Excellent, wonderful hosts!
We wanted an overnight stay that was out of the hustle and bustle but still close enough to spend time in the town. Exactly what we were looking for.
We attended the annual Interschools and the location was absolutely ideal. The rooms and facilities were very good and comfortable. Our host and hostess received us kindly and immediately made us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. We will definitely visit again!
The Whyte House staff went out of their way to look after us after a very long journey. We only arrived after 22:00 due to road closure Already long after check-in time. The host received us generously! Best sleep ever!

We sleep a lot in Graaff Reinet and are familiar with most available accommodation in the town and The Whyte House was a pleasant surprise. The host and his wife were very friendly and helpful, the room spacious, clean and fully equipped (maybe with the exception of a TV), a nice bed and the breakfast was delicious. We felt safe at the guest house (even to the parking) and the WiFi worked well. We can confidently recommend The Whyte House.

The photos do represent the space, however, it must be noted that the honeymoon apartment is upstairs. . The toilet is in the open-plan, so no door.

It is a great place, the service is excellent, met the owners and got suggestions on local restaurants for the evening dinner. Breakfast was great, with Denise preparing a delicious omelet.

We arrived after a 9-hour journey and immediately felt clam and relaxed once we arrived. Rob and Amy are super hosts. Our only disappointment was they we were only there for one night!

The guest house is beautifully furnished and the veranda a big bonus. The drinks and snacks on the stoep were a big treat. Rob, the owner, was always on hand with tips about the area and Denise catered to our every need. The breakfast was delicious.

We had a lovely stay at the Whyte House. Nice quiet environment with a beautiful view of the mountain. The room as well as the bathroom are wonderfully spacious and we slept very well on the big bed. The breakfast was delicious and so beautifully presented. Thank you very much for the hospitality.

Not only was the reception, the service, breakfast, location and friendliness top notch, but the room layout, high quality linen and sleeping facilities were equivalent to those of a 5 star hotel.
We will definitely stay here again if we go to Graaff-Reinet. The bed was perfect, soft and nicely made. The room was large and there was even a small fridge and hairdryer. There was fresh bread and muffins baked for our breakfast. The pool was also very nice after a long day of driving. We look forward to staying at The Whyte house again!

The Whyte House was definitely the best place to kick off our holiday to the Cape. We arrived in Graaff-Reinet just after 17:00 after an 8 hour drive from Johannesburg and were greeted very kindly by our hostess. We were shown our room and she even suggested dinner options. The guest house is quiet, very tidy and the swimming pool was the nicest refreshment after the long drive. The room has everything you need and we wished we could have stayed another night to shake off the hustle and bustle of the city. The breakfast was delicious and we were once again amazed by the hospitality of the host and wife. The kitchen staff and Penny the dog who came to say hello were very friendly. The mini-bar stock is like the one from a hotel and nothing is missing! We will definitely stay there again in the future and then we will book at least two nights.
We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was very special and we enjoyed our stay very much. The guest house is beautiful, everything is designed, built and furnished by the owner - so it's so unique and exceptional. The breakfast was a great treat at the large table in the spacious dining room. I really hope we can make another trip to The Whyte House!

Secure parking and in a pleasant area. Host and hostess meet us personally directly upon arrival. The place is an oasis. The rooms are spacious with nice facilities, and The Whyte House maintains the Graaff-Reinet tradition of a stylish provenance. Breakfast is beautiful.

Bathroom needs attention. There's no space to put your toiletries if you want to take a bath. Not enough rails for the towels either. Otherwise, a lovely place.

Water pressure in bathroom very weak. Wash no water in hot tap next morning. Had to do without bath or shower. No extra necessities in room e.g. tissues, shredder basket, etc. Could make coffee.

Lovely place to rest after a long journey and to have a good night's rest before the rest of your journey. We slept really well.
Children enjoyed the pool and the cute dog played with them. We also enjoyed the most delicious dinner with fresh vegetables from the garden, together with two German guests. Beautiful place.
The rooms are spacious. No TV and we were left on our hands.
Easy to reach, and well located in the quieter part of Graaff-Reinet, although within walking distance of delicious places to eat such as Polka Cafe. Roz welcomes you generously and warmly, and the rooms are beautifully furnished and well laid out with a peaceful atmosphere created by the garden and nice porch. Breakfast was delicious, served by friendly young ladies from Graaff-Reinet, who don't mind speaking Afrikaans with you. Parking is ample, easy to get in and out, and security is good.

At breakfast we were excluded because there were people at the breakfast table so we were excluded and had to wait until they walked. It was a bad experience.
