Magda is a very good hostess.
Very nice accommodation that was comfortable. Suggestions that can improve the stay: 1. Replace glass bottles with soap and shampoo in the shower with plastic bottles, they are slippery and can slip out of your hands and break. 2. Provide a breakfast and dinner at an additional cost.

We really had a wonderful stay. Our host was friendly and very welcoming. The guest house is beautifully decorated, and the bed and linen were of great quality, ticking all of the boxes.

Not at all. Noise from cars and people shouting in the street. The bed needs to be replaced because the mattress has sunk in. DSTV did not work and I had to ask for repair. The fridge froze the milk, so I couldn't drink coffee. The curtains are dirty with dust. The room needs a good cleaning. The pillows do not smell fresh and are overused; it must be replaced. The bathroom was clean except for the blinds which are full of dust.
We were incredibly surprised, the house is incredibly beautiful and tidy, the pool and social area are brilliant and the owner was fantastic!

Very neat and clean, excellent service!
The room was much bigger than we expected, well equipped and tastefully decorated with a nice outside area for the dogs. One of the few places where dogs are welcome. Walking with the dogs to the Vetmuis Farm Kitchen for dinner was a unique experience.
We will definitely use Three Birds Country House in the future. They made an effort down to the finest detail to make you feel at home. Their rooms are exquisitely decorated. They had their fridge stocked with drinks plus wine available. Their coffee bar is also nicely decorated and there are biscuits. With the power cut, our host was standing by with boiling water ready for coffee. We are going to refer our friends to them or bring ourselves if we are going to tour in that direction. We ourselves were invited to let them know in advance if we were coming so that they could arrange genuine Karoo lamb chops. Very secure setup. Very pleasant stay and highly recommend.
Three birds Country House offered a comfortable stay during our trek home to Johannesburg from Cape Town. The staff members are very attentive, cordial, and nice! The rooms are beautiful, the bed is comfy, the water pressure is amazing, the kitchen is big! Everything you need for an overnight stay during a roadtrip! I won't stay anywhere else when passing through!

Three Birds is a very nice and tidy place. The Vetmuis restaurant is a must. We ate well and slept well. In addition, our dogs were very welcome.
The stay was a pleasant surprise and we had a wonderful rest. The dinner had been delicious. Will definitely stay here again. If I may suggest something - two members of my group walked with crutches and are already senior in years. Maybe the owners can think about making a ramp/slope for people who are not so comfortable climbing stairs to walk up. Even handholds in the showers will help many people hold on.

The people of the town are very friendly and it is a very beautiful environment where the guest house is located. The service was excellent and we were warmly welcomed. The food is delicious and we will be visiting Richmond again soon!
We always travel with our Yorkie and always have a peaceful overnight stay at Three Birds. Unfortunately this time we were told on arrival that we should be careful with our Yorkie and close the room door because there is another dog, which is understandable because other dogs are also allowed (the reason why we always book there). Which is still comfortable as we have an area to our room that goes outside which is ideal, although we were under the impression that he will also be on a leash. Throughout the night the other dog scratched at our door every now and then and appeared to be roaming freely up and down the hall. Obviously it wasn't the usual peaceful night, we were disappointed that dogs were allowed without a leash and supervision.
The rooms, pool area and veranda are beautiful and the linen and towels were clean and very comfortable. Beautifully decorated. Jan was very friendly and went the extra mile by helping us out with an extension cord for our car fridge.
Neat guest house. We were there on a Sunday evening and luckily there was a restuarant within walking distance of the guest house.
Made it worth visiting Richmond again and will definitely do so again in the future. Richomond is my hometown. Nice to see people making an effort to attract tourists to town.

Jewel of a beautiful guest house in the heart of the Karoo. Tasteful, comfortable rooms with air conditioning. One feels refreshed for the rest of the long road after a good night's rest.
The rooms are stylish and equipped with everything you need if you want to spend the night: comfortable beds and bedding, a small fridge stocked with various drinks and soft drinks that you can use at very reasonable prices. There is also a kettle with mugs, glasses, coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. Of course also a complimentary glass of sherry. There is also friendly reception and service. Really recommend!
Ideal place for Gauteng folk to overnight on their way to Cape Town. It's well-equipped and has safe parking. You can visit the book stores that are just a block from the guest house.
We were greeted kindly and immediately taken to our room with a quick explanation of how things work. The very spacious room has everything you need and a modern air conditioner that does its job quietly to keep everything cool. The room is very interestingly decorated and creates a very nice atmosphere. The oversized bathroom with double shower and double sink was a joy to use.
A beautifully furnished country house with several rooms available but unfortunately no meals available on the property. But this encourages you to have a walk about in the interesting town.
Everything was good - really no complaints but as a 65-year-old man who doesn't tour around it would have made the review 110% if the use of the TV, fridge, etc. was explained to me, but as a tired man who was on the road for 12 hours, I thank you that my dinner was ready to eat immediately after my arrival.

Exceptional big room and bathroom with the most comfortable bed that I have ever had at an overnight place. The bedding is of very good quality and you really feel at home. Richmond's nightlife is quite noisy, but the convenience is just what makes it happen. Nobody will make a mistake to stay there!

It's an old house that has been renovated quite recently, so everything is new and in beautiful condition. The interior decoration is earthy, simple and comfortable. It was very cold when we slept there, but there is adequate heating available. Janine received us very warmly and made us feel at home. Dinners are easy to arrange: you order or buy prepared dishes from Die Vet Muis and Janine heats them up and serves them in the large and comfortable living room. We were very happy with our stay there and will definitely go there again.

What a delightful surprise to walk into Three Birds! The house is stylish and fashionable, each room with its own relaxation area, bathroom and a TV. The family room with its couch was a welcome oasis after a long day on the road. The air conditioning made us relax quickly and the children enjoyed the pool immensely. Janine and Anke are excellent hostesses and we enjoyed the (huge) plates of food we ordered from the Vetmuis Restaurant. It was already delivered to Three Birds and we could just choose what time we wanted to sit down for dinner. Just a word of warning: Don't drink Richmond's brackish tap water!
Take a detour if you have to, but do your family a favor by staying at Tree Birds Country House. Your vacation really starts or ends here. To sum everything up in one word: Top class! First overnight destination where my husband and I have ever slept! (think that says it all.) The guest house is unbeatable and the village a "treat". Enjoy dinner at the Krip and breakfast at Vetmuis. You will not regret it. Three Birds is definitely going to become an institution on our holidays.

Suggestion - put decent size shaving baskets in rooms and more fluffy towels.
The guest house and eating place are lovely. We could relax by the pool. Lovely set up for families traveling together. The garage next to the guest house is a bit noisy at night. Would recommend the place to guests on their way to the Western Cape.
The guest house has interesting interior decoration and a practical layout. The Karoo hospitality and friendliness is highly appreciated.
