The host was friendly. The cottage was clean and neat. It's a great place for a quick getaway.
Had a pleasant stay , short notice-same day booking but we were still accommodated. Liked that we had our privacy and the WiFi connection was good. Host was responsive.
A very basic accommodation and was suitable for my needs. Suggestion: Kettle with some tea and coffee and powdered milk. Is the water drinkable? If not, then maybe some bottles of water in a fridge.
Security at the back of the rooms does not lock, and the doors just push open badly. The bathroom is very nice and big. The infrastructure is fantastic.
No signs to indicate where The Kunene Manor is. No office or reception. There was a party being held by the management, so there was no available parking for paying guests. The management was not at all neatly dressed at the reception. The grass was long and I had to walk around the back of the house to get to the single unit. The management was not on duty at all the next morning and only found out at 3 o'clock in the afternoon where I had left the key as a guest.
Not happy at all about the price for the low standard we received. The place was dirty and full of cobwebs. There was mouse droppings on the carpet. (I have a 1 year old who crawls around and picks things up off the floor and puts them in his mouth.). There aren't even closets for your clothes in the rooms, loincloth racks that were full of dust that I had to put my baby's clothes on, but had to clean first - we had to use suitcases from our clothes off the floor for the weekend. So I classify the accommodation for guests for one night. Fortunately there were heaters - but no extra blankets. One chair was broken and my friend almost fell. The shower spills everywhere because there is no door or shower curtain and also the shower is broken. Water sprays out of a pipe. The water pressure is very bad and the bathtub was also dirty. Facilities for self-catering are not complete in the kitchen and there were basic things, 4 cups and glasses and plates and forks. No drying cloths for dishes. We did receive a braai, but couldn't braai, it was too cold and we didn't have meat bowls either. Fridge is very small for 4 people's stuff so couldn't keep much food in the place. Good part of the weekend was - generator during loadshedding and Fiso which we received and unlocked late in the evening and helped with extension for us to be able to use the heater in the bathroom for baby. Towels were too few and the place advertises incorrectly. It is not located in Midrand at all, but in Thembisa. The accommodation needs a lot of attention for improvement. The place outside is very nice but the place is very expensive for what you get. We were very unhappy as it is not value for money.
Only thing that place need, is a big fridge not the bar one.
The place is beyond beautiful, definitely going back. Would highly recommend it.
We were surprised with a bottle of champagne and flowers for our anniversary. Mdu checked up on us all the time to see if we have everything we need. We cannot wait to visit the Kunene Manor again!
The staff is kind and very always available when in need.
