The cabin comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms and a spacious living and kitchen area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and the second bedroom has 2 single beds. Each bathroom is fitted with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, a 4-plate gas hob, and a microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. The spacious deck has braai facilities, including a charcoal braai and smoker, outdoor seating, and a wood-fired hot tub.
The interior is minimalist and has an industrial look but the beautiful clean finishes have not been compromised. In line with the hosts' concern for the environment, each bathroom has a compost toilet which will be serviced every day. Rainwater is collected as much as possible, and all grey water is recycled for the garden.
The cabin is situated on a smallholding with natural vegetation, and abundant birdlife, including birds of prey such as kestrels and eagles, and small wildlife like mongoose, francolin, guineafowl, tortoises, and the occasional duiker roaming free. It is the ideal spot for escaping technology, reading a book, or relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the view. In the right season, and equipped with a pair of binoculars, whales, and dolphins can be seen playing in the bay.
The village of St Helena Bay and nearby beaches are within 5 to 15 km from the cabin. The hill is quite steep and walking to the village is not recommended. Walking and cycling for leisure is a nice activity to undertake on the hill. St Helena Bay has grocery stores, a petrol station, restaurants and pubs. The nearest town of Vredenburg is 28 km away, where guests will find the West Coast Mall and most other shops.

The silence, the view, the hosts - everything was top.
Although we were sceptical about the toilet facilities, it proved to not be a problem at all. It was one of our best vacations and I would highly recommend the Tin Shack. Clean, safe and everything it promised to be.
Absolutely brilliant. We loved everything about the tin shack. The view is spectacular, the hot tub is fantastic. The unit is fully equipped with everything you need. We will definitely be back. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. Loved it. Brian and Marna welcomed us, and the champagne was a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
It was wonderful, with the most beautiful view while enjoying a glass of wine in the hot spot.
Even though the weather was a bit unlucky, it was lovely to arrive and the fireplace was already on, waking up the cottage. Marna and Bryan are wonderful hosts and made us feel at home while we were there. Many small details and special attention have been given to the place to make the stay enjoyable.
The Tin Shack is a luxurious, romantic getaway of the highest quality. The scenery and location are breathtakingly beautiful. Even though we had stormy weather, the place is so well positioned that with wind and rain we could still barbecue and use the hot tub. Available at all times and immediately there when the severe gale blows the gutters! We go every year for our wedding anniversary and the Tin Shack is one of our top 5 for sure! (Ex. 17).
We had a very nice stay, rested very well. We appreciated and enjoyed every little detail.
This stay was truly special. The view and the unit were indescribably beautiful. The hot tub is something to remember!
Our time at the Tin Shack was wonderful! The highlight of our time there was without a doubt the breathtaking view from the deck and the hot tub. Waking up to that view was a truly mesmerizing experience. The house itself is well furnished with all the necessary amenities. The host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend it to everyone!
Friendly welcome by Marna and Brian. Good information received ahead of time and use of facility very nicely explained on arrival. Great rest with a beautiful view and surrounded by natural beauty.
We had an amazing start to our honeymoon at The Tin Shack, enjoying the views over the bay from the Kol-Kol. The fireplace inside provides more than adequate heating for the cold winter nights. The compostable toilet was a new twist .
The fresh West Coast air and warm water from the hot tub worked wonders. Will definitely visit again.
What a great break from the city. We had a great time staying in The Tin Shack! Marna and Bryan put a lot of effort into our arrival. The hot tub and beautiful view is definitely a bonus! Everything that is needed is provided. It was truly amazing!
Enjoyed a wonderful 2 days. Neat, clean and everything needed. Beautiful view, lovely to go for a short walk. Hospitable reception. Thank you very much, we will come again.
We had a very nice stay. Nice and quiet and a very nice view of the sea.
Thanks to Marna for the amazing stay. Every detail of the place is extremely thoughtful, very neat and cosy. The hot tub was a 10/10 and the highlight. Hope to go back soon.
Excellent place to stay just to get away from it all.
Fantastic location with a breathtaking view over the sea. The house is neat and clean and Marna and Bryan are the friendliest hosts. Definitely worth a visit.
What a cool place to stay in. Its so peaceful and relaxing sitting in the kolkol sipping on champagne. Very cool design. I can see Brian and Marna put so much effort into the space. Would definitely recommend!
Marna really went out of her way for us. The accommodation was neat with everything you need. We had a wonderful, nice rest and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Truly a break away from a busy lifestyle! Everyone should at lease experience the beauty of this hidden gem once in their lifetime. We loved every moment of our stay! We highly recommended The Tin Shack.
We had the best time at The Tin Shack. Already looking forward to next visit. The owners feel like old friends!
We were there with friends and really enjoyed it. The Kol-Kol bath is always a bonus and the view was fantastic.
Stunning views, peace and quiet. Great service.
Marna and Bryan came to greet us in person and made sure we felt at home quickly. We had a great time and rested, as well as admiring the beautiful surroundings. The Tin Shack is definitely a place where time stands still.
