Rooms were neat, and staff friendly, but there were no cupboards to unpack clothes in. It's uncomfortable if you live out of a suitcase for a few days.
The accommodation was very good, tidy. However, this is not a bed and breakfast, breakfast is additionally added to the bill. It is also not self-catering, there is no microwave oven, plates, cutlery where the guest can prepare food. There are no shops nearby where the guest can buy food, the nearest town is Vredendal (21km).
Chrisna, the manager, is a fantastic hostess and very helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely use The Vine again for any accommodation in the future. The breakfast was delicious.

The Vine offers a basic accommodation for a travelling salesman or an Eskom technician who does not mind a cold water shower. A small room with spartan furniture and a tiny bathroom with no place to put one's toiletries. A cup of tea is offered as the only luxury; not even a single saucer being available.

The hostess received us very kindly and the guest house is very neat and clean. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
The hostess does not live on the premises. We have e.g. called her when guests from Namibia arrived because their phones didn't work. Parking is under lock and key and I noticed that there is also a camera present. Security was good. Hot water doesn't depend on Eskom, it runs on gas, so that's a bonus. We were just not too happy about the open milk jug in the fridge, but that's just us now. During load shedding, there were many dogs barking continuously somewhere, but it subsided later and we slept wonderfully.
A bit expensive. There is a method to follow with the shower, otherwise hot water is too little. Maybe consider a TV box that can offer Netflix or other options. Current TV channels are really not nice. The pool only has a tarpaulin on the inside that is not attached to anything, so when you put pressure on the tarpaulin, the tarpaulin goes under water. So, in my opinion, not safe for children (even though there is a gate to the pool). Furthermore, it was very neat and clean, bedding of good quality and air conditioning helped a lot. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality and for accommodating us.
The Vine guest house received us kindly. The room is neat and the guest house is well located. Might recommend that a mirror be provided with the hair dryer, as well as a plug to use the hair dryer.

The Vine is a gem of a guesthouse. The room was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. The hostess, Christa, is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning (arrange with her for that). Klawer is well situated to enjoy this part of the country. Clanwilliam and Nieuwoudtville are within reach. I recommend The Vine with confidence.

No shower soaps and shampoo. For a place that has mosquitoes they should have a mosquito lamp (or something like that) in the rooms. Shower was dirty (tiles).

We decided to stay here 2 nights to go wine tasting. We arrived on Saturday and left Monday morning. We didn't get to go wine tasting since all the wine farms close at 1pm on a Saturday and open on Monday again, so that was a complete waste. Furthermore, there is nowhere to fine anything to eat in town on a Sunday and don't expect to find much in Vredendal either. Considering the accommodation is in a town that offers so little, a microwave in the room would have been nice. Also, the host didn't know much about local attractions. A bit disappointing really. The room was clean and it's good enough for a one night stop, but that is about it.
Conveniently situated and a good host
Our five day stay at The Vine was a delight. The guesthouse is impeccably clean, modern and very tastefully decorated with secure parking and all amenities in a tranquil neighbourhood. White Egyptian Cotton in the bed and in the bathroom, a well-stocked fridge with fresh milk for coffee and tea (daily rusks on the house!) and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Christa is a most gracious hostess, fully bilingual and with the perfect balance between caring attentiveness and respect for privacy. She also makes the most scrumptious breakfasts that will see you through the entire day! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to return there, given the chance. We highly recommend The Vine both to local and foreign visitors.

Clean, tidy room with a comfortable, nice big bathroom. We had load shedding - there were lights available in the rooms. I ran into the owner in reception, we had such a nice chat that I was invited for a drink. Breakfast was pleasant. A plus was that it is pet friendly. At breakfast the owner took my puppy and they looked after him. Will definitely book there again.
Klawer was not our first choice as overnight accommodation, but we soon changed our minds. We slept in room 3. It was nice and spacious, clean and the car was safe behind the locking gates. As a bonus, we found a lovely place to hang out in front of our door where we could enjoy our meals and drink coffee. Our hostess, Christa, was up-and-coming and able to guide us to many destinations. We had a great time sleeping and visiting here!

It was an incredible experience. The view is extremely beautiful, the place is well equipped and the veranda makes you feel like you are in nature on your own. The art gallery is great too.
