Tiru is a privately owned house situated inside Mabalingwe, a Big 5 game reserve 28 km from Bela Bela and 140 km from Pretoria. Enjoy the ultimate bushveld experience, with the ultimate lapa, where you can sit around a fire underneath a well-designed thatch, with all the facilities next to you, including canvas to control wind flow, build-in braai, Weber or gas braai and large table to socialise around. Sit on the deck and enjoy breath-taking views over the reserve, while animals and birds come very close. The water temperature of the heated splash pool can be set to your ideal temperature for all day enjoyment. Enjoy the hot tub and hanging chairs under the trees at the swimming pool or in the lapa.

The house is fantastically furnished. Everything one needs is there. The hammocks are a winner! The hot pool was unfortunately not working.

Make sure you remember to switch on the pool pump after loadshedding, The pump warms the pool nicely and is great in the evening.

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend with friends at Tiru Lodge. The entertainment area is great for long chats and relaxing - a covered patio next to the braai, with a view over the tree-covered game reserve. There is a small, heated splash pool to keep the kids happy. The only potential downside is that there are only two bathrooms for 4 sleeping areas, and the thatch and fan in the loft area were quite dusty with lots of spider webs and bugs!
Very nice stay except for the swimming pool where you have to call the owner all the time to turn on the heat pump. Otherwise the water is cold, and you pay to have hot water in the pool for the duration of your stay. The house is fantastically furnished and we made wonderful memories.

Beautiful, large home, fully furnished and really well equipped. It rained most of the weekend, so we were inside the majority of the time and it was just so easy in the home, we had everything we needed, and there was plenty of space for all of us to be in the same area without it feeling crowded. The fireplace was an added bonus that we definitely took advantage of. Truly lovely stay, we would definitely look at staying here again!
Our family had a great time thanks to the beautiful, tidy accommodation. Although it was raining terribly there was enough space inside and outside for socializing. Everything you need is there.

We had a great time at Tiru Lodge. The place is well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin area is nice and spacious with an amazing view and we often saw wildlife from the deck. The Jacuzzi and extra fridges are a bonus. Christelle is the best hostess who made sure that we have all the necessary information regarding safety as well as activities that can be used. I can recommend Tiru Lodge and would very much like to use the accommodation again.

Tiru Lodge was perfect for our celebratory weekend. The house was spacious and fully equipped, beds are comfortable, showers are hot, in and outside fireplaces are wonderful and the view is great! The hanging chairs and hot tub is a great addition and we made full use of it. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it, and would love to visit again.

Cute house with good location. Lovely outdoor living area with braai and beautiful view. Very close to the cafe and the entertainment area. It's a shame that only one of the two available bathrooms has a shower. The "cleaning" service offered is unfortunately not value for money.

The accommodation was excellent and even more beautiful than the photos suggested. The air conditioning in the rooms was lovely, and the ice machine a nice bonus. Warthogs, kudus and a rockhopper all came to say hello at the deck. We will definitely come again, it was a very nice weekend break. The owner was also very friendly and helpful with all the arrangements.

The lodge has a nice view over the forest with all the facilities you need such as aircon, fridge, ice machine, jacuzzi, self drive vehicle on demand braai facilities and large patio with a nice view. The unit was well maintained and the cleaning service was excellent. Christelle's service was remarkable. Tiru is nice and close to all the resort's amenities.
Tiru Lodge is very clean and tidy. We had a great time. The lodge has a very nice veranda with a wonderful view of Mabalingwe. Christelle was available for questions when we got there. Our break deposit was refunded immediately after our stay. I can recommend Tiru Lodge for families looking for a great getaway.
We experienced problems with the Jacuzzi and brought it to the owner's attention. She immediately provided feedback and a temporary solution to the problem, after which we were able to use it. Will support them again anytime and recommend them with confidence.
Comfortable house with braai area with a beautiful view.
It was very hot in December, as we expected. Air conditioning did not work adequately and we expected a slightly bigger kitchen for so many guests. The extra small fridge helped a lot to keep soft drinks and water cold. Everyone decorates according to their own taste, but we really enjoyed it.
Tiru Lodge is ideal for the perfect getaway. Old and young enjoyed it. The house is located near all facilities and is equipped with everything you need. Rooms very nice and the air-con a plus. Would definitely recommend.
The house is well laid out and has everything you need to enjoy your weekend. I would suggest publishing a list of items available for use, for example we brought our own potty and gas stand but the house has both, although the house gas bottle was empty. Will definitely book again!

Tiru Lodge is perfect! It has everything a person will need and more! It is exceptionally clean and comfortable and the the location is perfect! We had a lovely weekend. The communication with the owners were always quick and helpful. It is a lovely house that is well-equipped. The porch was the best place to spend time and we went from the porch to the Jacuzzi. What a nice and luxurious time in the bush.
Nice place. The house is a little bit small inside for a large group. There was also no ice machine as advertised. It's a little expensive compared to other lodges we have visited in Mabalingwe.

Will go to Tiru Lodge again. The place is tidy and has enough bedrooms and bathrooms for a large group of 9 people. Nice braai facilities and Jacuzzi. Location is nice - not too far from the main entrance. Then the Castrol bar is also nearby and a must for anyone visiting Mabalingwe.

Very neat and clean. Well equipped. Nicely furnished. Would definitely recommend! Had no water on Sunday morning due to elephants pulling out water pipes. I reported the problem and had water back within 30 mins - very good service! Maybe the owner could stick a load shedding schedule to the fridge? Would it help that one is not completely caught off guard with cooking etc.? Had a great weekend, thank you very much!

It was a lovely, cosy getaway. We woke up to the sound of beautiful birds, having a lovely cuppa on the deck overlooking the bush life with a visitor passing by every now and then. The warthogs are very friendly! The kitchen is very well equipped, there's DStv for the boys to watch their rugby. Lovely warm beds to sleep in at night. Just a really 'lekker plek'!
