakfast very good, but unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant La Petite Mansion in the hotel for dinners. Cuisine food which is terribly little, very expensive and not value for money and wine prices also ridiculous. Also simply raised my bottle's price from R195 to R246, because the bottle we had is "not on the system".
Really enjoyed the stay and will be back.

Rooms are homely and the fireplace on a cold, wet night was perfect! The large and comfortable room and bathroom with king size bed was so homely.
Booked garden apartment and was checked into a veranda room, no. 4. Moved to the garden room last night although I booked it for the full period. Why are we accommodated in room 4 but I booked the garden room and what if the rate is different? Why did this happen? Was quite unhappy about the incident.

The 1 star customer service rating is due to one incident. The general key staff, as well as the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the owner and chef of the Le Petite Maison Restaurant. At the time of our dinner there was a tremendous argument between the two persons which was heard by all the guests. Shortly afterwards we were informed that the chef had apparently injured himself and our starters were cancelled. Main courses would still be served. Four guests who had a reservation for dinner were informed that they could not be served. They left there very shocked and disappointed. Our main courses were served but my order was wrong. Because of the situation and the atmosphere, I didn't feel like drama and ate the dish. The food was well prepared and my feedback would have been so different had it not been for the unpleasant incident. With the current situation restaurants find themselves in, we were extremely shocked that guests could be treated this way.
Annex did not have washing up facilities, although there are plates and glasses. Cleaner did not come, even though she arranged to come.
The units shown on LekkeSlaap's website are not directly part of the hotel, but appear to be 2 large private units managed by the hotel. The access to it is slightly awkward due to many stairs. The unit was also very basic furnished.
Pathetic over! Didn't even get the room we booked. Upon arrival it was a wait. Room was wrong. We were told we couldn't eat at the restaurant because they were fully booked! So people who book accommodation there have to eat elsewhere. I asked if I could speak to the management / owner. I wait until now. Absolute rubbish. I do not recommend this place to anyone. And on top of that, the sink was clogged. At check-out time I didn't even waste my breath to complain because no one there listens. Weak weak weak. Not worth a star.

The Farmhouse has beautiful panoramic views and has lovely walks from the gate. The sheltered pool overlooks the lagoon.
We were pleasantly surprised that the room was more luxurious than we expected.
We had a lovely weekend in the Frank Wightman cottage. The cottage is spacious, with beautiful Cape Dutch antique furniture and a picturesque view of the Langebaan Lagoon. The scones and tea in the afternoons were a nice treat and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There were a few things in our room that didn't work, but we will bring them directly to the hotel's attention. The location is one of the best in Langebaan and the boat club is just across the street if you want to sit on the water and have a drink. Can recommend the hotel.

Clean rooms and hotel is very well positioned, staff not competent enough and need a lot of training. Tables outside need to levelled properly and smokiness from the coffee station needs to be improved.
The breakfast should be varied. They give exactly the same options every day. So if you stay longer it gets monotonous. For one night it's ok.

The cleanliness of the room, garden and other facilities was of high quality and the helpfulness of the staff commendable. Secure parking space for the vehicle and complimentary WiFi nice pluses. The interaction with foreign visitors during breakfast was a bonus.
The hotel is beautiful with lots of character. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel's food was very tasty. Just one point of criticism - the staff was clearly under tremendous pressure because there were too few of them. We were not the only guests who noticed that the few staff members who were there were under enormous pressure to do all the tasks etc. Management will need to address this issue urgently.
Pillows were uncomfortable and more water should have been provided. The fridge had been turned off and there was no ice in the freezer compartment (Room 11). The ambience, service, friendliness of staff, and the location of the Farmhouse Hotel is world-class, I will definitely be back!

Very interesting to see all the old items on display in the hotel, there are items that the younger generation will not know. The hotel's history and things that happened in and around the hotel can also be read in the corridors, very interesting. We can highly recommend The Farmhouse Hotel, we really enjoyed our visit.
We were very well received by staff and found the room clean and comfortable. We arrived in winter and the rooms could not be made cosy enough by heaters and there were no extra blankets in room, I did not speak to staff about it.the location was perfect with beautiful view over the lagoon. We enjoyed the sunsets from our room. I will definitely book at the hotel again, I believe it should be perfect in summer.

It is much more than expected. We have had breakfast, a plus, and WiFi and it's nice and spacious. Thanks for water next to our bed, big bed and beautiful view and service excellent, especially Andy with breakfast.
We loved the place! The friendly service and the authentic farm museum atmosphere were wonderful to experience. Our room, number 4, was beautiful and comfortable. It is perhaps a good idea to replace the faulty lock, so that the colored glass window does not have to be taken out of the door every time if the key does not work. Because we stayed a day longer, we had to move to room 7. It was quite a cold room and one of the two heaters on the wall did not work. The stairs downstairs are not suitable for particularly tall persons like my husband, who bumped his head at the entrance. Nevertheless, it was a blissful resting place for us where we could relax wonderfully. We would love to visit there again in the future when we come to South Africa.
From our arrival at reception to breakfast and meals everyone was friendly. Rooms were painfully neat and bathroom was very clean. Have fun, no noise. I can only say excellent. Thank you.

