174 guests' feedbackBeautiful place, with a relaxing environment, spacious, friendly staff, and delicious meals, one of the best stays we booked through you.
Incredibly nice, very nice rooms with the most beautiful view. Changed rooms twice, then ended up in the perfect room, bottom floor, on the grass.
It was delicious. The breakfast covers all tastes- my 4 year old could eat as many sprinkles on waffles as he wanted.
Had a great time, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Breakfast fantastic. Staff very helpful. Hotel itself lacks attention to maintenance, especially air conditioners which are old.

We had a wonderful stay in the luxury rooms, worth the extra money!
Lovely stay. From arrival - Very friendly and helpful porter. Reception - Both ladies were warm and accommodating. Room - Clean and cosy. Just the very slow WiFi needs attention. Venue - Facilities need upgrade with maybe a warm pool for winter break away. Breakfast was lovely. The waffles are a treat.
We had a very nice stay. The accommodation made an effort for our group by having neighbours, ice and glasses available for barbecuing in the evenings. The breakfast was very nice, and location perfect, can walk to all the restaurants.
Extremely helpful and very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Best experience of our trip. The reception and the personal attention were excellent. I am an amputee currently having a problem with the remaining foot. The person who took care of our luggage immediately saw that our room was a long way from where we needed to be. He immediately negotiated with the receptionist himself and when we returned from dinner we were booked into a comfortable room on the ground floor close to all the amenities. Really a different kind of service this. I will them anytime.
We traveled with our 2 teenage sons. The room was spacious, neat and beautifully clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Compared to other accommodation options in the area, the price was very good. This was not our first visit to the place. While the amenities and decor have aged over the years and can now be classed as "simple", it is still a pleasant visit. The location remains convenient and is the ideal overnight stop on a trip from the Cape to the Eastern Cape.
Pleasant stay and delicious breakfast.
The hotel is old and I see that it is being refurbished. I will return in the future.
Stated the bedding was damp, shower leaked inside room. No soap or shampoo. Toilet paper is damp. No spoon or stick to stir sugar.
Although it is in season, the price was quite high for a very small room overlooking the boundary walls. I was not impressed. The location is great but the hotel itself is not really up to scratch. WiFi did not work in the room, and they charge guests for using their so-called gym.
Very nice stay. Staff were very helpful.
We had a wonderful stay at The Wilderness Hotel. Would definitely go back in summertime. Great amenities for all ages.
Friendly reception. Reported problem with shower and they came to fix it within hours. Room cleaned every day. Delicious breakfast.
The Wilderness Hotel offers a comfortable stay at an affordable price, peaceful with restaurants just a walk away, however, also a short drive away to busier Knysna which offers boat cruises and nightlife bars. Great service. Thank you Wilderness Hotel!
Pleasant visit, friendly staff.
Yes, nice stay. The shower's water was only cold in the morning when we left. Maybe the loadshedding's fault. Also very nice stay.
Nice destination with something for the whole family.
The hotel is a bit neglected. Our geyser didn't work and we had to take a cold shower (we only stayed one night). Furthermore, it is a beautiful, historic hotel centrally located in Wilderness.
Probably the wrong time. They are upgrading and it was disturbing. The quality of the restaurant is poor.
We secured the booking via the website's app. We were received well by friendly staff but, it became quite apparent that we were placed in the "old part" of the hotel. The rooms were tired and smelled of oldness. The outside veranda has not been cleaned in years. Having stayed at this hotel twice before many years ago, we were very disappointed with the lack of upkeep. Excellent breakfast made it a bit better but sadly we will not stay there again.
Would love to stay there again in the future.

Was everything plus more than we expected. Great service and friendly staff.
Staff went out of their way to help us. Our time was wonderful. All staff were friendly and helpful. Since my husband and I are disabled. The room was well laid out and we could move freely with wheelchairs.
Hotel is very well located. Very nice rooms. Rooms are cleaned every day and provided with clean linen and towels. Breakfast is so much to choose from. Centrally located.
We recently stayed at this hotel and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are well laid out and perfect for a family. The hotel has plenty of activities such as tennis, squash and swimming - it's just a shame we didn't have time to use the facilities. It is also within walking distance of the restaurants. It was really a very nice experience.
The breakfast was very nice. Will stay here again for sure.
