Quiet and very peaceful!
Marius, the owner, goes out of his way to make your time there as comfortable as possible. And if you come to S'Bosch to buy wine, he is the perfect person to talk to. The room is located opposite his house and is only separated by a door, so it might put some people off but it wasn't a problem for me at all. Breakfast and laundry service were also available. Reasonable distance from nearest shops (not walking distance) so make sure you take enough food with you for the small fridge in the room. Full package DStv and internet was very nice to have. Coffee machine makes delicious coffee! I will definitely stay there again. The silence and tranquility (and the 2 very friendly little dogs) is good for the soul.

The room is small and compact. We had everything needed for a business trip. Thank you very much for your kind service. We will come and stay again if we have to spend the night in Stellenbosch.

Stayed there for 5 days - very nice room which is very well equipped for a beige traveller. Good quality coffee machine (with biscuits!) was available in the room. Internet via WiFi was nice and fast (they recently got "fibre") - and Marius was quick to sort out any problems! Peaceful quiet neighborhood on the slopes of the mountain. Ideal for doing some mountain biking in the mountains. But note that it is outside walking distance from Stellenbosch city centre.
The photos on the website don't reveal that this is essentially a room in somebody's back yard - your view is their back yard complete with washing line, overlooked by another flat that is rented out on a longterm basis. The room is clean but small, and the worst part is that it is actually attached to the main house and just separated from the kitchen of the main house by a interleading door which is locked from the host's side! This is not conducive to a feeling of relaxation and privacy. Another unpleasant surprise is that the TV didn't work properly. The host tried to sort it out, but couldn't, so for my 3 day stay I was reliant on Netflix, which on this particular system was so complicated to navigate that I gave up. Not what you want after a long, tiring day out and about when you just want to relax. The best part of this accommodation was the domestic helper who welcomed me and showed me around - she was very friendly and helpful. I realise that this is budget accommodation, but it should at least be absolutely clear about what it does and doesn't offer.
Neat place to stay, good value for money, very clean, suitable for business travel. Very friendly host and also makes delicious wine!
Owners were extremely hospitable and secure parking. Must add it was the nicest bed we've ever slept on!
It was a pleasant experience staying at the Rose. The host really thought of everything: fantastic coffee, safe parking, drink refreshments in the fridge, etc. The Rose is furnished and planned down to the finest detail. I would definitely recommend staying here!

No problem. Host was very good.
T was very clean and Marius gave us 3 bottles of wine (highly appreciated). Clearly found that Stellenbosch is a very expensive city, certainly to make the rich parents of students poor. We spent very little time in the place, driving around a lot and tasting wine. The place is somewhat on the small side and needs a couch to relax after a long day's wine farm. Nevertheless, nice visit and can recommend the place.
