What an interesting stay and well done to the owners. I watched the rugby there and what a vibe the place had. Thanks again.
We had a great stay! Rooms are clean and very friendly service!
See stars.
Train station very cute and neatly furnished. Had a great stay and slept! Thank you very much.
Years of memories based on Calitzdorp's train station, with traces of steel lying in front of your room, and where you sleep in the ticket office and realize outside your door is the platform that has been used by people for years. May this be preserved for our young people. Reception by Calitzdorp's friendly people is just something different for us. The facilities are clean and there are nice social evenings at the old parcel office which has been converted into a nice atmosphere where you can come and have a drink and gaze over the plains and tracks of Calitzdorp Train Station. Definitely a place you should never drive past without visiting the tracks of Calitzdorp and enjoying evenings under the stars and the wide open fresh air on the platform.
Comfy beds, nice barbecue, nice pool.
Peaceful and full of nature, owls nesting, birds singing. Also, the night staff were friendly and made me feel safe.
Nice, clean, tidy, would definitely come again and recommend it to anyone.
Awesome place. Adults and kids loved it. Will definitely be back.
Something different from the usual. Permanent tent accommodation was neat and clean. Will definitely stay there again.
Just as delicious as before.
We booked to camp, but when we arrived it was raining. Shaun offered us accommodation in their permanent tents. We really enjoyed our time there. Only recommendations from our side might be hanging space for a light and also for the towels.
Enjoyable and unique.
We had a great time, the "locals" are nice people! Popular stop for motorcyclists which made it interesting.
Awesome stay, a good tourist place.
Very nice stay, is central and the rooms are clean. Place has a lot of character, is unique you won't find it anywhere else, and the people are hospitable.
We enjoyed our stay in the permanent tents. The place is in a beautiful location with a lot of character, with the train tracks and handcarts which you can take for a ride.
Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful overnight stay.
Really enjoyed it at the station. It's just a shame that some guests leave dishes just dirty and expect the workers to clean up after them. Tents only need a chair or table for your loose things, such as make-up etc.
See stars.
Room a few steps across from a hangout where people hung out noisily until late at night and rode trolleys on tracks after alcohol had clearly started to take over inhibitions. Shivering cold with only thin fleece blankets available. No washing or toilet facilities in room. We didn't come to camp. No place to hang clothes. Mirror mounted on rickety tomato box. Boiler faulty.
The drive was short but we will return again.
It was lovely and perfect for people who are touring from town to town and just looking for a place to sleep.
Had a great time camping at The Station Calitzdorp. The property as a whole was beautiful. The facilities were in good condition and clean.
Value for money and clean. Friendly staff. Nice shared kitchen with fridge and stove. Clean bathrooms with nice showers.
We attended the Vetplant Fees, there couldn't be a better place to stay than right there!
Would definitely stay in the tent accommodation again.
It was a unique experience that I would like to experience again and because it is on the R62, I would like to stay there for more days.
Had a great time. A definite must if you are staying overnight in Calitzdorp. It's a very nice environment and who wouldn't want to stay at such an old and beautiful station!
We really enjoyed our time here. Accommodation is clean and tidy. Owners are friendly and helpful. We checked in very early and it was no problem. We also forgot our barbecue grill, but it was sorted out for us very quickly and without difficulty. Will definitely stay there again.
It exceeded all our expectations.
With a fantastic host who's willing to share plenty of interesting anecdotes about the station and its history over a beer.
Great welcome, comfy accommodation, fully equipped kitchen and clean ablutions.
The Station accommodation is unique and full of character. The old station house and train tracks in front of the platform take you back to yesteryear when we could still ride trains in South Africa. The lounge and bar is also a winner.
We stayed 2 nights at The Station Calitzdorp, and we really enjoyed it. A novel idea to use an old railway station as accommodation. Good ablutions, clean sites, tented or room options.
A most enjoyable stay.
If in that area again, will book there again.
The station's overnight tents are equipped with luxury bedding, their bathrooms are super clean and have a well-equipped kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The station is conveniently located. It was great! There is a power point in the tents, you just have to remember your own light. Fortunately, our loadshedding lamps were on holiday together.
The Station Calitzdorp is a diamond for sure. We enjoyed the evening so much that we wanted to stay longer. The owners are wonderful people with a passion for tourism and with the leisure pool and bar on site it is extremely convenient. Their tents were beautifully clean and comfortable and the ablution facilities so beautifully clean and cared for. Thank you for a lovely overnight stay.
The facilities were clean and tidy. The children played wonderfully. Will visit again and stay longer.
The cultural experience plus grounds make it a must.
Beautiful surroundings, clean, comfortable accommodation and the kids loved the rail cart.
We had a really nice stay! Just a suggestion: a shelf/table in the tent for the extra blanket and pillows, then it doesn't have to go to the ground. Maybe also a place to hang your wet towel.
Sean and wife are friendly and go the extra mile on all requests. I will stay there again and tell other adventure bikers to stay there.
Lovely, peaceful, safe location. The staff is nice.
Make owners feel welcome immediately. Clean and tidy and place looks like their advertisement. Very interesting place with memories of an old station.