It was outstanding service and high quality comfort. Thank you it was excellent.
Friendly staff and fantastic breakfast!
Location of hotel excellent, many places to eat nearby. The hotel's food is delicious.
Neat, comfortable facilities. Beautiful surroundings, enjoy a delicious breakfast.
We decided that after 34 years of marriage we would go back to the same hotel we had our honeymoon at for our anniversary, it was really nostalgic, staff were friendly and that breakfast is awesome. Room was neat clean and comfortable - we had a really good time.
Although a little worn around the edges, the Wilderness Hotel is hospitable and relaxing. Lovely staff at reception and the ladies doing the morning buffet are very friendly. Breakfast was great, with a good selection of food. You can't beat their location, right in the centre of the village. We walked everywhere.
Our food that evening was only cold and no salt or pepper. We asked for "room service", and there was not a mini fridge in the room as stated. Other than that, it was very nice, thank you very much.
We enjoyed staying at this hotel as it is within walking distance of the town, the beach and the river. It is great for teenagers to have the freedom to wander around. The rooms were standard, but neat and comfortable. The atmosphere was pleasant, with lovely historical photographs of the hotel and region along the walls. The breakfasts were a highlight every morning as there was a delicious variety and plenty to please everyone.
I think that 1 bedroom is too small for 4 people.
The water in the shower was cold when I showered in the early morning. It was a very cold winter day and made showering impossible. I was not allowed to eat dinner in the buffet, as according to the staff it was reserved for a group of guests (film makers). However, there were very few people in the restaurant and more than enough food for many people.
We also stayed on the side where the staff went in and out which was very noisy and they even made very loud noise at 2 in the morning. Everything is getting old now, also would really recommend they refurbish. Staff were more interested in talking loudly to each other at breakfast than helping customers.
Infestation of rats in room 133's ceiling which kept us awake both nights. Did inform reception but it seemed they did not care. Service at reception not good at all as the desk was unattended most of the time with people lining up waiting to check in. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast.
We had a great stay and will be back again.
It was a great location.
Enjoyed breakfast and views and location. Hotel has a rich history and will need to refocus to the future to draw in more South Africans.
The hotel is ideally located in Wildernis close to restaurants and the beach. We had a great stay and enjoyed a delicious breakfast!
Very nice with quick and friendly service.
From arrival, service, friendliness and cleanliness exceeded our expectations!
I am very happy with the Hotel, very friendly staff and amazing breakfast buffet every morning.
Location good - service and facilities also good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Good service and friendly, African people.
Our stay was very nice and all the staff were super friendly. Breakfast outstanding and very well located!
Weekend was great.
Breakfast was great!
The rats in their roof keep you awake at night. The toilet in our room was loose. The carpets have been walked through. Would not want to stay there again.
Beds' headboard broken.
The breakfast was also okay.
Have used the hotel previously this visit did not meet my experience on prior visits although to be fair that was more than 20 years ago and the hotel has changed ownership and been through a rebuild.
Children facilities need to be maintained, not in good order. Showers/water requires attention.
The service could improve and the availability of items on the restaurant's menu. Hotel room was neat.
The hotel has deteriorated a lot, there is a lot of maintenance work to do. I realize that Covid has an impact, but the service delivery is not up to expectations. Had to e.g. mornings looking for cutlery, small plates etc. The area may be safe but the parking area's gate was open, no one in the guardhouse.
The rooms I booked are not what I was offered. There was no hot water available in the rooms.
I'm not going to say anything. I will never stay here again. Finished!
The hotel is unfortunately old and management is extremely poor. We weren't the only ones complaining - many of the guests we ran into complained too. Not value for money at all. Unfortunately would not recommend the hotel. Very very regret that I spent so much money on accommodation there.
Always a pleasure. This time stayed in another room which was even better. Thank you.
For a busy family like ours there was a lot to do during the lockdown period during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Recently moved and it was very stressful. We needed the rest.
We had a wonderful stay with our two young children at the hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the actual hotel was really beautiful. The food was really good and my kids loved all the options from the buffet! Lots to do for free like putt putt, tennis and even a kids play area!
