The Hidden Valley offers various activities such as swimming, fishing or tubing, hiking and cycling, and being surrounded by nature, guests will see a variety of small wildlife and birds. Zebras, impalas, blue wildebeest, giraffes and other game may also be spotted as The Hidden Valley is located in a wilderness estate.

Wow, our weekend was a lovely getaway. The unit is truly fully furnished, everything you need and delicious coffee. The marketing photos are beautiful, but the unit and surroundings are even more beautiful. We are already ready to book another weekend at the accommodation.

What a beautiful gem of a beautiful place! I would recommend it to any person. There was absolutely nothing we could complain about, everything was neat and pretty and more than enough of what we needed for the weekend. Nature is beautiful. Owners really make a lot of effort and are very hospitable. Will definitely book there again in the future. Truly a place where your soul can rest.
The location is stunning. Frans and Louise are very attentive. The small luxuries, comforts, and thoughtful touches they have put into the place for their guests are amazing. It's truly a place to unwind and recharge the soul. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I enjoyed the breathtaking nature surrounding the place, we rode bikes, took a walk along the river and enjoyed a nice evening braai just gazing at the stars and listening to the sound of nature. Our host Frans is kindhearted. What a generous host, his warm hospitality made our stay a pleasure. The room was supremely comfortable.
The Hidden Valley is one of the nicest places we have ever booked on the website. The cabin has everything we needed. It's picture perfect and right on the river. My husband could fly fish and I went for a nice walk. Frans cares a lot about his guests. We will visit again.

Frans and Louise are so hospitable, friendly and considerate. They definitely go the extra mile to make it as comfortable as possible and special - feel right at home. The chalet is clean and beautiful and equipped with everything you need (no load shedding). The river is incredible and we enjoyed the walking trail along the river and of course the beautiful trees. For the nature lovers I would definitely recommend it.

Great place to enjoy nature and rejuvenate. Indeed it is a hidden treasure that one needs to experience.
Frans and Louise went out of their way to make us feel at home. The place has everything you need with a few extra treats, and is very tastefully furnished. Cycling, and relaxing with inner tubes on the river, as well as fishing, in beautiful, peaceful surroundings, was just what we needed.
We had a lovely weekend at Hidden Valley. Nice and quiet in nature. We went walking, cycling and relaxing in the river on the tubes - tubes and bikes are provided. The first night's braai wood was also included. As well as fresh farm eggs in the fridge and fresh fruit in the room, and a bowl full of home-baked gingerbread cookies. Can definitely recommend The Hidden Valley to anyone.
I love this spot in Hoedspruit, have been there a couple of times, and by far my favourite. Frans and his wife is friendly, checks in to make sure you don't need anything. Absolutely beautiful spot on the bank of the Blyde River. Room is beautiful and very comfy. I can't wait for my next visit with them.
The cottage has everything you need, all the amenities in nature. We were welcomed and immediately felt at home. The silence is incredible and you can rest properly away from the hectic life. The owners make a lot of effort. We enjoyed it incredibly much.
One can relax right next to the clear waters of the rippling Blyde River. All the basic facilities are available for a comfortable stay. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.
Frans and Louise are wonderful hosts, they go to great lengths to make sure you feel at home. The wooden houses are very comfortable, clean and tidy. Very comfortable beds and modern interior decoration make it very tasteful. It is an incredible natural scene with a clean river where you can explore with tubes and canoes, the children enjoy it. It is very private and quiet, one can enjoy all the sounds of nature and birds. It was for sure one of our favorite places to hang out.

The photos on the website are slightly misleading - the cottages are much closer to the river. The location is great, and nature is literally on your doorstep! Enjoy the inner tube ride on the river - provided it rained a lot upstream! We highly recommend it. The cottages are very well equipped with everything you could need, and the bathrooms are very insightfully laid out!
The rooms are very nice and clean and have everything you need. Lots of extra treats. Beautiful scenery. We really enjoyed it and will definitely go again. Very hospitable people and immediately made us feel at home.
Accommodation is compact with everything you need. Cozy atmosphere and rest for the soul.
It was nice and quiet, just not nice in the evening. Because the bugs bother you and then you just have to stay in the room. And with the packing it was not easy with all the heavy things up the stairs because the vehicle is far from the hit.
The uncle came to visit us a few times over the weekend. Didn't enjoy our privacy at all (privacy one expects from a weekend away). The GPS coordinates are not correct at all, we got lost in our canon. A WhatsApp location was then sent which also took us to the wrong place. We didn't arrive at the Hidden Valley until half past 9 on Friday night. French could learn a thing or 2 about hospitality and kindness. The short visit of the uncle was unnecessary, could not enjoy our privacy at all. We will not visit the place again.
If you like bird watching, then this is the place to see rare birds. It's quiet and well equipped - from coffee to mosquito repellent. The river forest is beautiful and if you still want to row or cycle there are quite a few bicycles and a canoe for you to use.
The scenery was amazing. The cottages are on the river bank and you couldn't ask for a more peaceful place. The owners went out of their way to make the visit special. I can recommend them to anyone in the area.

