Neat accommodation that is very well located with good service and hospitality. Would recommend to anyone.
I just loved the fact that is so central we we actually close to everything. We walked to V&A Waterfront and Long Street.
Loved the old-worldly character combined with high-tech work environment and friendly staff. Made us feel at home. Not just another hotel room but a place with a soul.
Reception staff were very friendly, did more than job description. My husband was surprised with cheesecake for his birthday.
We loved the character of the hotel, and the rooms were spacious despite being described as small. It is quirky, which we liked. The staff were friendly. The creaking plumbing may disturb some people, but we didn't mind.
We only stayed over for 1 night. Very clean and accessible.
Very nice experience to stay in the Old Foundry.
Hubby and I enjoyed the hotel's quirkiness and it was funky and fun. Sadly, the actual hotel room is not practical, especially for a stay longer than two nights. The room itself was spacious, no problem there. However, the bathroom is just too impractical and has a far too open view for our liking. A little bit of frosting would go a long way. The bathroom was very cramped and the layout was not great, with nowhere to really place towels. The shower was more than adequate in size, however, the floor was exceptionally slippery and there was quite a step-down out of the shower, so both of us almost fell a few times. And yes, the first room we were in came with a complimentary cockroach. Not to mention 1 towel, no shampoo, and no milk. Thankfully, the staff are lovely and swapped rooms and sorted that out quickly. However, we had no milk again on the very next day. The noise from outside the hotel is just a complete racket, and this is at 6am on a weekend morning. This is not the hotel for you if you want a peaceful and restful stay. Again, the hotel itself is really fun and quite lovely, and in a great position, just the bathrooms are a letdown and the noise from outside is unbearable. Thank you to the staff who were so accommodating and lovely, they really saved the day by changing our room quickly.
Room with black walls, floors and decor, small windows with little light. Lukewarm showers in the Cape winter. One gown, one cup and one towel in a room booked for two. Broken furniture and a cracked mirror. The one towel was full of holes and so washed through that it could no longer dry. We asked for more towels at reception and were promised they would bring them to the room. It never happened. By far the worst accommodation ever in Cape Town, and expensive - especially for what we got.
Some of the things that bothered the room: open bathroom, did not appear as such in photos. Sheer curtain at window facing the street. No power plug in reach of kettle/coffee machine. Coffee machine out of order. No milk available. Crawling insects around the coffee making facilities and on desk. It also felt unsafe at the parking area.
Old Foundry Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again without a doubt!