Since I travel from the Eastern Cape to my home for business, I usually sleep about halfway. This definitely made it worth it and was able to rest thoroughly after the tiring drive
Positive: Meals and meals were excellent. Less positive: Room very small, would have been a problem if we were there longer. Shower and bath on ad and confirmed by phone by the resort, but no bath found, only shower. Shower water lukewarm and not hot. No internet in room. No fridge as promised by phone in advance. TV channels leave much to be desired.
Unbeatable location, comfortable rooms, crisp linen and sample breakfast help you to look beyond the need for a little renovation.
The breakfast is very nice and the bedding is clean.
Friendly reception that surprises us with 2 x bottles of wine (our wedding anniversary). Neat facility that produces interesting spots, corners and gardens. Meals were just a pleasure with a large variety of food that was carefully presented. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was comfortable. However, a lot of water was wasted waiting for hot water from the shower faucet.
Baie potesiaal. Kort iemand wat so n instansie effektief kan bestuur
Friendly staff. Just a pity the shower was cold and water pressure power.
The hotel is centrally located, walking distance to the beach and restaurants, but unfortunately it needs some upgrading, the service as well.
All staff are friendly and very helpful. The fact that there are about 6 places to visit (restaurants) within 100m of the hotel is really convenient.
Our plugs' power went out the everning. I called reception. The electricity was back on within 3 minutes. Strangely enough, I wasn't surprised, because it's the way the service in the past taught me. Unforgettable stay.
Skoon kamers, vriendelike personeel, pragtige ligging!
It was our first time in Wilderness and we will definitely return to Wilderness Hotel. Accommodation and amenities are at good price and breakfast was delicious, thank you.
We had a lovely stay. Great location and staff very - and always - helpful. Room was extremely neat and spacious, breakfast was a joy. The whole experience at the hotel embraces the visitor and does not want to let go; we will definitely be back. Thank you for a joyful experience.
The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and professional. The hotel is very neat and the restaurant staff is so friendly. We just had trouble getting a safe in our room - had to ask 3 times. Also our extra key to get into the room didn't work at first. At the buffet breakfast, they are very quick to remove dirty dishes from the table, but do not replace them with new cutlery. So you sit together without cutlery and have to ask. The pool table also did not work even though it was advertised. Overall, we really enjoyed it and it is very clean and tidy and very friendly. If they just stick to b.g. little things can work, that would be great. When you're on vacation, you don't want to struggle to find things. We enjoyed it very much.
Love it that you can just walk down to all the restaurants, just find it a bit noisy in the mornings.
The family enjoyed the holiday at Wilderness Hotel. We explored the place by walking from the reception to the other side of the Wilderness Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, including the cleaning services. I recommend any person to holiday at Wilderness Hotel.
Had a great stay at the Wilderness Hotel. Everything was nice and clean and convenient with activities for all ages.
Excellent location. Neat and clean. Excellent breakfast.
The hotel met my requirements, the rooms were good, the food had excellent variety, the facilities were good as well. The location of the hotel is probably best attraction, close enough to Knysna and George.
The hotel is clean, but old and shabby. Rooms are better. They need new towels. Be careful of rooms that live on parking area. It makes a lot of noise. Rooms have no view. Breakfast lovely. Good value for money.
The staff were all very friendly and professional, and the hotel was clean and comfortable in general - just a little dated and in need of some maintenance. (Worn out carpets, broken locks on doors). The rooms looked a lot better online. We stayed in 3 rooms, of which one had very dirty windows, and another had a broken door lock. We ordered off the a' la carte menu, and the food was in-edible. They were kind enough to refund us 20% of the cost without our asking which we appreciated.
Pillows and extra blankes are past their time. Breakfast is a winner.
It's clearly a 'bus hotel' that focuses on breakfast, which is very good. Our room was located in an area where the corridors were stuffy - as was the bedroom with minimal amenities. Our room overlooked the inner garden and was wonderfully quiet.
The accommodation was neat and the staff received us very kindly. The English-style breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. There was a big function that evening which made parking difficult as a resident guest, but apart from having to park far away, the stay there was pleasant. Thank you.
We've had wonderful experienced at Wilderness Hotel in the past.
Wish I could stay longer.
The hotel remains one of the best in SA. Our first stay there was 45 years ago and the experience remains unchanged.
We were met by a very friendly receptionist and checked in. The room was very modern and clean with all the necessary items. The lady who bakes the eggs/omelettes in the morning was a star, she served us so heartily and even shared a joke with our little girl. She is definitely an asset. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much.
