We were 7 in the house and it was big enough for us. We had a lovely stay, the house was clean and well-equipped. I would only suggest that she installs an aircon in the lounge, but otherwise, it was a great stay and would definitely go back.

Our rooftop unit was nicely furnished with good quality bedding and contained everything one could need for a pleasant stay. Sharon's directions via WhatsApp were clear and helpful. We also liked the environmentally friendly toiletries. The only problem is that the roof of the place is so low (except in the middle of the three rooms) that you constantly bump your head if you are not careful all the time, even in the beds and on the couch in the living room. Maybe it's meant for children or dwarfs.

We were 14 people attending a 70th surprise birthday celebration. The Gables were perfectly situated for this. The only downside was the access to the loft. We unfortunately had to find last minute accommodation for 4 people on arrival as they could not access the bedrooms in the loft. The staircase was not pensioner friendly. Maybe what I can suggest is to specify on the website the loft is for kids only and not people over 60. We were lucky to find last minute accommodation not too far. Apart from that we had an amazing, memorable time. Thank you.

Although the house needs some TLC here and there, everything works, was neat and clean and has everything as advertised. The family had a great time together and will hopefully do so again soon.
We had a great stay until our departure, where the helper's daughter started screaming at us cause we used extra mattress from upstairs, saying we guests give her mom extra work, but we took the mattress back. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

I can happily recommend The Gables, received unforgettably good service. Everything was set out perfectly, we enjoyed the fire at the indoor braai area. There was also a nice jungle gym for the kids to play, large lawns where we played cricket with the kids. We just walked to town. Everything was so close. Will come here again anytime.

The house comfortably housed our group of 11 people ( of which 4 were kids). Everything worked and the place was spotless. The house is a 2 minute walk to the town center, however the road in front of the house is a gravel road. Carol proactively sent us directions and made arrangements for the keys. The loft is ideal for 4 children, however, adults could struggle with the small staircase. There was more than enough seating, utensils, towels etc. DSTV and Wi-fi worked well. We enjoyed staying there.

The house was pretty, clean and spacious. The indoor braai is quite small, especially for the amount of guests, but in summer it will be lovely if you can open the doors and be close to the swimming pool. The customer service was great.

Our family went to Clarens to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. The house was perfectly suited for the 10 adults and 3 children. More than enough space and facilities. The location so close to the town's main square and allowed us to walk everywhere. Highly recommended.

On the lead up to our stay I had no communication from the proprietor. My wife received an email 2 days before we checked in (not sure how they got her email address as I'm sure only my email was the contact address). When we arrived Carol (the owner's friend) opened the property and let us get on with it. We literally knew nothing about the property, there was an alarm that we were not told how to use. We didn't know how to do the pool pump. The satellite TV did not work until we told the maid and she got someone called out and sorted that fault 4 days into our 7 day stay. There was no info booklet about the property. The cleaner Everlyne was very friendly and helpful. Clemont the gardener was friendly and does a great job with the garden. The house needs quite a bit of TLC and would have loved to stay there back in its hay day because the gardens, house and scenery are amazing.
It's a beautiful place and so nice and peaceful, the owner is so friendly and helpful, our time was just too short.
Had a great time from start to finish. The house is excellently equipped and enough attention to detail without being extravagant. It was a pleasure to be spoiled with enough biscuits, toiletries etc. Then the fireplace will also be packed for you! I have a feeling that this trip to The Gables is going to become an annual institution.
