The weekend was a peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings.
We were put in another unit, because other guests had to be moved. The sewerage smell coming from the bathroom was not pleasant, even when you closed the bathroom door. The TV did not work neither the aircon. We planned to stay in bed to watch a movie and go for breakfast at 9h45. We ended up leaving the unit and had breakfast after 8:00. The owner did apologise and gave breakfast for free.
Orchid suite is lovely. Clean, neat. Tasteful furniture. Very friendly welcome.
Joan and Raymond went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it could be. It was one of the coldest nights and our rooms were heated and cozy. The Rose cottage was lovely and well-equipped!
Plekkie is very beautiful and everyone is friendly, will definitely want to stay there again, just stay longer. Garden is very, very beautiful.
The food is absolutely awesome there.
1. On arrival we were asked to wait outside reception by a man and the people who came to us were helped first. 2. My fiancé has difficulty walking, I asked if there was a shorter way from the room to the parking area, I was told no. But down the hall is a door that exits directly onto the parking area without the uneven pavement and neck-breaking steps. 3. There is only one towel for two people. The house was dark and felt deserted and devoid of personality. 4. The bathroom mirror is cracked and the shower shelf is gone. The toilet's flush mechanism is having trouble activating. 5. There are structural cracks in the bedroom, damp spots on the wall, cornices are cracked and where the curtain rail has been moved the holes and paint have not even been repaired. The corner of the bedroom is poorly and untidy finished. The trim around the bathroom door is swollen with moisture and looks untidy. 6. The carpets are shabby and creepy. We hadn't been in a place that felt so old and neglected in a long time. 7. The rooms and house are not properly clean, there is dust on the light switches, windowsills, moldings and lights. 8. The gate motor doesn't work, we had to open the gate in the rain and darkness when we came back from the wedding. 9. Two downlighters in the bedroom and the wall light does not work. The bedside lamps have different bulbs in them, a cool white and a warm white. Both bedside lamps had to be tinkered with before they worked due to bad plugs and loose bulbs. 10. The sign posting to the unit is poor and confusing. You understand there are always small problems, the place feels as if it was last up to standard when Barny Banato was still on the reef. For us, what we paid and what we experienced are in line with each other. The place needs a serious and detailed revamp in our opinion to be worth the 4 stars.
Fantastic place and value for money.
No boiler. Had to wait an hour for a kettle. Was very cold. Rained Received boiler on standby. There were not enough candles. The candles that were there were probably 3cm long and the oil lamp was empty. I had to use my phone to call the owner to open and close the gate. Call for the kettle. Probably 5 unnecessary calls between me and the owner. Other than that it was very pleasant.
Beautiful garden. There is no Jacuzzi. There is no attention to detail and the maintenance of the guesthouse needs attention. There was also no WiFi available.

We had a wonderful time in Henley on Klip. We didn't have a lot of time to spend at the guest house but the accommodation was comfortable and ideal. The garden is beautiful and the rooms are lovely. We are very happy to have discovered the town of Henley on Klip and will definitely return for a weekend with our children.

Only saw the owner/manager when we sat down for breakfast the next morning. The cleaning lady helped us as best she could with the in book. The place is neat and the suite was clean. The thatched roof unit unfortunately had a lot of spiders in it. You'll need to take a can of Doom with you. The minibar didn't have anything in it so just take water, soft drinks etc. together for children. At breakfast there were no options given (which one would prefer), just an omelette and toast brought. At least the karaoke next door was not audible inside the unit, it did not disturb the sleep. All the little wofs walking around there are cute but be careful some of them were not very welcoming and had to carry the little one. Basically tidy and so, good for an overnight stay but not 10/10.
The gardens are beautiful and there is a lot of bird life. It's so peaceful there. The unit we stayed in was very clean and tidy and the staff are friendly, helpful and hospitable. Will be able to recommend it for sure. The breakfast was also delicious.

The place is beautiful, neat and clean. I felt at home immediately. The immediately brough a heater to the room and made sure I had everything I needed. Lit the fireplace in the breakfast room the next morning, relaxing music. Stunning garden, birds in the morning. Well book again any day!
Very nice stay, only missed sports channel to watch rugby! Very nice and well furnished.
Stayed two nights and the accommodation and surroundings were special. The nature of my visit were of such that I spent little time there, which is half a pity. Will definitely make it my destination if I'm in the area.
