They were safe and could move around without us having to stress about them getting out. To the hostess, thank you for all our treats. It was a surprise and delicious, and it made us feel so special.
It was pure pampering - a nice cheese board, biscuits, yoghurt and muesli and even biscuits for our dog. It was blissful to relax in the beautiful patio area after a long day.
The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. We loved the little touches with the welcome cheese platter, muscadel, rusks, spices in the drawer, water and yoghurt in the fridge. Even coffee and tea were provided. As we checked in on Women's Day, chocolates were left for me. Would definitely recommend this place as Montagu is such a pretty town.
Little Gem made us feel like a king and queen, our 4-foot child like a princess. It was neat, clean, cuddly and Little Gem's attention to small details pleasantly surprised us. We would definitely make a special trip to Montagu again just to stay there. Cheese board with crackers for us and special doggie treats for Bailey.
Quiet location with beautiful views. The cottage is lovely, equipped with everything you need. Historic, yet with all the modern amenities one needs. So neat and beautifully kept, beautifully clean and fresh. The garden is beautiful and fenced making it ideal when travelling with our doggy. Will definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the Stuirio Cottage for one night, with our dog, and it was perfect. Als was nice clean and tidy, also enjoyed being able to barbecue in the evening. Other than that, Janet, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating.
It's a very cute place, comfortable beds, everything we needed was there. Only the electric plates are very slow and take a very long time to heat up. That's all that was wrong.
Montagu is a beautiful place.
We had to book an apartment for 3 persons as 2 only gives you a double bed. So we arrived and the horrible bunk bed in the lounge /kitchen had a disgusting cover on it with no bedding provided. As I pointed that out the owner was not impressed and made that bed with linen that was not ironed as she was ill. I did book weeks in advance! The unit is not serviced. Only one toilet roll supplied for 2 days. So, start catering for adults travelling together who do not wish to sleep in the same bed, and adults to not sleep in a children's bunk bed. We pay good money and I guess we contribute a good part of the annual profits for the tourism industry. Cater for our needs.
When we go back to Montagu we will definitely stay there again.
This place is a gem. The photo on the page is not representative of the wonderful accommodation and facilities. Truly the most value for money - in every respect of our trip.

Little Gem is exactly what its name says. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess. The place is cozy nestled between the mountains with old fashioned beauty. Room and bathroom were very neat and clean. There is a nice lawn for my 2 dogs. Delicious roast in the evening, we can definitely recommend Little Gem.

The self-catering corner is very restricted, especially with regards to the microwave on the floor and the shelf of a TV cabinet.

A very pleasant place to relax. Everything including the garden is neat and well maintained, and has all amenities. Also convenient for dogs. We had two retrievers (Golden Retrievers) together.

We were in the Studio for a weekend. It is a spacious room and excellent bed and we had a great stay. For self-catering it is a bit limited: the website shows a photo of a kitchenette, but the room only has crockery and cutlery, coffee facilities and a microwave oven (under the TV in a cupboard) as in the room's description . However, that didn't stop us from enjoying the weekend. Dishes should be washed outside (or in the bathroom sink).

This place is a true gem. A home away from home. Simple, but the unit still contains everything you need. Service and willingness to help were also lovely.
I booked for three people and was under the impression that it would be two bedrooms. It was then one bedroom with one bed in the living room. My wife then expressed her disappointment about it and the owner then moved us to a bigger one still one bedroom with one extra bed in the living room, but much bigger and everyone was happy. If there are two of us, we will go there again.
Good, quiet, very tidy accommodation for a couple (maybe with 1 child, not ideal for 3 adults); a bit cramped, but the garden makes up for it.

The Little Gem is advertised as: Luxury units. However, these are basic units. Bath water ran out very slowly. Toilet needs servicing - it leaks inside toilet bowl (Valve apparently faulty).
Not the same as pictures on website, but except that, room was very cramped and mattress near its end, everything was very clean and tidy and everything worked. Overall we stayed very nice.

We had a wonderful stay in Little Gem. The cottage is very well equipped. Our two dogs played wonderfully on the grass. This is definitely the best dog friendly accommodation we have ever had.
The room has everything you need with a good double bed and a nice big walk-in shower with plenty of seating. Will sleep there again!

Photos can be very misleading and one is never sure what to expect. The Little Gem surprised by looking exactly as the photos reflected. The house is beautifully "cozy" and super clean and tidy. Your private garden was also a bonus. Janet was so friendly and accommodating and we will definitely call on her again next year.
We expected more than one rather small room for three persons. It good for one night but then for 2 people and not for three.