Wonderful time. The service is excellent. The rooms are clean and throw in the amazing view and you have a winner. Highly recommended for the price paid and what you get. Already planning the next visit and The Farmhouse Hotel is at the top of the list.
Only complaint is that they moved us out to a nearby house as we apparently paid for a 'budget' room. We were disappointed. The website has in no way indicated that this will be the case.
We were welcomed by friendly staff, who went out of their way to give us the best. Apartment was very neat. Although we were not at home in the hotel itself, the guest house they provided was great. Very private with a pool, games room in a full gym. Unit was cleaned daily and coffee and tea holder was always full. The breakfast we had at the hotel in the morning was tasty. And there too, all the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel with great staff. Can recommend it with confidence.

Just about everything about the hotel was a pleasant surprise - the rooms are spacious with beautiful decor. The hotel has a lot of character with a lovely atmosphere and the lounges are comfortable and comfortable for all day long visits.
Service and food in restaurant wonderful and the staff are friendly. Arrival wasn't that well organised and our towels were damp in the room. The room is spacious, but some of the furniture needs upgrading. The cleaning service only go to us quite late.
It was a very relaxing stay. The service from all the staff was excellent, very friendly. We had a lovely view of the lagoon from our bedroom window upstairs and the breakfast was great.
We booked one of the cheaper rooms and were pleasantly surprised at how luxurious it was! The ladies at reception were great too. The general atmosphere, decor and feeling of a farmhouse combined with West Coast works very well. We will definitely be back.

On arrival at the Farmhouse our reservation had not been changed as requested. In terms of safety, I feel that especially at the front of the unit where we spent the night, too much opportunity is created for any person/persons to enter the area. However, I must emphasize that the breakfast included in the price was really outstanding.
Room can become problem for people with sinus and hay fever, the reeds give off dusty smell which is sharp on nose and chest. Our room was also poorly insulated, could hear every incoming call.
Upstairs was the lounge, double bed and bathroom, with a bedroom with 2 single beds, small lounge and bathroom and very small inadequate kitchen downstairs. No cooking facilities. Disappointing for a self-catering unit. Restaurant's food was not great either.
The garden rooms have little to no privacy. The room we got had no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. No wifi, no curtain. On the second day there was fortunately another room available. But when we went to lie down at the swimming pool there were no cushions in front of the deck chairs. Only a few small loose ones. Staff wanted to do their best but didn't really have the means. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, the evening meal is less good.
Was placed in a room in the house, not in the hotel. Had to arrange for my baggage to get to the hotel myself. Was woken by a noise in the house at 4 am by things falling around. Not happy at all.

Accommodation is excellent, except that there is no free Wi-Fi, the option which I chose upon booking. This was a problem, because I chose it specifically because I had work to do on the internet! We were placed in a room that wasn't on the same premises as the hotel and the Wi-Fi had no reception. The information on the advertisement needs to be amended.
Tamsin made a plan when I told her I was bringing a small dog and upgraded us to a pet-friendly room at no extra charge. We were only there for one night but really enjoyed it. Only comment would be that there was no fruit salad on the breakfast buffet. Cutting up whole fruit at the breakfast table is a bit messy. Service from LekkeSlaap was great!

It is a wonderful place to rest. Everything is very good. The WiFi lol because the signal is very weak. They will have to do something about it. I have business interests and need to keep in touch and have found it difficult.
We had a lovely time, it was so nice and peaceful. The doggies went with and they were well treated and looked after.
We did not stay in the hotel but in a house next door. It was very bad with a lot of noise coming from the other rooms in the house. It felt like we were staying in an apartment and not in the hotel. We were not warned in advance that the hotel was full and that we would have to sleep next door.
The room we stayed in unfortunately has a geyser which is shared with the "laundry". Workers did laundry and left us without hot water. So avoid room number 18. The rest of the stay was very pleasant and comfortable. Their restaurant was the highlight of the stay. The food was of very good quality and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant.
A large room, with a kitchen/sitting area and bath with "hand-held" shower. No view from our room, but there are rooms with a view of the lagoon. Everything we needed for the night we were there.
The cost of the breakfast at the hotel was definitely not value for money. As a breakfast buffet the cold serving was very sparse and unappetizing. For the Sunday evening supper I had a crumbed chicken schnitzel which was over-cooked and dry.
It is located above the kitchen and restaurant and is very, very noisy as they work in the kitchen. Personally, this is a very negative point.

The Farmhouse Hotel did not live up to it's promises. Whilst the location was great and the breakfast ok, the following disappointed: level of front desk service was poor - staff uninformed and lack of training, under-staffed at breakfast created poor service quality (willing but not supported by management), owners berated staff publicly in front of guests, "games room" under-delivered - one pool table in very poor condition situated in a museum, house-keeping continually under pressure and no communication, when we asked for a newspaper (whilst having breakfast) was told the hotel does not do newspapers. Dinner menu lacking in imagination and quality of food. Walk-in guests turned away from coffee shop because of pressure on breakfast/serving staff - tension between front desk and servers. No communication from rooms to house-keeping, messages via front desk, you just have to hope they get it right! Room only had 1 key, even though a second and third external doors were part of the unit, no other keys were available and, in fact, the locks did not even work properly.
The hotel's location is excellent with rooms that have a view of the lagoon. The restaurant serves delicious food.

Upon arrival I noticed that we were allocated a "Classic Room" even though we had paid for a deluxe room. I reported it. There were apparently no luxury rooms available. They then booked us into the "Garden room", but its rate is the same as the "Classic Room". They didn't offer to spoil us with anything else at all. So I paid R120, for which I received nothing???
