The Red Chimney Guesthouse is always my first choice!
We were looking for accommodation to visit a family member in hospital. The 13 minutes to the hospital were perfect. The unit is safe, tidy and spacious. Friendly service and hospitality. Would definitely recommend The Red Chimney Guesthouse.
Even when Jeandre is not there, he is available and his staff is professional and reliable. Will not stay in another guesthouse other than Red Chimney in Pretoria again.
It was good, but a small sink for the kitchenette and bedside lamps with bedside tables would be welcome.
Great value for money.
After our booking, Jeandre contacted me to confirm what time he could expect us. We were received very kindly. Jeandre showed us the facilities and passed on the necessary arrangements. At least the room had battery lights for when there was load shedding (at that stage Pretoria had level 6 load shedding). There is also secure parking for vehicles which was important to us. Regardless of the load shedding, there was always delicious hot water to shower in. We did have a small problem, but Jeandre came and sorted it out for us in no time. Jeandre was also kind enough to offer me a quick shower after my race before we checked out! Definitely value for money and spot on for what we needed for the weekend in question.
I will stay here again. I used it as an overnight stop to visit family. Unfortunately arrived with load shedding every time I was here, but there was light available.

I often go to Pretoria and use the guest house every time. Nice surroundings, close to the N1 which is very convenient. Very peaceful environment.
Units are very nice and well equipped. I felt very safe, could rest well with the quiet environment and drink coffee on the porch while looking at the beautiful mountain view.

Place is very nice and quiet, I enjoyed the privacy. Owner was helpful with my transportation condition.
Could only be there for a few hours due to illness, no one was there to say goodbye. Had to call to get gate open, then call to get safe code, then call to get DStv on. When we wanted to drink coffee, the powdered coffee was rock hard and all the cups smelled like eggs, one cup was still dirty too. Rest of the place was neat, but will not go there again at all.
I will definitely use their facilities again.
One problem, there was no name outside the building so we weren't sure if we had arrived at the right place. The reception was friendly and loved the fact that we could leave the key in a safe outside the door when we left. The room was clean and there was everything needed to make a cup of tea, as well as a fridge. Restaurants were about a 5 minute drive away. Loved it.