We slept well and ate deliciously. Pool also clean.
Had a great time and ate. In my opinion, carpets in hotel corridors could be upgraded. It's old and shabby and doesn't make a good impression. Thank you very much for an otherwise lovely stay.
The trip was amazing the staff so friendly and the food was out of this world.
Friendly and professional personnel. Family rooms are neat and practical for family with teenagers. Hotel is walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach.
Clean and neat with friendly staff.
The Wilderness Hotel's location is perfect for enjoying more of the village on foot or driving further afield to explore the wider area. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast. Only problem was that we didn't know breakfast was included in the room fee and we would have paid double for it if we hadn't specifically asked when we checked out.
Excellent affordable accommodation in the picturesque Wilderness. Breakfast offers great variety and was tasty. Room was nice and clean and service was great.
Friendly reception. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Value for money buffet meals. Beautiful view. Old world charm. Safe area. A lot to do. Other restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely return.
Good value for money. Comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast is not completely vegetarian/vegan friendly. Bathroom ventilation is not adequate. Building maintenance is obviously behind. Would nevertheless like to visit the hotel again as the pluses outweigh the minuses.
Awesome base to explore Garden Route. Rooms very comfy.
Reception was efficient and painless, despite the fact that three tour buses with foreign travelers walked in before our arrival. The fact that reception changed our room to a room with a small balcony and with a better view speaks volumes of their attitude towards great service. Very good and tasty food confirmed the experience of The Wilderness Hotel as a great holiday accommodation.
Wilderness Hotel is still an old favourite with its perfect location on the Garden Route. Service was good although the room wasn't 100% clean and needs some attention. The facilities in the hotel were a plus point.
The staff were not very friendly, especially during the Christmas period, complained that they were tired, working too long hours. The hygiene of the catering staff and specifically one cook was not to be desired. Sweat on the face was wiped with the front lap and then with the same hands continued with omelette preparation. The Christmas Eve dinner was disappointing. Vegetable dish dry, steak overcooked and dry.
The location of our room was very poor. Number 187. Right at the back of the premises on the boundary of the Hotel. Very noisy. We had to park at the back of the Hotel on a ground surface. The rooms and breakfast are very good.
Value for money.
Staying here was great, it's close to everything and the people are friendly.
Rooms are dark and lighting is not sufficient. Beds not comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic though.
The environment is very noisy.
Our room was at the back of the hotel. Very far from the entrance. When you opened the curtains, you stared into construction debris. The aircon is very old and noisy! The room smelled stuffy and damp. The evening's food in the restaurant was incredibly expensive! Definitely not value for money!
The room was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in that area.
Wilderness Hotel is a good, affordable accommodation option with friendly staff and exceptional food. The hotel's history and character tells of years of good service and enjoyment. The hotel is walking distance from excellent restaurants and entertainment venues. The view is breathtaking and when the little church on the slope started ringing their bell on Sunday morning, it felt like we were in a small town in Europe. Just like in the movies. It was very special. We were delighted. We'd love to return!
Great accommodation. Friendly service and lovely approach toward guests. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Good value for money and very pretty, clean hotel.
We can recommend Wilderness Hotel wholeheartedly. We have 2 children under the age of 6 and it was a lovely long weekend for our family. The hotel and grounds are neat. Beautiful swimming pool, gorgeous tennis courts and close to the beach. The Wilderness Hotel will see us again.
The Wilderness Hotel has a great location in terms of walking to town and restaurants and the stunning beach.
Was brilliant and will definitely go back. All the staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Had a great stay and ate very well, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I had a nice stay, it's a big Hotel, friendly staff, delicious food to choose from. I would say that the gym could do with some updating. The equipment is old - feel free to get more Crossfit type equipment such as "medicine/slam balls", kettle bells and soft dumbells. It's a small space but if it can be reorganized, you can do a lot in it and then it's worth the extra R30 a day.
Please see the stars.
Staff were very friendly and there were lots of activities for me and my grandchild to enjoy together! We enjoyed the overnight accommodation tremendously and will stay there again anytime. I can recommend Wildernis Hotel anytime!
