The hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The room was available earlier than announced without any problem. The room was well-located and quiet. The breakfast in the restaurant is very convenient and generous. Parking is available in an underground garage. But our car was too high and couldn't enter the garage. The staff helped us secure a parking spot outside on the street, really appreciated.

Improvment on WiFi in rooms essential. As range and quality very poor. Lastly, the bed was very uncomfortable. Probably overly used and passed used by date. Replacement and improvement on these areas are crucial.
Television hangs crooked. Almost no wi-fi. Breakfast below standard.
Breakfast was not ready at 7 am as advertised, most likely due to load shedding. The staff should have mentioned this to guests beforehand. They did mention loadshedding for the evening when booking in, but I could not find the light in my room they told me I would find for use during loadshedding.
No generator or emergency lights in rooms, can get from reception. Why is it not already put in rooms if they know there is load shedding. Rooms only ready after two due to load shedding. Not customers problem.
It was unfortunately very quick, but the experience was very nice. I will be back again with my wife. Thank you very much for a nice quick visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even though I didn't check in until after 10 pm. Breakfast felt like my grandmother's. Felt like I was at home. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Upon arrival the staff were friendly. They were helpful and I was assisted to my room. Everything was carefully explained to me. It is clean and well located. Very pretty. Breakfast was very nice.
Beautiful old building but reception can do with a modern facelift. Comfortable rooms. Air conditioning takes quite a while to get going. Security keeps an eye on door at room 6 which opens onto street.
Although the hotel was busy with renovations, it did not affect us at all. Room was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really very pleasant!

Wonderful place... Our room was right next to the cleaners' entrance and they were a bit noisy in the morning. Once the restaurant is renovated, it will be even better.
We were initially booked into room 26, and upon arrival had to move up a fire staircase in pouring rain to the room. There is also no direct lift access between reception and several sets of stairs have to be climbed to get to the room. We requested another room and were allocated room 4. Although the room is beautiful and luxurious, it is located opposite reception. During the evening until very late there was noise at the reception all the time, and on Friday morning we were woken up very early (at 6 o'clock) by the contractors who started construction with great noise. The Stellenbosch Hotel is a lovely destination and very centrally located, but the following made the stay unpleasant: the location of room 26, the fire escape that gives access to the room in pouring rain, no lifts. There was load shedding that evening, and we were equipped with one single light (no generators). On request we were provided with a second light. The contractor making improvements on the site is disturbing and unsafe. The website is misleading and makes no mention of the contractors and improvements. Guests book in good faith and are then confronted with the unpleasant circumstances upon arrival. Given the current circumstances, a discount on the normal rate would be expected.
The hotel was exactly what we needed on a business visit to Stellenbosch. Thank you very much.
