We were upgraded to the wooden chalet at no extra cost and this chalet has wonderful views of the sea over the treetops. No monkeys also adds to laving your windows open at night.

The location is great, just a stone's throw from the beach. The property is fenced and secure. Each house/chalet is private and you don't see your neighbours. The beach is safe and quiet. We could walk for hours on the deserted beach and see no one. The swimming beach is a short walk with lifeguards in season. The wooden chalet is without luxuries, but clean with the basic necessities. Take your own gas stove and emergency lights with you for loadshedding. We had problems with the drainage, but the owners attended to it. They make use of rainwater in tanks. There is no washing machine and we had to use the laundry service in town. We were 5 adults and after a while the space got a bit cramped. One climbs wooden steps to the chalet and older people or a family with small children should bear this in mind.

We stayed in unit D, it had an amazing ocean view and felt completely private and closed off from the rest of the world. Exactly what we wanted. And all the local shops were about 5min drive away.

The house is very comfortable and there was everything we needed to enjoy the 3 days there together. The place needs some attention. The shower head needs to be replaced. The kitchen and especially the stove need a good cleaning (deep clean).
The accommodation was clean and neat with all that is required. It is peaceful and secure. Adequate parking.

We spent four wonderful and peaceful nights in their Vermont style chalet. The chalet was clean and tidy and equipped with everything one might need. The place has the most beautiful sea views and is located on the beach. Can definitely recommend The Spinning Reel and would stay there again myself. The hostess, Kim, is very friendly and offered her help if we needed anything or wanted to know anything about the area.
It had been very peaceful and when I had a question the lady was immediately there to help.

Our stay was pleasant, but the weather a bit funny. I love a place where I can see the ocean. Watch the whales and dolphins come by.
Had some trouble with the gas water heater, but everything necessary was included. Would have liked a potjiekos pot, otherwise truly value for money, especially for people with small children.
I like the sea view from the place. The beach is beautiful and clean. Easy walking distance from accommodation.
Price-wise, a reasonable place to stay for short periods. However, we will not stay there for more than a few days.
