The Gate Guesthouse has a beautiful garden and we were warmly welcomed by the owner, Charl. The Pearl unit was exactly like the photos: artful decor, spotless with everything neat and in place! It is located in a quiet area and right by the lovely walking route all along the river and the restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Only one problem: it was extremely hot in Clarens when we arrived and the air conditioner is too small to make a difference. The owners can think of a standing fan or perhaps a better type of air conditioner for the unit. But I can highly recommend this place!
Cleanliness, service, etc. is great Just want to recommend replacing the beds in the Mosaic unit.

We had a nice stay there, it rained a lot. The braai facilities on the deck could have had a bit of a roof against rain, as there were no cooking facilities apart from a microwave and steamer, but unfortunately there was no time.
It will soon be our 40th wedding anniversary. We decided to celebrate it with our children in Clarens last weekend. Our stay was excellent! It worked very well for the four of us. We had a great time staying and visiting with our children.
It's the second time I've stayed there and it's safe. Close to hiking trails and beautiful.
We had a wonderful stay. Mariaan is a friendly and fantastic host and we would highly recommend her place. Walking distance to the town square and the nature trails are literally outside the gate. Wishing her luck with her wet driveway due to the newly discovered fountain. Hope to visit again soon.
