We had a lovely stay on the farm. We enjoyed the tranquility and company of the owner's dogs on our walk on the farm. We had some trouble figuring out the temperature of the water in the shower, but it wasn't a major issue that impacted our stay. We had everything we needed, the owner provided us with some fresh water and was very accommodating when we needed something.

We enjoyed our weekend at The Lark @ De Weiglhuys Farm so much. The accommodation is neat, clean and has everything you could possibly need for a short break. It's nice and private with lots of gorgeous birds and especially sparrows that nest in the provided breeding boxes. There is more than one walking path on the farm and the two friendly dogs are eager to walk together. The night owl calling in the evenings was the biggest treat for us. We had an amazing time in Tulbagh. We definitely will be back. The apartment is very clean and there is everything you could possibly need (even Tupperware, braai grid, tongs, etc. ). We had a braai one evening and they even provide the first batch of wood. The WiFi connection is good and you could even work in home office there. There are some lovely short walks on the farm and they have three dogs as well. Tulbagh is a lovely town with lots of wine farms, old buildings and hiking opportunities.

So much care has been taken with the decor, extra little things to make it comfortable.... Place to braai outside, patio to sit around, an outside shower for very hot days... even an electric blanket!! There is a short walking route worked out on the farm which gives a nice view of the surroundings...Rudi and Andreas were very helpful and made you feel so at home.

The Lark is located in a very nice quiet and peaceful rural environment - and very strategic in relation to neighboring towns such as Ceres, Riebeeck-Wes and - Kasteel which are worth visiting. This now comes in addition to the numerous wine farms in the Witzenberg. We can recommend The Lark without reservation.

The Lark @ De Weiglhuys is a self-catering unit, located on the owner's premises. It is very private with a walled garden and covered patio. The garden is beautiful with a fire pit where you can make a fire for heat, and just to sit around the fire and chat, or to grill some meat. The porch has a bench with 2 warm blankets that you can cover your legs with and there is also a table with chairs where you can sit comfortably to eat and all the candles and lights create a romantic environment/atmosphere. There was a crate with firewood, just bring your braai wood for your meat. The unit consists of an open-plan bedroom and kitchen area and a separate shower, sink and toilet area. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. A microwave oven, fridge, kettle, crockery, cutlery etc. There was a container with fresh drinking water, as well as biscuits, coffee, tea, sugar and fresh milk and cold water in the fridge. The double bed has an electric blanket on it for the cold nights which was very nice. Free WiFi was available and also, a TV with OpenView, no DStv. Other nice treats were the hand soap, shampoo and hair dryer that were provided. Rudi and Andreas were very good hosts, they gave us a lot of information to be able to explore all the nice places in Tulbagh, which was very useful. Thank you very much for our surprise on Sunday, it is really appreciated. We had a great stay and can definitely recommend The Lark @ De Weiglhuys for a very nice experience.

The Lark is well furnished and very tidy. The traveler looking for a base from which to explore or spend the night will be in luck. The garden/courtyard is very nicely laid out and you can spend hours there staring at the fire (drinking a little wine). We did miss a view of the fields and mountains. It was damn hot when we were there and the outdoor shower in the courtyard was our comfort and a nice addition. Rudi, the owner/manager forwarded all relevant information in advance and kept us informed of scheduled power outages.
