We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived - the unit was much nicer than expected. It is tastefully decorated and feels fresh. Bed linen was of excellent quality. We had everything we needed. The 2-plate gas hob was a bonus because we make coffee with our own mocha pot. Highly recommended.

We were pleasantly surprised. I didn't have to wash the dishes first before I used them, something I have to do often at most places. The place was very clean, tastefully decorated and we felt safe. The host supplied us with a list of suitable restaurants and the load shedding times without having to ask for it. There is a gas stove and geyser with some lights, so load shedding was not a problem. Will stay there again anytime.
The Hobbit Hole was everything I needed in a holiday. I had been on the road all day and was hot and tired. The room is so very beautiful and neat. I love the fine detail and finish. It certainly wasn't a vacation trip, but it felt like an unexpected vacation to me. I didn't need anything and rested wonderfully.

I have stayed in quite a few guesthouses and this little place is one of the better ones too, very clean, cosy and pretty. The towels are super soft, bedding is crisp and clean with nice big pillows fit for a queen-size bed. The area is so quiet, you don't hear much traffic, mostly the birds chirping. It feels like a safe little cocoon, a hobbit hole indeed. The host, Daleen, is very friendly and keen to make sure you are comfortable. This is the place to stay if you prefer privacy, peace and quiet along with creature comforts. The host has also made sure that you are comfortable during loadshedding.

My hosts Daleen and Reander escorted me to The Hobbit Hole and made sure that I had everything that I needed before they left. Due to the nature of my husband's work, I travel frequently and often stay in Guest Houses, so I have seen many of them and am familiar with certain service standards. The Hobbit Hole well exceeded all of my expectations. The attention to detail was noticeable eg. toothpicks, mosquito repellant as well as a coffee plunger for those of us that enjoy good coffee. The unit is small and cosy but very luxurious, with ample packing space (cupboards). I would definitely recommend The Hobbit Hole to someone wanting to overnight or even possibly a longer stay in Bloemfontein. It is nice and central and therefor close to all the local restaurants, shopping malls etc. For me however coming from a farm, it was a nice quiet retreat, which was surprising, a real little Hobbit Hole!