The reception staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. The room was spacious and the bathrooms neat. The mattress can be replaced. The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly and the service was good. The rooms were well cleaned and the beds neatly made. When we left the staff were again very friendly and even marketed the hotel for a next visit. The hotel is very well located and we could walk to the restaurants and shops.
Friendly reception. Beautiful, spacious and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast served by incredible people! Thank you for a lovely stay!
Thank you to LekkeSlaap for hassle-free booking and for securing us the best room!
Very nice stay. Very friendly management and workers. Close enough to everything from the beaches to the Garden Route Mall. The hotel is undergoing renovations and facilities need attention but the rooms are comfortable and clean.
The location of the hotel for all the delicious restaurants with fresh fish dishes is a bonus.
During our stay they were busy upgrading one of the wings of the hotel, but it didn't bother us. It is good to see that they are upgrading. The rooms were neat and clean. The restaurant's prices were very reasonable, and the food was delicious, actually too delicious. I probably gained an extra kg or two there. The biggest asset of Wilderness Hotel in my opinion is the staff. Every person we came into contact with was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The receptionist, the waiter, the bartender and the cleaners! Thank you for a lovely few days, I will definitely recommend this hotel.
Our family really enjoyed it, but for teenagers, this time of year, there is not much to do at the hotel. The restaurant's evening selection is far too little, but the breakfast was wonderful and all staff very friendly. Perhaps it would be positive if there was a permanent fridge in the rooms (without having to pay R30 per day extra for it). General activities for the children are too few.
Warm welcome and tidy room.
Breakfast was nice and the staff was very friendly. Rooms were tidy and we had a problem with a boiler not working. Called and the boiler was immediately exchanged for another one. Hotel is located in a very nice environment where we could walk to several restaurants to eat outside the hotel.
The hotel is situated high up with a very nice view of the beautiful nature. I experienced a warm homely atmosphere as opposed to the sometimes clinical atmosphere of some lodges. I will use their services again anytime.
The carpets are dirty and the hotel smells like an old building that's been closed up for a long time. They are currently busy upgrading the rooms, so hopefully the issue will be addressed soon. The room was neat and spacious, but unfortunately it wasn't opened for the next evening, we returned to a messy room. The staff was friendly and in general it wasn't bad value for money. With some attention, it can become the glorious hotel of its heyday again.
The stay was very nice and we will go back anytime, without a doubt. All I wasn't very happy with is the phone in the room didn't work and the people were very quick to come and see what was wrong and I was told the phone was broken and they would come the next day replaced, which I wasn't very happy with because I had to walk all the way to reception if I wanted something.
We were well received by the staff at the front desk, but there was no porter to help us carry our heavy bags up the stairs. Our room was neat and tidy and nothing was missing. However, when we went to eat on the Saturday evening, after booking for dinner, we sat for exactly two hours before any waiter came to us to serve us. After another half hour passed, the same waiter came again and said that our starter with soup etc. was on the way We then had to inform her that we had not ordered soup at all and what she had mentioned, but something else. She didn't write it down nor could she remember what we ordered. Later another person came to us and it turned out that she was the manager for the evening at the restaurant and asked us if everything was still okay. We told her that we had been there for almost three hours, that our order still hadn't arrived and that the waiter didn't know what we ordered. She then informed us that she would go and find out soon and fix it. After another 15 minutes, the real starter finally arrived. We then immediately ordered the main course, but after the main course did not come out after another hour, we got up and went to reception to report the poor service. Was told that an email would be sent to the managers immediately and she would come to see us the next morning. There were several disgruntled customers that night and some of them also reported this to us at reception. It then turned out that the head chef simply decided not to work on the weekend and did not show up. These things happen and yes, someone can get sick too, but what bothers us the most is that there was no plan B at the hotel if something like that were to happen and furthermore, to date, no one, but no one offered us another apology by explaining the situation or saying they were sorry. However, for such a large hotel this is extremely unacceptable and one would expect at least an explanation or something that same evening, but this was kept from the guests by choosing an alternative of extremely poor and unprofessional service. The next morning, when we learned about the previous night's incident, it appeared that more people had complained and the receptionist referred us to the manager who had just come in. After we outlined the situation to him, he explained what had happened and told us how horrible it was for him and that they had already had a meeting about the situation. Again, no apology or how can we fix it or anything of that nature. He did take our business card to give to another manager to do "something" with it, but to date nothing has reached us. It's very unfortunate for us, because everyone can overcome something like this, but then explain the situations, but because poor and unprofessional management, so we cannot recommend the hotel.
