27 guests' feedbackThe house is very well appointed and the location is amazing. We made full use of the patio during the day and the fireplaces at night. The farm isn't large, so the walks are manageable and pleasant.
From the time we arrived until we left the service was excellent at all times. The place is beautiful and the staff is well trained and professional. We also ordered some of their food and it was delicious.
The lodge has an exclusive feel. The room is spacious and romantic.
Friendly reception immediately made us feel at home. Clean tidy and highly recommended. The breakfast was well prepared. We enjoyed the morning of our departure on the stoep and had a beautiful view of the surroundings. Highly recommended if you want to relax and love nature. Our time there was just too short.
We stayed there 3 nights and had a really relaxed time. We stayed in the RockHouse and had our own splash pool which was ideal for privacy. There are lots of birds around so we spent our afternoons listening to them which was beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that the sound from the main lodge or neighbouring chalet can travel, so if there are loud people staying there, you will hear them. We had loud neighbours the one evening. Thankfully they were asked to quieten down which they did. Other than that, great place, food and staff!

Our accommodation was very nice. The rooms are large and the view was picturesque. The food and service was very good and will most definitely visit Tomjachu Bush Retreat again.
The staff ware friendly and went above and beyond what I expected. I got the feeling that the staff was really interested in making my time there as pleasant as possible. They were ready to supply me with anything I need. I really enjoyed the view and quiet. It was exactly what I needed. I was happy to see that they are working on the gravel road to make it better.
We loved Tomjachu Bush Retreat. They have thought of everything - very comfortable and relaxing. Very friendly and helpful owners/staff. The road to the Retreat is difficult. We felt it was only suitable for 4x4's, but we were informed that this is an issue that they are dealing with.
Tomjachu was one of the best I have been to, the service, food, and helpfulness was the best I have ever experienced.

I called to do the reservation and the Lodge manager (Sharil) was not very nice and helpful, she asked me to send an e-mail, and I did, and promise to get back to me the same day. Well, she didn't, but I called again the next day to ask if it is possible to come, she answered the phone and said only in the keepers lodge (self-catering) and that she will send an e-mail with further details and she did. I'm not a difficult man, but I really felt uncomfortable with her attitude but I didn't have much time to look for a different place and if I had, I would do it. When we finally arrived Jack (the owner) met us, a very friendly and a very nice man. He showed us and explained to us all we needed to know, we felt very welcome. The next day we bought lots of food in town to make on our own in the lodge, but unfortunately we forgot to by oil for cooking and to go back to town on the gravel road may take 20 minutes so I have called to the main office of the lodge to ask for a small portion of oil, the lode manager answered and say no, you need to buy it yourself and mention that she told me that the lodge I took is self-catering. I said I do know that but I'm asking just a bit of oil and finally she said "okay, let me see what I can do". Eventually she came and gave us but we didn't like her attitude again. Maybe she is a lovely lady but for us she was unpleasant.
2 years back we spent a weekend at Tomjachu and were very impressed with their service, accommodation and view. With our second visit this year (Keepers Cottage) we were even more impressed with the beautiful renovations. We also appreciated Nadine and Jack's friendliness and service. What a gem you have in the bushveld which we would surely recommend to any couple looking for a quiet, romantic breakaway weekend.

We stayed at Bush Cottage and had a wonderful weekend. The food at the lodge was delicious and we were very well looked after.
It was beautiful and the food is indescribably delicious. Very relaxing like this in the open air. And the staff is fantastic.
My mother and father's bedding was not clean. The cushions on the inside were old and dirty and had no plastic covers. After her arrival home she was full of bite marks and was diagnosed by a doctor with rickettsia. It seems like something bit her in the room. We stayed in another chalet and had no problems. I am only disappointed because I paid for the holiday. Bedding must be clean as well as the bed itself.
Very nice, clean and tidy lodge - and beautiful nature! Privacy is ensured. Service is very friendly and efficient. The unit was serviced every day, including Sunday and the holiday. The braai is cleaned every day and new wood is supplied daily. Lights are hung on the porch every afternoon, which creates a romantic atmosphere. It's spoiled! Next time we will book the unit with its own private pool!
Tomjachu offers an excellent bush experience. We were treated like special friends from the very first moment of our arrival. Even though we arrived late at night, we were greeted by Nadine's friendly smile. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast and met many of the Lodge's friendly staff, including the Manager (Justin Boshoff) along the way. We stayed in the Keepers Cottage where daily fresh flowers, home-made rusks and fireplace wood contributed to a wonderful and very special stay. We can highly recommend this little Bushveld jewel to all who want to break away from city life or who are on their way to the Kruger Park.
Nice destination, good service and nice views. Very peaceful environment and nice close to town and tourist destinations.
