I'm not on Whatsapp, nor did I know or be notified, that's a prerequisite. Had a lot of trouble getting onto the premises and into the room. The whole premises is impeccably tidy. With the help of the generator, our aircon worked through the night, big, big, blessing in that heat.
Beautiful spacious room, aircon and a kitchenette. We enjoyed the pool, absolute must in hot summer months. We only missed the botique hotel element as there were no cold refreshments avaiable in 40 degree heat. Otherwise as discribed.

Doing everything electronically doesn't work for us. No staff on site. Can one still call it a hotel then? You feel a bit at the mercy of yourself. Technology is not yet hospitable.

The virtual reception is very detailed. The rooms are luxurious and brand new! All I can suggest - is possible parking for vehicles with a trailer or caravan. There is parking for vehicles only. The location is perfect because they sit on a main route. And the silence is surprising - especially since it is on the main road - one would expect to hear the constant rumble of vehicles - but it is dead quiet and peaceful.
Virtual check-in is ideal, we had a great stay. Only problem is guests who come in late and make noise, but that's probably just the risk of staying in a hotel. Room is luxurious and has everything one needs.

Augrabies beautiful, had a nice evening meal at Red Ox with a beautiful view of the full Orange River, to Kakamas and Keimoes to Augrabies very beautiful, quite dirty to Groblershoop.
Neighbors in 8 were noisy on Saturday night from all the vine moisture.
Everything was in place and we were very grateful for the aircon.
The facility is very neat and modern. Room was spacious with nice self-catering facilities. The "virtual check in" is effective, but impersonal. The only negative is the main route is very noisy and the rooms closest to the road just need an earplug or a sleeping pill. Then also the single bottle of water you get on day 1 is not replaced again. Maybe not a bad idea to have a "jug" of water in the fridge for guests, after all it's Upington and hot.
We traveled from Windhoek to Potchefstroom and stayed in Maxton on the way and the return. Everything was very clean and tidy and modern - thank you! We also had fun swimming in the pool.

Very pleasant. Nice and clean. Welcome was matter of fact, would appreciate more explanation on how the car gate works, etc. It's just the little things that make a big difference. The rooms are nice, would appreciate if there was a place in the bathroom to put one's things down, but that's a common mistake that guesthouses make. Would also appreciate if there were the basic cutlery available. If you want to get something to eat yourself in the evening (since only breakfast is offered - which was delicious) then there are no tools to eat it with. There is a microwave oven.

This was my second time here overnight. I would just like to have tissues and hairdryers (maybe available at reception) in the rooms, but everything else is perfectly neat and very clean. These people really do a lot of effort and you sleep peacefully and safely. Definitely a place to go back to and recommend to others. Service is great and everything looks beautiful - you feel at home!

The place was very nice and neat. There is no washcloth in the room by the kitchen area to clean if one makes a mess and there was not enough sugar and coffee in our room nor sweeteners to accommodate a diabetic, other than that no complaints.
We had an amazing stay for our first visit. We went back to The Maxton Boutique Hotel on our return trip from Namibia. The rooms were clean, the service was great and the breakfast was excellent. Well done to Chantel and her team.

My stay experience was very good until the staff refused to serve breakfast after we were 3 minutes late. It was on a Sunday with only 2 units booked. I myself work in a services organization, and I would go out of my way to provide customer service. The fact that they didn't want to serve breakfast after I paid for it and was only 3 minutes late for it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Definitely will not stay there again or recommend anyone there.
