After reading some past reviews, I was quite worried and sceptical about staying at Thula Guesthouse. Now I can safely say that I would highly recommend guests to stay at the farm. We booked the guesthouse for 14 people. The house is absolutely neat. The grassy area around the house does have animal droppings, but that's to be expected as it is a farm. We didn't mind. If people did experience issues in the past, those have clearly been attended to. The host on the farm was very polite and on call, no problems. The maids were very polite as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the house. We are a noisy bunch and felt free to enjoy without having to worry about being restricted. The farm experience was one to remember.
If you love farming life, you will love your stay at Thula Guest Farm. The house is well equipped and very clean and neat. The upstairs bathroom drain was blocked, so they need to look at that. Otherwise, it is a really nice and relaxing environment. Friendly dogs and staff!
The house was very comfortable for our group of 9. Simon who received us was very friendly and helpful. The staff went to great lengths to pack the fireplaces every night and leave enough wood. Unfortunately 2 of the 5 bathrooms had no hot water. Suggestions: in the cold world electric blankets would be welcome, in fact a necessity. Alternatively, heaters would help. The site could be neater. It looks neglected.
The house is spectacular. It had an old-school farm-like feel, but still modern. Ample space. The surroundings of the house are not very clean, but then again this is a working farm. Reception and hospitality - there were none, but we checked ourselves in. The road to the place is the only negative I can comment on; not sedan-friendly. Perfect for large groups.
