Very well organised and clean campsite. It had rained a lot before we arrived, but the tent was dry, and despite loadshedding, we had a great time around our fire!
The weather was miserable, cold and wet, but owners made it as pleasant as possible. The saving grace was the electric blanket! And an incredibly good dinner on the Friday evening where we met interesting folk at a communal table.
The accommodation was convenient in terms of location, which made it easy for me to get to places I visited in the area. The room and bathroom were spacious with good antique furniture. The only downside was that there were too many dogs running in and around the accommodation, and one of the dogs actually attacked me as I was walking to my room. I did not feel safe walking around after that incident and had to look out for the dogs before leaving.
Beautiful, peaceful location. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. A perfect place for my stop over or even suitable for a longer stay. Will definitely stay here again when I am back in the area.
This place was absolutely perfect for someone who loves to camp but wants a bit of comfort at the same time. Super safe and private. And the hosts were friendly and welcoming to both me and my dog. I definitely want to go back.
Enjoyed the tented facility. Great "outdoor living" experience with accommodating hosts especially as there was rugby on the go. Even the power outage didn't cause too much of an issue.
A beautiful place to stay with very friendly people! The pizza that Rene makes on site is a very convenient extra.
We stayed in the Tin Room but can't wait to try The Nest next time. It looks fantastic.
The breakfast was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone who is on their way somewhere quickly.
Lovely area, great pizzas, but be prepared to wait.
A real glamping feeling. Really enjoyed it!
Very small room but adequate, great position with plenty to do in the area.
Fantastic location, enjoyed the camping area very much, conveniently laid out, everything needed is provided, feels like being in the forest especially in the evenings. Beautiful hiking trails around the corner and can go canoeing in the river opposite.
The tented camp was an amazing glamping adventure and my 4 year old son had an absolute ball!
Love the environment around and the host is truly a joy to be around.
Away from the city and busy life, will be even better if I take people along next time.
Was a great place to stay. Very friendly service.
Breakfast is great, neat and value for money.
Well located with very nice surroundings to appreciate. Nice little roads to walk with the kids.
Everything was new.
I had to go to the Garden Route for business and this was the first time I stayed at The Old Trading Post. Each morning I woke up satisfied and wanted to stay longer. The host and hostess are super friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Everything you need is there and you are treated each morning to a fantastic breakfast with the most delicious freshly baked bread. What's more is that it's pet friendly, so if I go there in the future for leisure I can bring my dogs.
It felt like I was at home. The owners are very pleasant and I was pleasantly surprised that the guest house is pet friendly. I will definitely use their accommodation and hospitality again.
The last night of our 10-day holiday during which we spent the night in five different places was also by far the most expensive; therefore we expected something special. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The room was cramped, one part of the wooden floor cracked terribly and the bathroom was particularly small. Also, this room only has half a stable-type door, which means that light from sunrise already shines through the transparent roof sheet into the room and wakes you up. The place was indeed neat and the garden and surroundings beautiful, but the posted requests in the room that one save power and internet data do not suit a place in this price range for me.
We enjoyed the entire experience from check-in right through immensely! What lovely hosts and breakfast in the beautiful garden in the fresh morning air was our highlight. Best place we have stayed at in quite some time. Absolute value for money and what a pleasure, from the decor and comfortable beds, to the food. Simply wonderful! Going to Wilderness? Stay here!
We had a wonderful stay. Food was nice.
Please see the stars.
Friendly service and good facilities make this a good choice.
Incredibly nice stay. The "rustic" farm feel is fantastic. You're a bit far from everything, but it's perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly, the hosts were very friendly. We definitely recommend The Old Trading Post to others.
Lovely rooms with lots of space and a wonderful view of the mountain and lake.
Accommodation is super clean, crisp and stylish. Garden a bird watcher's paradise (everyone else's as well). Hosts warm and helpful and very discrete.
Massive problem with mosquitos. Guests should be told to bring mosquito repellent with as only plugs and insect spray is provided.