The staff at Wilderness Hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very tidy. It truly offers value for money.
My experience at this place was good for my soul and body.
Rooms and bathrooms could use more renovation. Maybe a hot pool. Other than that, no problems. Location excellent.
Jonel, the manager, has a sparkling personality and she goes out of her way to make everyone feel happy and welcome. We will definitely stay there again if we need accommodation.
We were very impressed with the service and cleanliness and the breakfast was excellent. Our complaints were sorted out immediately and the stay was very pleasant and relaxing. Only criticism is that then DStv channels are very limited as are the WiFi areas.
Incredibly friendly people who go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The hotel does not provide sufficient information about the services they offer and the surroundings.
Extremely friendly and competent staff. Neat accommodation and facilities. Would recommend it.
Stairs a problem for elderly people.
People who work there are helpful, no complaints! Service is good and food is delicious!
Our stay at the Wilderness Hotel was very pleasant and good value for money. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us with every request. The hotel is well located close to restaurants and shops and also to the attractions in Wilderness. We will definitely stay there again.
A refrigerator must be in the room. We were traveling and had things that needed to be kept in a fridge. Otherwise we will stay there again.
Staff are very friendly and helpful - room was neat and clean.
The room was spacious and the service received was very good. The facilities were lovely and perfect for a family holiday. Everything was within walking distance to the hotel. I will certainly return on another occasion. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Good hotel stay in very good location next to N2 and other attractions.
See the stars.
There was good hospitality, however the water in the bathroom was not clean.
It was a nice getaway, but not without problems. The staff are very helpful and made sure we were satisfied.
The first impressions were good, the hotel is beautiful and historic. The first night was fantastic, but unfortunately a pipe burst and by night 2 the hotel was without water. The next morning we only had to collect a few bottles of water at breakfast for one's morning hygiene. However, there was not enough of it to have any meaningful meaning. Later we were told jugs of water were available, but on the day we were not informed of this at all. In my opinion, they should have at least (by hand) filled the public toilet facilities in the hotel in the morning, but there were no ablutions available anywhere. We had to resort to public toilet facilities outside the hotel...not acceptable at all. In the evening our hot water was off. Because we were of the opinion that it had to do with the geysers that must be full, we just left it there. The next morning, second day in a row, we couldn't get clean, still no hot water! I had to walk to reception because no one answered the phone. The young lady was clearly more interested in making excuses for me than trying to solve the problem. We are on a day trip and wanted to take a shower when we got to the hotel in the evening, but still had no hot water. I then lost it and threw a "tantrum" in reception where the marketing manager intervened. In the end we were offered another room, but we stayed in our room and only used the other room for showering. Our last night was also removed from our account, but I only had to fight when I checked out in the morning because I suddenly OWED R1700 (this after I paid for our accommodation in full before arrival and paid for our upgrade hours after our arrival). The experience put a damper on an otherwise lovely holiday, and I will not be booking there again and will be sure to tell everyone I know to never stay there. It doesn't matter that things go wrong, it's how you deal with them.
I checked in at 4pm in the afternoon, and the hallway on the way to my room was full of dirty towels and bedding and my room door was wide open. The cleaners couldn't confirm if my room was ready, so I just went inside. The walls are paper thin and were constantly disturbed by cleaners and noisy guests. The hot water tap at the sink could not be opened and the shower in the bath inconvenient. Breakfast (included in the price) started with queuing and when I got in I turned around because everything that wasn't finished was almost gone. I went to breakfast at Sedgefield.
Older type hotel very well located in Wilderness with lovely large rooms. Friendly, helpful staff who are service oriented and make your stay pleasant. What struck me is that the staff speak Afrikaans, something that is rarely heard in the hotel industry these days.
We had a great stay, breakfast was delicious and all the staff were so friendly, especially in the dining room. Was very patient with each guest's request.
This is an excellent family hotel. There are plenty of activities for the family to do. Rather choose the quiet times (not school holidays) to have a romantic break.
Would stay there again anytime. Any age group can live there. Breakfast fantastic. Just a pity that the parking is unmanned and the gate is open.
It's a shame there isn't a liquor license.