My friend and I stayed at this amazing gem of a place this weekend for my birthday getaway which I celebrated on the 9th Aug. We loved everything about this place, I enjoyed walking along the river though it proved how unfit I was. The sound of the river flowing is to die for. Our host Frans is super hospitable and really made us feel welcome and for that we are grateful. The cabin was so cozy and it was a home away from our homes. We will definitely fly the hidden valley flag so high. The only thing I'd recommend is to use a high profile vehicle as the dirt road has some very challenging rough parts for low profile vehicles, however, that doesn't change the fact that I loved everything about this place. Frans and Louise you guys are lucky for having such an amazing place.
The Hidden Valley is the kind of place where you'd like to bring your family for a whole holiday. There's two cottages, very well appointed, and then that slow-flowing river. For the little ones, there is the stretch right in front of the cottages where the river is very shallow and where they can safely play. A bit further on are lovely deep pools that would be great in summer. The cottages have everything you need to float, canoes, tubes, you name it. There's also an undercover deck with lovely sofas and a big kitchen where the whole group can relax and play some of the board games on offer. The place is idyllic and for bird-watchers it's a paradise. Frans and Luise are also great hosts.
We initially saw the article in the newspaper and decided to give it a try. As my husband said, not Hidden Valley but Hidden Eden. We had such a nice stay and the owners are friendly and helpful. And yes the bird life is amazing. I just added 10 birds to my list and was so happy with the Bosluerie as one. There are also nice hiking trails and you can get rid of all your extra energy to your heart's content. Here you are close to nature and can forget about the dark cloud that the virus hangs over us.
The Hidden Valley is a great getaway, and I will be going back again soon.

I can't tell you anything, you have to experience it. The owners are incredibly friendly and we can't give any bad feedback. We hope to go together friends again before the end of December 2021.
We enjoyed every moment at Hidden Valley. The owners have put so much effort into making sure you don't need anything more and have thought of everything. You can tell they care a lot about the place and it's great to be able to share in it. The location is beautiful next to the river among the massive trees.
What a experience. This gem in Hoedspruit is just awesome. The hosts are the best. Friendly, making sure everything is fine, joined us in river rafting and caring. The cabins are exceptionally well maintained, the furniture excellent and there is everything one needs. We did river rafting with tubes and fished - even caught bass which we released and the the paths next to the river is well maintained. A good spot for birding - even saw the Pel's fishing owl in flight.
Breathtaking scenery along the beautiful Blyde River with variety of fish, birds and wildlife. The chalets were simply yet stylishly furnished and very practical and very clean. The owners are very friendly, hospitable and helpful. Ideal weekend getaway if you are looking for a bit of seclusion in beautiful nature.

Hidden Valley is a particularly beautiful place. Much attention paid to detail to make the visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Everything has been thought of - even some options of canoes to enjoy the river. Nice places to hang out under big trees. Proper food for the soul. Children also really enjoyed it. Great fishing too. We will definitely come again.
This is the perfect getaway from city life. There are only two cabins at The Hidden Valley, so if you want to see other people during your visit, you should bring them along. If you don't prefer people, wildlife abounds in the nature reserve where any walk through the park is guaranteed to meet a giraffe or zebra. The cottages overlook the Blyde River, along which you have a whole strip where you can go and relax with hiking trails, pools and inner tubes with which you can float down the river. In Hoedspruit's heat, cooling off from a late afternoon swim is much needed. Frans and Louise have transformed a piece of the forest into a home that one cannot overlook during your exploration of the Blyde River Valley. I can't wait to visit again.
